Why didn't the Flare Gun and Fire Crackers stun effect return when Jason is in Rage mode? This is an imbalance and these items are useless in the second half of the game

I wouldn’t have a problem with flares or firecrackers stunning Jason during rage.......but just to point out they are not useless during the second half of the game just limited in how you can use them......firecrackers can still be used to distract Jason with the sound pings and the flare gun can be use to mark Jason on the map for others to see.

@mattshotcha thanks for the patch notes!!

Ik this is probably unlikely, but is it possible that after all these legal issues are solved that Jason X will be unlocked?

This F13 legal battle could go on for a while. Regardless, Jason X is not likely to be released in this game. It's a shame he'll never be legitimately playable.

Resist stun from melee weapons in rage mode - I agree. Long-range weapons can only be used once. There should be an advantage throughout the game if you choose to use it. Firecrackers are the only way to restore stamina if Jason is chasing you. For counselors with a low endurance score, this is practically the only chance to escape from the experienced Jason. Especially for inexperienced players. Rage mode should give Jason an advantage in that the survivors are afraid to engage him in close combat, in order to kill him. If the shotgun has all its properties throughout the game, I don't see why making firecrackers and rocket launcher useless when rage mode comes on

I’m not sure, as there are a lot of other factors that could be in play. I would recommend reaching out to the support team at JasonKillsBugs.com for some troubleshooting.

Welp...with the final patch coming.

Some rambling thoughts...

Some of these sound like solid fixes. Never been a fan of sliding and the delays in combat stance, especially for Jason. I've always felt combat stance was a bit useless for counselor in this game from start to finish, but combat stance for Jason can mean the difference being demasked or not and/or stunned or not in a crucial moment. So having Jason be slow in this area was always a problem. Point blank, I wish blocking overall was never tied to combat stance as it was just too clunky overall, but that's all old hat at this point IMO.

In terms of the giant weapons. I remember they were a big thing right around launch and alittle after and only recently have they returned. I haven't encountered them too much, but they do offer gameplay advantages so I can appreciate removing them.

So overall...these sound like decent enough ideas to fix up going into the final patch.

Now the two elephants in the room...

I realize the modded lobby situation has been addressed already. I'd only add its definitely something that needs to be addressed to state the obvious. I mean it feels like it borders on a faulty product, being forced to play a gamemode that the devs never intended, with the 5 Jasons vs 20 Tommys and whatnot. I would think Steam could get involved and take the game off the store in some sort of legal manner because you can't play the game as intended. I know for me, I'm not going to play this game again on PC unless this issue is resolved in some fashion that doesn't require me as the customer to jump through hoops to play a game. Offline bots from time to time if anything, but that's it.

Now the other thing. I'm not gonna pick a side in terms of the toxicity surrounding recent events between Gun, the Reslashed modding team and other people in the community. What I will say is if Gun's next game is a multiplayer title with a licensed movie franchise or something else, I would suggest being open and considerate of a modding community if its applicable without legal problems. Modding communities are a big thing in modern gaming and under many circumstances, help keep game's alive FAR LONGER than they would've if they were forced to run its vanilla version for years and years. Left 4 Dead 2 for example is a great example of such a community where the community workshop on steam and the sourcemod/metamod forks have helped keep that game alive over 10 years with a consistent 5k-15k playerbase.

Granted, in that case, Left 4 Dead is a FPS, not a asymmetrical horror game. That said, the point still stands. Modding communities can help your next title more than hurt it if you can utilize them.

That said, to close with some positivity.

The Xmas Beta of 2016 and all the excitement around the game from that time period up until around the one year anniversary when the game got shanked by the lawsuit were exciting times to be a fan of this game. Through all its ups and downs through that year and a half, it was good times. We finally got a F13 game with a multiplayer aspect that was mostly solid, but could've been more in depth obviously IMO. Hopefully another one comes out before all the players who played this one end up being fertilizer.

Well with this being the last patch the Rage Mode as is will be the game’s final version.

This is not the topic thread for this type of discussion and it’s been talked about to death at this point.....but your statement is not true there are many ways other than firecrackers to regain stamina......nor is it the only way to escape......Counselors have more than enough options.......low endurance or other wise, play to their strengths and manage their weaknesses.

Rage mode should give Jason an advantage in that the survivors are afraid to engage him in close combat, in order to kill him. If the shotgun has all its properties throughout the game, I don't see why making firecrackers and flare gun  (LIMITED )when rage mode comes on

I fixed that for you again........these items have a limited use after Jason has Rage Mode....like I said I wouldn’t have a problem with it but I also don’t have a problem with them not stunning him either.....I have learned to adapt to the changes and adjusting to the strengths and weaknesses for each counselor.

those two items whether they stun or don’t stun isn’t the end all be all for counselors.......there are plenty of opportunities available to escape/ survive / or kill Jason.......without them stunning Him.

