General Changes and Bugfixes [PC]

General

  • Addressed several issues that were causing players to be interaction locked
  • Fixed an issue that was causing party members to sometimes be unable to join a quickplay lobby with the party leader

Jason

  • Fixed an issue with Part 5 Jason’s Shift Duration being lower than intended
  • Sense is no longer automatically cancelled when Jason enters the water
  • Jason’s pickaxe kill “Canopener” now appears as “Neck Twisted” instead of “Decapitated on the scoreboard
  • Fixed an issue where window environment kills may temporarily become inaccessible if Jason grabs a counselor that is in the process of vaulting through the window

Counselors

  • Fixed an issue that caused players to sometimes load into a match as a spectator
  • Counselors that have been pulled out of a vehicle will now display the correct struggle animation
  • Small items (medical sprays, firecrackers, etc.) are no longer usable for the counselor that is performing the sweater stun
  • Addressed an issue that would sometimes cause the player to become stuck if the player opened the map while vaulting through a window

Vehicles

  • Added additional countermeasures to prevent players from being able to stand on top of cars
  • Made adjustments to the car escape volumes to prevent vehicles from falling off the map
  • Starting a boat will once again alert Jason via sound effect
  • Fixed an issue where the repair mini game prompt may temporarily not appear if the player is rapidly toggling the repair interact button repeatedly
  • Fixed an issue that caused Jason to be able to walk through cars under certain conditions
  • Fixed an issue where the reverse camera on the vehicles may sometimes not be working properly

Maps
General

  • Addressed several counselor exploit locations
  • The medical spray static spawns on the Crystal Lake Large map and the Packanack Large map will once again properly spawn medical sprays
    • Note: The location of static spawners for medical sprays have been adjusted on each map (including Crystal Lake Large and Packanack Large) for this patch and the previous patch.

Jarvis House

  • Fixed an issue where a car battery may spawn in an unreachable location

Pinehurst

  • Fixed an issue where the boat may disappear upon exiting through any of the Pinehurst boat escape volumes

Single Player Challenges

  • Fixed an issue that caused players to become stuck when activating a stalker point while entering combat stance at the same time

Why would you add a sound for the boat starting?  You already were taking a huge risk with the boat. Now the boat is useless.

Hello. I'm curious is the current hiding mechanics works as intended? I mean, I'm not sure, but I think many people may find hiding useless and even dumb sometimes. Because counselors voice lines are too loud. It is enough to just come into a room and wait untill they reveal their location. If you're attentive enough, this makes it too easy. Can't their voices be muffled and loudness lowered? For Jason?
Edit: And also, when you hold your breath for really small amount of time, counselors still exhale like they were holding it for long. IMO, to make sounds like this you need to hold your breath for about a minute or so.
Edit: Ah! And one more thing. Chad has no hiding spot voice lines. Instead, he says his "dead body reaction" lines. But maybe this was fixed, I don't know.

So this doesn't look like it address the character swaping or the problem where Jason loads in a bunch of mismatched textures with part 3 abilities regardless of which one was selected.

And since when did the boat ever make a starting noise to alert Jason? It's never made a sound since release. This is going to make it almost impossible to escape using this method.

Dock the boat and have to come back to it? I didnt even know that was a bug, cant remember ever hearing a boat start sound..

I've been playing the game since this past February, when I started playing I heard the boat start as Jason. Eventually after a patch or two, I didn't hear the boat start anymore. I prefer not hearing the boat start as it is a more difficult escape option than the car (if the conditions are right). I do play on PS4 however, so cant speak as to if you could ever hear it on PC.

So just going back through the forums if you search for "boat" "start up" "sound" you find plenty of discussions around how there has never been a boat sound that alerts Jason.  @ShiftySamurai can you please provide any dev commentary regard this change?

I've been playing since launch and I've never heard the sound as Jason. Unless I was keeping tabs on the boat they would get away unless they messed up the skill check. Which was fair and balanced because its almost impossible to out run Jason in the boat because he can just morph to the boat exit.

Well the tuff thing is you cant trap the boat(think only the one boat spawn on crystal lake is possible). so a good repair counselor can fix and be gone without anyone on the map knowing. Think i would rather a doc trap stop someone from putting in part then hearing start up sound, but whatever.  A small Jason buff

As far as I know, the boat starting sound was something that worked properly in the early stages of the game and was always intended to be in the game.

Boat Escapes are the most daring/dangerous of escapes.

This is great, thanks for the notes Shifty. I may have to wait for the PS4 patch but any update means we’re that much closer.

I agree completely, hard to have a ‘by the skin of your teeth’ escape when Jason has no idea you even left. Maybe people will equip boat perks now, I look forward to trying it.
