Will Pamela Be a Playable Character? Ever?

What confuses me is that they were confident enough to confirm she would be done as a stretch goal if the money was right, but this post then states how difficult it would be to implement her?

 

I fully respect the team and this is of no malice, but why would they essentially advertise the prospect of creating Pamela as a killer, if it is to be such a monumental undertaking? What would the story have been if her stretch goal had been met?

 

If you think logically, once the game is live, the sales from the 3 platforms will go way over every stretch goal also, it's going to be a surefire hit - Will they then honour the entire stretch goal list as they will then be rolling in it?

Hmmm never thought about that. But I guess with more money means more possibilities. Or it would just be easier to to with more funds?

Its most likely cause they have to do all the mocap stuff again for pamela they cant really use kane hodders mocap for pamelas kills she isnt strong like jason is

The intention of these posts by Wes are to give some background on the work that must go on to make Pamela happen. The campaign got no where near the Pamela stretch goal as it was near 5 million. This is the explaintion of why it is a difficult feat. If the goal was hit during kickstarter the goal would have for sure happened. Now since we are closing in on launch. The notion are that more maps is something that may be more beneficial to the game post launch verses a new killer is not a far fetched idea.

I don't think hitting a stretch goal after the Kickstarter is long over matters much. 

 

That is like me saying If you guys give me lunch money today, I'll pick your stuff up for you when I go get mine. Then calling me six months later telling me you have money. At that point, it's moot.

What if the game does well? Will they use the money for more content? Any idea on how many people have already pre ordered?

Having one of the counselors as a "Traitor" instead of Jason could be an interesting take on a Pamela like character.  I like the thought of one of the counselors running around trying to kill off the other counselors and messing with them in different ways while there isn't an actual Jason in the game.  Some way would need to be done to "hide" that there is no Jason in the game on the status screen however

 

 

 

Ex.

  • sabotaging the car ( perhaps making it look like a battery was put in the car when it wasn't ) 
  • running over other counselors with a car who are hoping to be picked up for an escape
  • calling the cops back and saying it was a prank, but the police countdown timer doesn't go away
  • calling the cops herself and causing a "fake" police countdown timer to start
  • running up to the cops and telling them to leave instead of escaping
  • searching through houses and poisoning healing sprays, leaving them for other counselors to find
  • picking up the car keys and throwing them in the lake
  • destroying the radio
  • able to use the walkie-talkie to listen in on the other counselors and talk to them
  • cause the "Jason music" to be heard around different cabins on the map, tricking other counselors
  • could still teleport around the map, but with a slower refresh
  • after half the game is gone (or 2/3), she can turn into Jason but starts gaining the normal Jason powers at that point

I think that if the game does as well as we think it will there will be several things that will come our way through DLC.  Like it has been discussed Mocap takes a lot of $. There are other things I would like to see before this like weather changes.

I 'd love to see a Pamela character personally, I obviously understand how much of an undertaking this would be. If nothing else, a way for the counselors to interact with the sweater and potentially kill jason (a-la part 2) would be sweet as well. Other ideas i've had were to be able to summon pamela as jason a-la tommy jarvis (where a dead player comes back as pamela in her jeep), albeit it would make no "real world" sense, so probably a part 1 map with pamela as the killer would probably be the best (could make use of the generator etc).

These ideas are why Pamela should be added,all the stuff required to make her a human killer will change the game dynamic in a new way and keep the game interesting for a long time! A 1979 mode is needed for multi-player.

I think zombie-Pamela from the end of Part III is the best way to proceed. She can perform the same type of kills as Jason etc. Make her spawn point from the lake and you're contributing to the lore as well. Part III lore. Every match you ever play is a Chris Higgin's dream sequence in her post traumatic stress years. Maybe Chris becomes a playable counselor?

 

Would be a whole lot cheaper than having to dig up and create all new game mechanics, when the money could be used elsewhere for other DLC.   

 

Could see 1979 Pamela in a game sequel....when the original game's already become a huge success.

I really would like to see Pam in the game but I just don't see how she would really play into it. In the movie she relied on stealth and ambush techniques. She dispatched everyone by sneaking up on them. Also no one expected a nice lady to be the killer. In the game she couldn't run/walk around like Jason does because no one knew about her being the killer. I feel like the whole game mechanic would have to be changed to incorporate her into it. I wouldn't know where to even start. She could be super fast maybe and have amazing stealth, but then what's to prevent counselor players from just sticking together and beating the crap out of her when she appears. Idk just a few thoughts.

I think Pamela is already "incorporated" into the game in a very special way that hasn't been widely announced yet.

 

I BELIEVE......

she and possibly even her likeness will be / is incorporated into the game via the "sweater / child psychology sequence" from part 2.

 

I believe there will be a way to "wear" the sweater as a protection from Jason.

I disagree,Pam is the one who started this all and needs to be added in as a playable tribute.They can't add these characters in because they don't have the likeness rights to any of them.

I did,I want full playable killer Pam added at some point.

What are your ideas on how she would play? it wouldn't look or feel right if she just ran around like Jason does.

Pamela woudn't have the option to grab counselors. Wouldn't have the option to sense, morph, shift or rage. Wouldn't have the option to stop cars. Wouldn't have the option to swing. The counselors for sure can hurt her, etc... etc...

 

Her gameplay should be in a map without weapons (So counselors can't fight her back), without bear traps, without flare guns and without cars (So they can't run over her). Pamela should be like a counselors, i mean, having a stamina stat and able to open windows. She should be able to kill teenagers by only hitting them since she can't grab them. Her stalk should be turned on since the start, you only know she is close when you see her. She should have the option to mess with the boat or even use it to be faster in water, or maybe call the police back to say that everything is okay and that the other call was a "prank". The only way to win her is by escaping with the police, escaping in the boat or surviving the 20 minutes (Her game should be shorter, like 10-12 minutes instead of 20).

So does nobody like Megan as a character at all? She was personally one of my favorite survivors and i'd love to see her get added to be alongside Tommy Jarvis, DLC probably but that wouldn't be bad at all for a new counselor.jasonlivesjennifercooke.jpg
