How has rolling for Legendary Perks been for you?

Recommended Posts

I was wanting to share this post and to gain insight from everyone.
I stream this game 7 days a week and began rolling with 2,250,000+ CP.
I'm now currently sitting at 1,000,147 CP after the additional CP gained from playing during the double XP + Re-selling perks.
Here is a list of double XP earned, both by the day and the total hours of double XP.

5-24-18 16 hours - 45 mins
5-25-18 13 hours - 15 mins
5-26-18 15 hours - 30 mins
5-27-18 13 hours
5-28-18 10 hours - 30 mins
5-29-18 6 hours - 30 mins

75 Hours - 30 Mins Total Double XP Playtime

I can't gauge how much CP that I had earned through this process but I was rolling for perks during pre-game lobbies.
I was trying to maximize the amount of potential CP gained so I didn't take extended time to roll.
Anyway, I'd have a full 30 legendaries but I am hunting for Legendary Thick Skin.

Would love to see what perks you have currently and your experience from the CP gained.

You have had much better luck than I have.  I too am looking for the legendary thick skinned perk with no luck so far.  I am also hunting for the legendary swift attacker perk.  Since the update, I have spent over 1 million CP on rolling perks, and I do have legendary perks, just none that I would actually equip other than the legendary marathon runner perk.  I truly hate how long it takes to roll perks in this game lol.  While I have yet to see the legendary thick skinned perk, I have received the legendary boating perk about four times, and keep selling it back since I know I will never use it.

I have had some luck getting Legendary Perks, but It’s just that they don’t seem to be really worth the hassle right now.

For example, I had a Rare Thickskin with +17%,-0%. The Legendary version is +18%,-2%,+2% trap escape; statistically only 1% better then my Rare. I expected a little more bang-for-my-buck with the Legendary Perks.

I am a Jason main, so I can imagine that there are counselor mains that are disappointed with the L. Perks.

Just my 2 cents.

I had a bet with my local bookies that you'd start a thread bragging about this. £10  bet and I got 50p back.

I rolled 9 so far and they were all worse versions of current Epics I had, so I sold them back. The tiny bonus they add isn't worth them being worse overall. It would make more sense if legendaries always had 0% for the minus part of each perk. They are supposed to Legendary after all.

50,000 CP and nothing to show for it. I don't want to roll through the other 100,000 I have banked, we need a better system, I think Perks are the weakest area of the game and I hope they do something about it.

Agreed rolling for perks is the worst part of this game.

I spent 20k cp over the weekend and didn't a legendary, matter for fact I think I only got one epic. The rest were all grays and some incredibly useless ones, like 2% bonus 13% penalty. It was bad and very disheartening.

Haven't bothered rolling for them. Slot machine progression isn't something I can get behind. Feels stupid and completely random.

I've been using the same perks since last November basically. Mix of Epic and Rare...

Preparedness - Knowing where everyone/everything is off the break is extremely valuble info if you know what to do with it. It also helps when you have teammates who don't know where to go 10 minutes into the round because they still haven't found a map. Some would call it a waste of a perk. I strongly disagree. If true, I guess I only need 2 "real" perks to survive then...Pro.

Epic Medic or My Dad's a Cop - My fighter loadouts get the Medic perk, while my fixers get MDAC. Self-explanatory.

Rare Thick Skinned - High enough level to tank a trap without limping. Fairly certain no level of Thick Skinned allows you to tank two without limping. So Epic/Legendary seem pointless  Unless of course you can tank 2 traps without limping with higher levels. I've never seen anyone state that's the case though.

So as long as you can tank a trap without limping at Rare, Epic and Legendary seem fairly redundant.

But if there's ANY perk worth getting Legendary, it's probably Thick Skinned. Maybe you can eat a trap and a throwing knife without limping...

I saved all my CP since the Legendary Perks were announced, I've rolled about 20k and gotten I think 3 Legendary that I don't use. I honestly have all this CP now (not a MILLION but like 200k) and just find I don't want to sit there and roll it all.

I know it has been suggested before, but there should be some way to roll them while you are waiting for everyone to die in the spectator screen. I will usually do like 5 or 6 rolls then just jump into a match because it has become a chore to roll perks now.

I haven't bothered rolling with over 200k cp. I know I could blow 150 cp before getting anything worthwhile anyway.

