Will Pamela Be a Playable Character? Ever?

It would bring a new dimension to the gameplay, especially if she could spawn just like Tommy.

This is a cool idea for pamela.

Id like to see Pamela in the game because shes a main anchor charachter in the friday the 13th franchise.i could see Pamela Voorhees being secretly involved with Goetia Black Magick .Maybe Pamela voorhees has a creepy hidden cabin.i really think that a supernatural strength for pamela voorhees would be the route to go with this. What about a 1955 Camp crystal lake map where we find out that the killer that killed the hitchhiker girl in the first 1980 f13th movie was in fact jason with checkered shirt and coveralls.why not do a 1955 crystal lake prequal story of how The voorhees family became so sinister.Ive read lots of books about the subject of Black magick Philipines Kulam sorcery,spanish Palo Mayombe,Kindoki,Goetia Black magick Heptameron, i think pamela could be scary. heres a story i had in my head for a 1955 map with jason and pamela voorhees, 1955 camp crystal lake is hosting a spiritualist church camp and sock hop for college kids there will be preachers and speakers at night. Pamela voorhees is a spiritualist psychic who helped organanize the college church kids to be there.Pamela wants to own the land of crystal lake because of the ancient old gods of the indians dwell there.so these spirits that jason and pamela voorhees are working with on the camp grounds are asking for human sacrafices to feed them.meanwhile jason gets caught trying to kill a college boy and the other college kids try to drowned jason. I Think you guys at GUNMEDIA ARE Doing something very special with this f13th the game. I Hope you guys become celebrity Game designers.the way you guys talk and do interviews with the fans is awesome and it reassures people. I Feel like this game is bringing back that old classic rebellion. Rebellion is something thats missing these days,id like to see you guys bring it back.the classic days when churches protested friday the 13th.people say that friday the 13th in the 80s was looked at as pornography and satanic.there was always that creepy mystique that used to surround the franchise of friday the 13th.the old rebelious days of church groups protesting th exorcist movie at the theatres,people dying and throwing up at the exorcist movie,classic rebellion days of religous nuts protesting ozzy ozbourne and marilyn manson concerts,i feel like you guys have captured that old fun clasic rebellion with this game,i cant wait to see this game grow and add maps.

Wasn't Pamela a stretch goal? From what I have heard all those goals were hit so shouldn't she be getting added regardless?

No they did not hit all of their goals, The Pamela goal and a bunch of others were never reached.

In fact, they literally hit almost none of their goals. Just 3 + the basic "game got founded" goals.

 

I feel bad with just looking at this. ;( They deserved so much more.

yes but after retail sales and online download sales maybe the GUNMEDIA Team will open funding back up too fund more maps and charachters.or they can make them and sell them.

I am curious if you are some sort of creative director for an AAA gaming company, because your ideas area always brilliant.

What if you just based her on the fact that she's a legend in Jason's mind?

Like for example, the way Jason conceives her in his mind, almost illusion of grandeur style... it wouldn't be her per say but maybe a souped up version of her based on what Jason thinks of his own mother... it's a stretch but fuck, the entire franchise is a stretch at this point.

Also, the sweater kill would be out of the question.. as well as the sweater even working against her... you guys would have to find a different approach, like she can only be killed by a female welding a machete on a specific beach on the map and only after a certain amount of damage as been dealt to her.

All I know is that if she does a water kill, it has to be teenage Jason jumping out of the water to execute the kill... it shouldn't be her popping from the water. :)

If she is in, I hope they find a way to not make her not supernatural. Sound blimbs work, but sense morph and shift would be out, and she would be more focused on stealth, like many people said already.

I have always LOVED Pamela Voorhees and find her kind of tragic, because she's just a loving mom who went off the rails when people let her son die. The source of her strenght to me was always her love for Jason, even though it was corrupted by her anger and insanity to make her a killer. That's what makes her so compelling to me, so I hope they don't go and make her into a Zombie monster or Supreme of a coven of witches or a devil worshipper or whatever.

GunMedia: you can made "Pamela Zombie" like Part III, is more easy to adapt to this game with Jason skills, now she´s is sobrenatural like Jason.

As  far as playable characters go I would love to see a Pamela for sure, a Roy Jason and Final Chapter Jason. On the other side the 2 Jason hunters, a younger Tommy and Tina with a few ways to kill Jason would round the character list off nicely.

That's an older list. They did a restructure of the goals list without the twitch goal and we came just shy of the Tommy goal, but they added him anyway.

