A real “team” Vanessa wouldn’t even make an attempt at fixing things and chance attracting Jason’s attention to the objective. She would deliver the parts, maybe set off the trap and then run away. Just saying.

Not even remotely accurate.

Car at Packanack Lodge, Car at Woodbury, Phone at Hodders or Palmers. If I'm alone at Woodbury and can get Jason to morph to me if I screw up one skill check, you don't think that helps the other players at the other car and phone?

Get out of quick play hell and play with some real players who know how to play the game. You might learn something.

Yep. Probably one of those AJs or Debs that won't tank a trap. Therefore nothing gets fixed.

I think that more or less falls under what I said as “maybe set off a trap and run away”.  It’s one thing if a person is doing it to get his attention if the true objective is elsewhere, but if you actually plan upon using it as an avenue for escape it is really stupid if there are players with actual repair skills available. And if everybody else is playing a Vanessa, Chad, Tiffany, or Bugzy as I see way too often, maybe consider playing a brainy character other than Vanessa.

And btw, I play private matches, too.

Sorry, but I haven’t mained a character for quite a while now. Lately I’ve been swapping back and forth between Adam, AJ and Deb in the hopes of getting more boat escapes and phone calls to complete those badges.

But how does your answer compute with the facts that more times than not I fix at least one part in most matches I play. In theory, you're right repair players should repair. Often times they're on the other side of the map or they have Jason on them (because they're a repair character).

That's exactly when a Vanessa, Jen, Chad etc should repair.

And like I said earlier, screw up amd draw Jason over. Big deal. "Hey guys he just morphed to the two seater".

Because you are under the illusion that I am talking specifically about you and not the larger group of Vanessa players out there. There are always exceptions. Maybe you’re one of them I have no idea.

Let me burst your bubble here regarding Vanessa.

You think most Vanessas suck.

I think most players in general suck. For every garbage Vanessa player, there is some AJ hiding in a closet. Some Chad following someone around swinging at them. Some Deb with 10 repair that just won't repair items for some reason.

A good player can navigate any player and be successful. I find Vanessa to be a jack of all trades character and I enjoy the thrill of the chase. I find stealth play and battle to be a little boring. I like being a good team player that will eat traps.

At least I’m looking to challenge myself. I don’t particularly care about the badges themselves, but it gives me something else to do other than escaping to the cops or with the car for the millionth time. If all a high level person does is play Vanessa and does the same things every game, like troll Jason with his “amazing” prowess then whatever, but that is just not interesting to me personally.

There’s a reason why so many people choose her. It ain’t because she’s challenging. It’s because she is easy.

You’re right. And if you were to look at which character these crappy players are most likely to pick it would be Vanessa. ?

These are the kind of posts that require immediate shut down. I'll be posting some videos of my Vanessa play for sure, since I have seen too much of this rubbish lately.

What would that prove? Vanessa is the easiest character to survive with regardless of the experience level of the player. It isn’t as if being the best player in the world is going to ever get Deborah from one end of Pinecrest to the escape on the other end, or loot cabins of sprays and knives faster than Vanessa.

Because Vanessa is supposed to!

Unless I have spray, I (Debbie main) can't tank a trap without mortal damage. However I still do, cause I need those points and if I don't nobody else is going to.

It's amazing when I switch up to Vanessa on rare occasions, it's like driving a Porsche 911 turbo instead of my normal 94 Ford Escort. I normally don't play them atheletic characters because I'm horrible at combat so I feel like I don't have anything to do to help the team. Maybe I will make a Vanessa build with Hypochondriac, Thick Skin and Scout. Then just tank traps and run parts, then repair and distract when necessary.

I played a game today with 4 of them. Got three out of the four plus an Adam and a swimming AJ before the host rage quit.

Vanessa is a beginner’s character. She’s good to learn the ins and outs of the game with because the easiest to survive a match with zero skills, but she can’t do shit except run. Why experienced people stick with her is beyond me. I find her boring.

Definitely not a beginners character, if you know how to hit and evade Jason, and practice repairing with her, She's a runner up Tommy Jarvis, she's the best character.

Vanessa is easily the best character....she does EVERYTHING ,except make BIG noise pings, which is fine because you just kite Jason if he shows up

Theres no such thing as best character IMO.  Just the best character for the worst situation.

When dealing with faster characters/high stamina..  its really just all about the Stalk.

Why run down a Venessa when you can just stalk/snatch them by letting her come to you.

I’m talking ease of use. Ease of use. You can theoretically perfect every character through practice. Her baseline survival rate is higher than the others. She’s the best because she’s the easiest. Who in their right mind would choose the hardest character to play as as the “best”? NOBODY. Imagine if everybody said that Part 7 is the best Jason! Clearly that isn’t happening. lol

Typical. Nothing like 4+ mediocre players running around as Vanessa contributing nothing to the game or the cinematic experience thinking they’re hot shit with pocket knives trolling Jason then quitting the second time they get grabbed before rage. Did I miss anything?

This, best post I've seen in this forum in a while.

I don't take the game that seriously either, but what I meant by that statement is that players that are new to the game aren't going to say "Wow. I love Deborah! She's so slow and I can never seem to make it to the exit or look in more than two cabins before they are cleaned out by all of the Vanessas and Chads." Of course not. What they ARE likely to say is: "Boy, Deb sucks! It takes too long to get anywhere and all of the cabins are picked over before I even get there by all of the Vanessas and Chads. And I keep dying too fast. I think I'll switch to playing Vanessa or Chad!"

Man...there are some split opinions on some counselors. Let me break this down simply, fast counselors (Vanessa, Chad, Buggzy, Tiffany) are chosen because they have high survival rates when their teammates do nothing. When I find myself fixing an entire car by myself as Tiffany while Deborah and AJ hide in a closet...you can see why people choose the easier counselors to survive with. You ain’t surviving a 10 minute chase around Pinehurst with any character not named Vanessa and Tiffany because their stamina holds up the best. You see lobbies full of Vanessa because AJ and Deborah players rarely do their job and fix. Just from my experience on QP the repair counselors (ESPECIALLY AJ and Deborah) never want to repair and just go up to Jason and started swinging with a machete really thinking they are gonna stun him. Adam players go looking for a fight and die quickly. Seems as though most Shelly players are noobs. Fox is the only one really looking to fix something and get out (although I’ve been abandoned or betrayed by MANY Fox players). Obviously this doesn’t apply to every player playing these characters but this is what I see A LOT of the time. You are stuck with Vanessa, Tiffany, and Jenny fixing because repair counselors do not fix.
