  1. The game has made such huge improvements over the years but the issue with the cops still bugs me and I think it needs addressing. When you call the cops and the counselor speaks to them screaming and crying and telling them where they are and the situation etc. Just to have Jason cut the line or kill the counselor 0.5 seconds before the call ends. My issue with this is that if you have gone through that much of the conversation with the police they should still send someone out at that point. Maybe just add a penalty like the police don't take it as seriously so it takes another minute or two then normal to arrive? But yeah i've just ran into so many scenarios where people try to rush the phone and Jason just keeps killing them one by one as they are 3/4ths through the phone call. You would think by that point the police would think something is up. I dunno I just think something involving the phone has to change in some way.

Yeah that makes Part 2 Jason really strong. Just put 2 on the phone box and get a free kill. This feels like a glitch they could fix.

Thats exactly what its been doing. Jason's who learned they can do this just started putting 2 traps on top of eachother at each key location. So if a counselor decided to take one for the team and step in the trap instead of just getting injured from full health they are instantly killed.

  3. As it stands right now the traps need looking into because you can stack 2-3 traps in a single leaf pile so when you escape one trap it auto puts you into the 2nd one and kills you. I think we really need traps to be unstackable so you can't just put them all in one spot which auto kills someone after they step in one. Also just on a realism note how would you stack 3 bear traps on top of each other anyway?

Here is my 2 cents on this discussion. I personally believe it's balanced and not a problem. I think people just want to run wild without consequences. There are consequences for your actions make wise decisions. If you are going to run in a straight line and be out in the wilderness well that is kind of dangerous. Limit your outside time as best you can. Have I been installed grabbed sure, it happens, made an error and was dead out in the open. Try ducking Into some cabins, do not run in one direction, make Jason work for it.

This game comes at a learning curve but I am pretty confident as time passes players will be better and you will stand a better chance at surviving the night.

If he's grabs you and you aren't prepared well you kind of have it coming.

I already posted a topic on this issue actually Jpops. But in response to what you said I agree on all stuff you posted here but my topic talks about the issue for counselors playing it safe and still being instant grabbed. I want Jason to be overpowered and love it but it seems more of a game mechanic issue then Jason being Jason. Because as it stands right now Jason can just charge into a group of armed counselors in a cabin and grab one and perform his kill animation in less then a second before all the counselors 2 feet away can even swing once or fire at him to knock the person out of his grasp. I use this example because its a common tactic used since they know theres no consequence to it because they can perform the grab kill before anyone can attack if they spam the key/button.

Jason is meant to be a juggernaut, though. Jason shouldn't be afraid of counsellors.

When Jason shows up your first reaction should never be 'batter up, ugly!', it should be 'Oh shit! Run!'

Working as a team has tons of merit. You can fix things faster, have more shotguns and flare guns, and ultimately you're ensuring that some other poor bastard gets killed instead of you.:)

I suppose I don't see the issue. When I play as Jason I like to cycle through the different kills, instead of going for the cheap dirty ones.:)

Oh man I get hes supposed to be a juggernaut and im not saying we should fight him but don't you think its more of a gameplay mechanic issue instead of Jason being Jason that he can pick you up and 0.5 seconds later perform a uninterruptible kill animation even though theres people firing a shotgun, flare, and swinging a bat at him all at the same time the person was grabbed? Im totally fine with once the animation begins that it cant be stopped but the animation shouldn't be able to begin instantly in less then a second after he grabs you unless its a environmental kill.

23 years of PC gaming under my belt and yet I don't recall ever purchasing a game that flat out did not work (besides F13). So yeah, I am really surprised.

Diabo 3 didn't work for like a week after launch and tons of MMO's so do your research. You need to stop wanting everything instantly and let the devs do their job. The servers are overloaded and they are working on it.

At the end of the day, the break free mechanic is a joke. It's only there to stop him from getting scenery kills so it might as well not be there.
Either you have a pocket knife or you are not breaking free on your own.

The main reason I would want a small delay is to allow another counsellor to hit me with a weapon.
Currently the counsellor has to time it a bit too well in between me grabbing and killing the person.

Standing up to jason and fighting isn't a very good survival method, true enough, but moving around the map 2 by 2 can be very good and giving players the actual chance to save each other with weapons and then run will make melee weapons  more useful, because right now, I never care about counsellors having a weapon when I'm Jason.
High strength is a worthless stat if I never have to care about a player's melee attack, so why have these characters?

If they are 2 by 2 and I decide to axe murder them instead of grabbing, well that will give them an opportunity to use the block mechanic, something I've not seen used at all, ever.
And 2 by 2 they do stand a better chance to stun and run. If they took a hit, well first aid will have a more of a use, because right now it's only for jumping through windows and countering throwing knives.

I don't see any negative sides to slightly increasing the time between grabbing and killing.

Thank you! Yeah I completely agree that the main reason should be to allow another counsellor to hit Jason with a weapon. Its not to give us enough time to break free at all and besides they can't do it forever since weapons have durability even for the strongest and luckiest characters. Also yeah unless your doing the secret route to kill Jason 99% of the time your just trying to buy yourself a few seconds and constantly hitting Jason isnt going to make him useless or anything. I just hope this gets enough attention because even working as a team means nothing if Jason can just charge into a group of armed counselors and grab one not fearing if hes gonna get hit because he can just instantly start his kill animation.