Edit: If you look at that list we actually got the Many Faces of Death goal which is why we have Parts 6, 8 and 9. We also got the Knock your block off goal and a few others.

I would love to see this happen !

 

But yes a map just for her, with a longer gaming session would work imho. 

I think one would be surprised how many people would love to play that mode.

one thing that would make it more manageable is to make her just not show up on radar or the map at all. She'd probably look like a counselor from a distance and before you even knew if shed be on your ass.

Hey guys, there is an excellent thread on Reddit with an idea for Pamela right now. Basically, Pamela gets to choose who to appear as, starts with a walkie talkie and map, and is killable. Instead of grabbing counselors, she can automatically kill them with a randomly chosen scripted animation, but it makes a lot of noise, and if the other counselors see who does it, they can easily band up and kill her - she has the same hp and combat abilities as other counselors. Shotguns are removed. She can still morph and stalk (which removes her from the minimap), but she can't shift. Many traps. This would be so much fun!

 

There are still balance concerns, but this would be REALLY feasible as an alternate gamemode with minimal changes to the maps/tools/basic game mechanics. This type of game mode is really simple and has been done a million times in Gary's Mod or various games with great success. A secret killer.

My only concern is how to make her stronger at the end of the game, when there are only a few counselors left, since she isn't going to be smashing through doors or shrugging off melee attacks. For one, don't let people see how many others are dead. No maps for them either.

Maybe if you "kill" her, she is revealed and has to openly hunt players. If you accidentally kill a counselor, you can't pick up any more weapons and your composure drops to 1.

Hmm I'm not entirely sure, but I do believe in Pamela's role in the game, even more so in the current maps despite the developer feelings with the rubber band.

I admit Pamela is grounded in reality but in the movies you don't literally get insight to Jason morphing and sensing in particular.

So its the same with Pamela. Just her abilities don't need to be completely grounded.in reality. I say this with things such as stealth coming to mind, possibly making her impossible to see from a range to set up moments where she plans to hide to surprise kill.

In fact I see her almost working like a counsellor but extremely OP.

High high stamina. Can hide in wardrobes. Drastic jabs and medium speed (similar to what is 5/10 for counsellors).
She could have an ability "adrenaline" that makes he speed go up drastically where her voice lines may become far more erratic for a period of time and interactions go along far quicker.

The separation interestingly enough, Pamela can use Windows and not doors (not barred doors) but without adrenaline she takes longer than a counsellor to get through a window.

Pamela's sense equivalent could be a blood. Her attacks inflict bleeding effects and she can track counsellors via glowing blood or foot prints.

Pamela if she were to have a Jason grab equivalent could be more of an arm to arm grapple which can then lead to a special kill, if they environment kills were to be added to her then she could after grapple jab their leg and pull a crying counsellor.

Her rage equivalent could be a damage boost strong bleeding effect and always fast Window climb.

The biggest change I see is that guns would be removed from the maps for her and that she wouldn't be killable and the equivalent of killing Jason for her is shooting her with a shotgun that must be repaired by various parts.
-Ammo for example.

If we go off the strengths weaknesses system then I already imagine a few.

+Bleed -Bleed
+Damage -Damage
+Grapple -Grapple
+Enhanced Stamina -Stamina
+Speed -Speed
+Swim Speed -Swim Speed
 

To make better use of fear for Pamela it could induce quicker, force more bleeding and damage from also thus resulting in tracking. Fear induced targets could also be easily grappled by Pamela. It would work that she can use varius weapons to strike counsellors too. Actually she could use their own weapons, blunt weapons may not induce bleeding but she can stun them and grapple them. She could also from inside cabins sabotage doors allowing her to open them as normal doors for whenever she wants and counsellors cant do anything about it. Perhaps footsteps could become a part of her rage mode equivalent and blood is early game? 

 

I dunno, but I believe in Pamela coming to this game even with the current maps. I think its a lot more achievable, and despite me loving Jason... Pamela is my favourite. I really hope the day comes that Pamela shines through and makes it into the game. Hell, she should be able to get in the car and run over counsellors. (But she can't repair or pick up parts she can only start the car once its repaired.) As for the boat either stop it from being on there when she is around or allow her to like Jason place traps and quite a few, with a boat change the shape and she get the option to hide in it thus players might be discouraged from risking Pamela being ready to perform an assassination.

Make her like Tommy and have her sabotage camp equipment and vehicles. Have her do some of the part 1 kills as environmental kills . She would have her Bowie knife, axe, and bow and arrow (like Jason's throwing knives).
