Selfish play in QP that annoys you.

Recommended Posts

If you have an extra knife burning a hole in your pocket you're better off going and breaking a trap with it. The most selfish thing you can do in QP is quitting as the host.

Sure, if you hate winning...99% of the time, that's what med spray is for. The smartest thing you can do with an extra PK is to give it to a sweater girl with at least half a clue as to what her job is.

I remember when I used to play the "hero" in QP, always giving one of my med sprays to injured counselors, always using my knife to help others with the phone.

But you know the feeling when you try to help and the others simply gives 0 fucks to you? How many times I helped people and then ended up being left behind by the driver of the car, boat or whatever.

Not anymore.

If the boat is ready and I can't see any person close or playing with my friends, then I'm out.

Same with the car. Call me selfish, but that's how life works. I had enough of frustrating times by being the nice lady (except when I'm Tommy).

I still help, but people can forget about my sprays and my knifes. Now I use Thick Skinned, Hypochondriac and Medic and I eat all the traps.

Btw, yes, I will always be "that guy" at the exit of the cops and there's nothing you can do about it lol

And this is why I hope Gun makes it so only two counselors can escape via police, while the others have to use vehicles.

If you were in danger of being fucked out of a spot, you'd leave and not act like a clown*.

(* And to get in front of the trollers who would screw others out of a police slot. Of course Gun would be smart to utilize a feature that gives escape precedence to people who are not loitering. Maybe X meters from the exit is an "area" that raises a metric. People loitering wouldn't be able to escape "as fast" based on time spent in that area and  wouldn't be able to screw people legitimately trying to escape.)

Don't get mad when someone in the car runs you over for not contributing.

When a counsilor keeps following me and Jason strangely keeps finding us. Then Jason kills me. Then said counsilor does the same to another player. I usually exit those games as they tend to go the full 20 minute mark.

Also, players who follow you into a cabin trying to raid it. I used to teamkill those guys when i could. I prefer to work alone so now i tend to leave traps at doors/windows so if anyone comes in then that their issue.

A simple fix is adding two timers. One for when the cops first arrive (5 minutes) and a proximity timer of 10 seconds when you are close enough to the exit.

This is the one 'dick move' I am guilty of. If you are at the police exit wasting everyone else's time, you're getting ran over for the sake of getting to the next match in a timely manner.

Yea, if you have any objective or task in mind, but you find other key components (keys, fuse, battery, etc) just drop it for others to do.  Same goes when you have the fuse and Jason shows up to stop you.  Just drop it when you can and kite him around.  Don't bring the damn fuse with you so other can't fix it while you're "distracting" Jason, and have them go to the other side of the map where you died <_<.  Same goes with the gas or battery.  They are not going to help you when you need to hit Jason.  I wanna shoot myself when I see a Chad running away from Jason with a battery, bringing it away from the car.

Not even that like, they escape in the car with the fuse and then you can run back to the lake to get it. Or people bring the battery or gas to jasons cabin...like wtf?

Or you get the sweather, you get a bat,  you knock jasons mask off, then tommy jarvis turns out to be an idiot and escapes in the car....

Cocky Vanessa players annoy me, they act like they have some skill when using the most OP counselor in the game. The strategy for me is I put just enough pressure on them to keep them from being effective if not completely ignoring them for the most part. I rarely use Vanessa but when I do...I always live/escape and it is a constant reminder of how freakishly OP she is.  Nerf Vanessa, Buff Jenny Gunmedia ffs. However with that being said....people who sabotage the car or boat after you've fixed it that also annoys me.

Vanessa, OP? Have you tried fixing as Vanessa? Her Speed & Stamina are high, to compensate for her poor Stealth & Repair.

Most Vanessa mains, as well as Chads and Jennys, can manage quite well with 2 in repair.  It's common knowledge at this point.

Likewise. It saves me the trouble of having to run people over when I'd really rather not.

ahah you must be a new player. Any experienced player knows you can easily manage the repair system with Vanessa by cancelling the undesired repair wheel. So yes, Vanessa is extremely OP.

I can relate with a LOT of these scenarios. Biggest ones for me are:

1. Taking the Keys or Fuse when they're sitting next to the objective.

2. People escaping alone (Tommy doing it is the biggest peeve)

3. Dumb characters putting in objectives when a smart character is right next to them.

4. People who have done nothing all game wanting a ride or stealing an objective you've fixed up by yourself.

5. People hiding the whole game

6. People waiting at an exit the whole game after cops are call.

7. Doors wide open.

8. People searching the same cabin as you.

9. People following you

10. People bring Jason to you when there are other places to lead him.

Amen to that. Though QP is usually cancer when it comes to finding people helping one another but when I find more than one knife, I share it with a player I see actively trying to get tasks done and not trolling Jason and others. I main Mitch so I do Lone Wolf it around rather than stick in a group and I prefer when there is a group distracting Jason away from Objectives such as the phone house is to just drop the fuse by the phone house and try to lure Jason away and let us Lone Wolfs on the map slither in like snakes and do the objectives quickly before Jason knew what happened. What peeves me is that the Jason fighters usually hold the Fuse and don't drop it or they fight Jason around the phone house instead of luring him away from that entire area. A lot of people bitch at me for not helping them fight Jason at all because they never saw me once but I was the invisible snake on the map that snuck in and repaired the cars and hone in on the Fuse box trying to remain undetected by Jason.