Why they thought a Las Vegas style rolling system was a good idea was beyond me. My only guess is because it was such an afterthought that they thought they would look bad if they allowed people to pay to win for the perks, which would remove the 'everybody has an equal chance' to get what they want. Which would've been even worse.

Given what the game is now, best scenario is admit defeat, remove the perk system since so many are trash and the rest that work make counselors OP to damage not related to grabs since Grip Strength does no damage, which makes it more worthless as a stat for Jason.

Design special abilities around the counselors, make sure the lesser desired counselors have better special abilites than meta ones, moreover redesign some of the strengths and weaknesses themselves.

I know...not happening but still.

I've blown quite a bit of CP trying to land a few.

Surprisingly enough I did get a legendary Thick Skin. I think I didn't land my first epic of the same name for what had to have been 6 months.

But anyways I've rolled Thick Skin, Psychic, and Motorboating 2x. I've only kept Thick Skin.

Somewhere along the line I missed that the main stat % cap was exactly the same as any perk's epic counterpart which I think is ridiculous. You'd guess that the main boost on a legendary would be at least +5% of the epic version. It almost makes legendary perks worthless unless you roll a perfect one. I've got a perfect Level Headed at +15/-0. If I roll a legendary that's +15/-3/+1 why on earth would I keep it? It doesn't make any sense to me.

The slot machine mechanic is tedious at best. Each roll the odds are what? 1 in number of perks × rarity of perks × number of %/% combinations? No thanks.

I did buy DbD while it was just on sale, all of it. Haven't really played yet though but did give it a once over. Their perk/leveling system seems a lot more thought out and has a lot more RPG language to it than F13.

An actual overhaul to the perk system here, especially if one were developed for Jason too, wouldn't be a bad thing. If they did something like I would really hope they'd hire some very experienced folks to assemble that.

I've spent probably about 60k. I've rolled 3 and I've sold them all.

I think perks in general should not have weakenesses. Certainly not legendary perks. Why would I choose a legendary perk with a 6% weakness over an epic that has no weakness.

It's exactly what I expected it to be. Tedious and unsatisfactory.

Yeah I don't know how video slot machine mechanics became such a widespread thing. I mean I know EA is making ridiculous profit off (see FIFA) of it but for any kickstarter or indie game it seems like a poor decision. My guess would be they were hoping for a bit of that "Rogue Like" magic but I would've preferred an RPG-lite element to each of the characters.

They should change the whole perk casino deal that they have now.

But if they are dead set on keeping it this way (I'm sure they are), I would:

Keep 45 spots available for perks

I would eliminate penalties for all perks, but if not that certainly eliminate penalties for legendary perks

I would make certain perks player specific. For instance swift attacker +18%/-1% if used on Bugsy he also gets +5% thick skin.

I would also make certain perks pairable. For instance aquanaut 30%/0% if paired with quiet swimmer player gets an increase a 5% stamina regen.

By doing it this way, the game could promote different builds and steer us from using the meta. While also, in essence giving certainly players increases that make sense based on that player's points already. (Bugsy with attack perks, AJ with stealth perks, Jenny with fear perks, etc).

Another idea would be to increase the amount of perks to 5. But have it where you could basically keep 3 perks you could use all of the time, but limit the meta perks to 1 and also add a trash perk like easy listening or grinder as the 5th. So basically on a Bugsy you could select thick skin 15% as the meta perk. You could not select the medic/hypochondriac perks. Select three perks of your choice, but also add an easy listening for stamina regen that helps but not that much and doesn't have anything to do with a fighter build.

As it is now. It's just a boring lottery where maybe 7 perks have any real value. And many have no value whatsoever. There needs to be a way to steer players away from the meta besides, "hey I just want a challenge." Like it or not a lot of us treat this game at least somewhat competitively. I occasionally mix things up, but regardless of character it's hard to really make a solid build outside of Jenny's no fear build. Even that, isn't all that special really.

Keep wasting your time. You've  screwed yourself. Everyone's already figured out EPICS are better than legendary.

You just gonna keep saying that? Or actually offer up evidence as to why that's true?

Either way... @Methodicalize can hold his own without perks, I'm sure. So I'm sure he's not overly worried.

I've rolled 6 with around 60k CP so far. All of them are useless to my play style though. All I want is a fucking Leg sucker punch/swift attacker

In general though, there is no hype over legendary perks. The added reward is not a massive incentive to keep one motivated to earn CP and roll the dice. It's not even proprotionate to the increase between tiers such as Common>Uncommon etc. Really badly done.