I hope the fixes for the interaction locks address the IL that occurs on the 2nd floor of the main house on Higgins Haven. That one has been around for years.

We can ask @mattshotcha if this was an area the team looked into.

This is a solid bit of feedback, Tyrant. I appreciate it. I won’t go thru every point because as you noted, they’ve been mentioned and I understand you’re mentioning them again as your point of view.

One thing I will specifically note though is mods and licensed IPs. I don’t think enough of the community realize how that’s a rare thing. When you license an IP, the rights holder doesn’t always give you full permission to do whatever you want with their IP. And so naturally that makes mods a tough sell. And that’s understandable that the rights holder might not want to see their property in a tutu on roller skates. Hell, even the development team that has licensed the rights needs to get approval from the rights holder for everything created.

Interaction locks are listed by the team internally, but I’d have to go thru to check against a specific one. Generally speaking, reported locks are always investigated.

if you can provide some more specifics so that we don’t cross wires, I’ll double check on this particular one.

I don't know what triggers it exactly, but up in the hallway area on the 2nd floor of Higgins Haven where the bathroom is, what will happen 98% of the time is I will end up getting locked from just walking around that hallway. I'll still be able to move, but I cannot pan the camera or interact with anything. This is as a counselor (any).

If it helps, I started noticing this issue several years ago when I started using perks. It got to the point where I'd just simply avoid going up there when playing the game. I haven't tested it enough to see if it's the perks causing the problem or if it's just a coincidence. The perks I use are Thick Skin, Medic and Marathon. I play on PC.

@mattshotcha

I got a three questions

1. since the offline bots aren't apart of the last patch, what if the offline bots break even more after the patch?

2. Say one day the online servers do shut down, will you guys atleast have some fix on being able to have things unlocked like the Jason's that are locked and can save progress?

3. Not sure if I asked this before to you if I did sorry, but will the bots still function when the servers do shut down?

1: This is the last patch, so while I have to admit, if something were to go wrong it would only be looked at if it was a very major issue. That said, there should be no way for offline bots to break on their beyond active patches. With no one making any changes to that system, they should remain as they are when this patch launches.

2: The current plan is to address the database servers if they ever need to be turned off. But that is extremely far off.

3: Yes, bots will still function without servers.

Well, here's to hoping I don't have to come back here for a post patch report on sliding still working. I can't wait to try out combat stance. Sounds like it'll be better than what we have now.

I am sad to see these forums go. I really loved it here. I was hoping you guys might have changed your mines on sunsetting it. But I suppose I understand your reasons for doing it. Some good memories here. Thanks for everything. Look forward to seeing what is next from Gun.

Hmm... Are you referring to that issue where the camera seems to zoom in and gets locked in that position, essentially limiting your field of vision, typically in the direction the camera was facing when it got locked?  Also, do you use a controller or keyboard when you play?

No, I wouldn't say the camera zooms in. I just can't pan the camera and I can only move in a straight direction pretty much. I also can't pick up anything or do anything that requires interaction. I play with a controller exclusively.

Hmm... Anyway, I play on Xbox, and I've had something similar happen several times. Go up to the second floor, the camera gets locked and I suddenly can't pan the camera, interact with anything, and the visual perspective is skewed towards whatever direction I was facing when it happened. I don't recall if I was only able to walk in a straight line or not, and I would describe it kind of link drunk walking, or like one of my counselors had one of their eyes gouged out. I can see half the screen just fine, but the other half is completely cut off to me, since the camera lock prevents the camera from orientating  properly when I try to turn. I can't say for sure it's the same issue, but they sound similar enough that I'd assume they're at least related. The big difference is that I've only had this happen a handful of times out of hundreds of matches on Higgins, and at least once to a friend that I can confirm. Infrequently enough that it was never worth bringing up or complaining about. Definitely not the 98% you've claimed. I can't explain that.

What I can explain is what I've noticed when its happened to me. I've always assumed it was a controller input issue, because the few times I've noticed it happen I was either zipping through the second floor, or when I tried to open a door or drawer with my finger still partially on the joystick, then boom... After it happened a couple of times I started taking my time whenever I went up there, and made sure I wasn't pressing any other buttons when I opened a door or drawer, and I haven't had an issue with it since. So long in fact I just assumed the issue had been patched, or wasn't that common of a glitch to begin with. I doubt that information will help you at all if it's happening almost every match on Higgins you play. It seems like an issue oddly specific to you for some reason. I might have to check this out later, and see if I can still get the glitch to happen on Xbox.