  8. As it stands right now Jason's grab kills give the player no incentive to use environmental kills due to its short activation time. It can be triggered almost instantly after grabbing even before a counselor who is next to Jason and constantly swinging their weapon can even react before his killing animation begins. I think it would greatly balance the kill if it just added a short 3-5 second timer to it before it was allowed to be used in order to prevent the instant grab death.

  9. This issue has happened with AAA  companies before and its nothing new for the  first few days of launch when devs weren't expecting the amount of traffic they got. Cut the devs some slack and for the people who are leaving negative reviews on the steam page for the server issues and not even gameplay...please stop that, if your going to give a game a negative review it better be for the gameplay and not just because of a server issue shortly after launch that was obviously to be expected.

  10. Everyone I ran into is having this problem including myself. The push to talk feature even when turned on constantly picks up your voice even without you holding the key. Sometimes even when we have never pushed the talk key we will hear our voice and it constantly gives us away and made a lot of games really awkward.

Also on a side note it would be really nice to have a push to talk button on the controller somehow because talking in game is extremely tedious and hard to do when your a controller user and have to take one hand off to go and hold the T key.

I don't see how my reasoning is odd?  You're okay with Kickstarter Exclusive meaning early pre-order exclusive?  You're okay with waiting almost 2 years with only a vision, others get to review it before you but you can't ask for a refund? It also makes no difference if you got your hands on it at the same time.  Literally it would've made little difference if streamers got it on Friday or backers got it yesterday.  Nice guys finish last and all that I guess.

Again Kickstarter doesn't guarantee project fulfillment.  Be careful with how you approach future projects with that whole kickstarter is a pre-ordering platform mentality.

By the way anyone pre-ordering now are still paying as an early access title.  How steam let that go is beyond me.  $40 for multiplayer only but single player is included in month or so.  People are still buying into a vision.  You're going to tell me that it's still normal practice that press gets THIS kind of Early Access prior to an Early access release?  Far from normal.

Just because normal games being made normally go to press first, doesn't mean kickstarter ones should.  Maybe you only kickstart video games. But even then this is the first video game I've backed, where exclusive didn't mean exclusive, and someone got their hands on it for free before I did without being a prototype.  All other Kickstarters I assure you product is meant to be in the backers hand before anywhere else.

I am perfectly okay with waiting almost 2 years with only a vision. I guess im just a simple person who doesn't want to get wrapped up in semantics and just enjoy this game that I have looked forward to.

Assuming you're a backer.  The issue comes when companies don't show appreciation for their crowdfunding.  Backers are told the game wouldn't exist if it wasn't for their pledges.  Now if you don't fill entitled to that appreciation just for the product you payed for.  That's not what kickstarter is.  We're not pre-ordering anything.  The project could've completely flopped I personally would've been fine.  Being entitled to a "thanks" and action showing their gratefulness isn't asking for too much.  I help with something I expect a "thanks".  Now we got that "thanks" but as the project continued it became more about lets get more people and forget about those guys.

Now how games are generally expected to be handled through kickstarter.  Those who paid for access get it, or the game goes into early access at teh same time we get our keys.  It's not that press usually get the game is the norm.  This game wasn't created by the norm.  It was crowdfunded.  Press be damned what they think.  We're locked into the product.  There's no returns for us so we're forgotten already?  Lets up the sales outside of what we promised.

As stated in my longer post.  I'm not boycotting them or anything.  What I kickstarted has been made and I'm going to receive it.  I helped crowdfund the game and have a special Jason to show it off.  Even though I have no way of distinguishing myself as 1 of the first 12k players it's fine.  I'm still use to kickstarter projects looking out for their first backers first and foremost.  Annoyed and just disappointed on how an indie developer decided to do things.  I will not kickstart anything else they do and will probably wait for a late pledge since they give no reason to be part of initial vision.

I am a backer yes since almost the very beginning and even bought all the DLC I could buy. Im sorry to hear your not gonna kickstart anything they do again for an extremely odd reasoning but thats your decision. I don't see any problem with anything they've done and I don't feel entitled to anything except having the game at release and enjoying it if it turns out to be the great product they promised me it would. I mean getting a thanks is great and we have been thanked many times and thats all I can ask for until the game is released.

Is it insulting to say "Frist world problems " to everybody bitching about this game? Can't wait until this game come out, so people can stop bitching about this game. I feel sorry for Devs who have put up this crap. Thank You, Gun Media and  IllFonic for bringing this game out and being nothing but transparent with the game development.

    Thank you!

  14. I personally never understood why people got upset at press and streamers getting access first. The gaming industry has always been that way and you guys arent the first to do it. So really not sure why suddenly its a big deal to people when almost every gaming company has been doing it for years. You just don't hear about it but almost any famous gaming youtuber you can ever imagine has always had early access to a  game or beta and all gaming review companies and press companies revolving around the game have had access. In short this isn't anything new and im not sure why everyone is suddenly making a big deal about it, can't wait to play Wes and thanks for the amazing game! ^^