Ah, you must have a habit of presuming. I have been playing since the release of the physical release, and am lvl currently 106. Whether that makes me "new", I will leave for you to decide. But again, I disagree, Vanessa is not OP. It's like when people call PtVIII Jason "lesser". There is no lesser Jason, it just boils down to which strength you want. Sometimes I can get by with Vanessa's repair, other times I alert Jason to my attempt at repairing, and have to back away before trying again.

LOL no one says J8 is "lesser", perhaps you meant J7.   The reason people say she is OP is that she excels in the best stats the skilled player can take advantage of.  While I wouldn't say she better by a wide margin to other counselors, as she does have faults, she is the best counselor most of the time.  The only time I see her having a issue is while wrestling a objective with Jason and there is no better repairer in the proximity.  But while Jason isn't around, she, and for that matter every counselor, can repair without alerting Jason.

Trust me bro, people who play in groups that know what they are doing always have at least 2-3 vanessa's in them and they will make mince meat outta Jason easy. I've played some pretty insane Japanese players and you will never catch them. I've seen them juke a player for 15 min then kill him and the Jason was decent...it was insane.  Vanessa should have 1 repair and she should stumble when afraid equal to chad's stumbling. I like Vanessa's concept, don't get me wrong but any player using her who knows what they are doing can easily outmaneuver Jason everytime...I have over 1500 hours on the game so i've seen alot, done alot and hands down Vanessa is the best counselor. I escape 90% of the time when I pick her and it gets so boring I have resorted to using Jenny or AJ. I don't even consider myself to be the best Vanessa player either compared to people i've seen run her.

Ehh...Vanessa isn’t OP like some people state but I gotta say Tiffany is damn near up there with Vanessa. She has slightly less speed but the same amount of stamina so she can run for just as long. Sure she only has a 1 repair but her speed, stamina, and stealth can make her pretty well hidden in the game and a masterful juker if used right. She more then likely isn’t going to repair without alerting Jason but she can easily kite Jason for as long as Vanessa can.

Tiffany is OP when it comes to kiting Jason indoors, something that Vanessa has trouble with given how loud she is.

Locking the door at packanack main house. Kite Jason half way across map to car with gas. Just enough time to put in and run to main house to find the door is fn locked.. Thanks, now I'm dead. Glad you made it so Jason couldn't "sneak" in on you the first minute of the match with no abilities...

To reduce my experiences, people who simply don’t play the objectives. That’s selfishness to me at its core and creates all these offshoots of selfish behaviour already mentioned. People who grab the fuse but make no efforts to install it. People who grab/tag repair items but don’t run them to where they need to go. People who don’t escort or help their fellow counselors and just run around looting cabins and juking. People who get the sweater as a third chance at a save instead of using it as it’s intended to kill Jason. People who hide for longer than they need to lose Jason while others risk their lives for the team. These are all caused by people selfishly not playing the objectives as they were designed.

I don't understand the problem.  The way I see it, QP was always meant for selfish play.

Nobody or mostly nobody has a mic, and as a result, everyone is unorganized with zero communication, so why not do your own thing?

QP tends to have lower level or newer players who don't know or don't understand how to play the game.  Those players are just going to weigh you down.  Why should you help them?  They'll learn on their own eventually.

Nobody knows anyone in QP.  It's always random.  Why should anyone care if I escaped by myself?  It's not like I'm fucking over a friend.  I'm never going to cross paths with this person again.

If you don't like this style of play, then go play private with your friends.  You don't have to play QP.  I played a QP game today and escaped in the boat by myself with 2 other players still alive and I was the only one to survive.  Oh well.  I didn't feel bad at all.

I didn't want to start a new thread and this looked like the most applicable thread.  I played last night with a Tiffany (Level 118) who was having her fun with a less experienced Jason.  The cops were there and everyone else had escaped except for the couple people who were killed.  Naturally she was at the escape exit waiting for him (Small HH Map).  He didn't come there so she found him and proceeded to lure him from house to house and back to the exit.  You know the drill.  I personally think this is so rude and disrespectful to all the other players waiting a good 5-6 minutes (in some cases I've seen it happen a lot longer).  In the time she did that, we could've started a new game and had it well under way.

I understand it's a totally different situation if there is not a clear means of escape.  That's fine.  I do that myself.
