[GAMEPLAY](?) "Use Headset For In Game Voice Chat" option does not work!

So my old headset broke so I found one of my even older headsets to use, the mic doesn't work and whenever I play everyone just hears static coming from the mic, so I went into Audio Settings and set my headset to not be used for talking in-game, but nothing happened, everyone in the server still heard static, so now I'm stuck either without headphones, (which I think are a must) or have to buy new ones that will likely have the same problem at some point, so please, make this option actually work, I'm on PS4, does anyone know if this option works on PC/XboxOne?
