Where do you rate this game among movie license games?

Recommended Posts

I will say it certainly ranks in a higher tier. To give some point of reference in my thinking Charles angels full throttle for game cube is the worst with goldeneye being the standard.

Without bugs 4/5 with bugs 3/5. Its definitley closer to the top of licensed games. My favs : F13, Alien Isolation, LOTR Return of the King. The worst : all TMNT games that arent arcade.

I haven't played any other Movie License game other than F13 on NES.  So....top-tier for me.

That I can think of off the too of my head

Goldeneye N64

SuperNES Star Wars games (all of them)

F13 the Game

... (Large gap)

F13 NES

Jaws NES

... Larger gap

Nightmare on Elm St NES

Top Gun NES

... Largest of all time gap

Back to the future NES

I'm sure I'm missing a ton. Love this game, but I have to be fair too. Other movie licensed gamed have been better.

I agree with your number 1. Goldeye has set the standard. No game has reached that standard, although the game hasn’t aged well in my opinion.

Doesn't even crack the top ten.  Middling at best.  It could be elite, but we're a year post-release, and still plagued by game breaking bugs.

What do you consider top tier?

Old school games.

The Die Hard Trilogy (ps2)

Friday the 13th  (nes)

Nightmare on Elm St. (NES)

Super Star Wars (SNES)

Star Wars: Tie Fighter (PC)

Star Wars: Rebellion  (PC)

The Warriors (Xbox)

Goldeneye (duh)

Star Wars (Arcade, 1983)

Blade Runner (PC)

Am I over reliant on Star Wars titles?  Hardy.  This list easily could have had 10 more SW titles.  But there are so many classic NES and PC games, this list could easily double or triple in size.

Well, it is definitely buried somewhere under the Atari's classic ET game...

Yeah, yeah.  Bad joke.  I know.

I'd give it a 4/5. 9/10. The game itself is phenomenal, but the bugs are still there and take a point away. Perhaps the bugs should take more than a single point away, but honestly, the bugs have not bother me that often. Out of 10 matches, I get the bugs maybe twice. Hence the reason I only take a single points away.

Goldeneye 007 on the N64 definitely set the standard, as so many have already pointed out that's #1 in my book. Though The World Is Not Enough on N64 also wasn't too shabby, just less violent (less blood).

1. Goldeneye 007

2. Alien Isolation (I consider it a film licensed game)

3. Friday the 13th The Game

Honestly there haven't been many successful movie based games. Only a small handful comes to mind.

4. Star Wars Trliogy (SNES)

5. Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis

6. Indiana Jones and the Emperor's Tomb

I'd put f13th up there personally. I really enjoy it despite the bugs.

Agree above with Alien isolation - one of the best games in recent years.

Men in black 2 was easily one of the worst movie games, on ps1. Luckily I didn't pay for it, but wow, bad.

Die Hard Trilogy was awesome...I believe that was PS1, though.

for all it's problems, they did the movies justice for the most part.

you actually felt like you were being chased and that you were jason.

The Best movie based game for the current gen for sure.

@gtdjlocker311 Yes Die Hard Trilogy was on PS1

And is in my top too with  :

- Goldeneye 64
- Friday the 13th
- Alien Isolation
- Evil Dead Regeneration
- Chronicles of Riddick : Escape from Butcher Bay

I never played Warriors from Rockstar.

Warriors was really cool as well.  I always hear great things about Alien Isolation but haven't had a chance to try it.

For me, F13 is one of the best...maybe only second to Goldeneye.

This is a game I had dreamed could exist when I was a kid, and I always have a blast playing it...glitches and all.

I think this game will be remembered the same way the E.T. on Atari  is remembered. In a few years all people will talk about is the problems this game had and the controversy that surrounded it.

It probably was.  I made that list of of the top of my head, so there's probably a few more errors.

But yeah, that Die Hard trilogy game was fantastic.

Do you really think that?

I don't think the two are close to comparable.  The ET game was, objectively, a terrible and unfun game.

F13 is quite popular and generally enjoyed by people who play it; people wish it was smoother and the licensing controversy may be its undoing, but people genuinely seem to enjoy it.

I for one think it's a great game; my only real frustrations with it have to do with a few areas it could be better (glitches, bugs, terrible perk system).
