Quick Play and the Toxic Children

Oh, I am SO that guy in one very specific condition: in a theater with stadium seating, I tend to sit in the back because in addition to being a cranky old bastard, I'm tall, so people are always bitching if I'm in front of them, even when there's no reason to.

Anyways, I tend to notice who's on their phone during the previews.  Once the main feature starts, you have five minutes to turn off your phone before I stand up, point, and say in a voice that "projects", "STOP LOOKING AT PORN ON YOUR PHONE, THERE ARE CHILDREN IN THE THEATER, YOU PERVERT!"

Works every time.

This is played before every show at the Alamo Draft house.

It's always good to hear a kid you can tell is about 10 or 11 dropping the f bomb continuously. I had one night before last in a match that would make a sailor blush mfer this gd that nonstop. My daughters 18 years old and if I heard her talking that way she'd be so black and blue she wouldn't be able to wear shorts for a month. I killed him then got after his buddy that was the host and he killed the match. What I end up doing after this game pisses me off with kids and an hour of never completing a single match due to hosts quitting is I go play DbD.

What are your worse experiences with QP and the Toxicity of the kids in it?

Outside of the occasional foul mouth, it's not too bad for me as of late.

The greatest thing about being middle aged is that you learn not to give a damn what other people think and you're able to focus on doing things the way you want

That's kinda the mindset most people on the forum have.

I'm over 40. I have no kids, and 50% of the time, Kids behave better then adults in the game. Honestly I find the college age adults to the most common trolls, loudmouth people that harass others in chat more then anyone else.   End of the day, if someone is too loud/rude. I'll go with the good old fashion Mute button.

I feel the same way. The mute button doesn't discriminate by age or maturity. Be an ass, get muted.

I've done that once or twice. The reactions are priceless.

I did not.

The good news is, it was a fast-casual dining restaurant, and we hadn't yet opened for the day.

Without going into detail, let's just say that things stayed... contained in my drawers, so I was able to clean up and go commando for the next ten hours (I was working 13-14 hour days back then).  Never run a restaurant boys and girls, stay in school.  Or go back, like Uncle Bropollo did (for the second time no less).  Unless 60-hour work weeks for $24K a year with no paid vacation sounds like your idea of heaven on Earth, then by all means, go for it.

Just came out of a match with a chad driving away from a group of 3 people who stunned Jason to help with the car.

Later that same match Vanessa was placing traps in front of Jarvis Radio and windows....

Fun game lol still made it out.

I just got out of a game with a particularly loud and annoying squeaker..... screamer is a better word. I would have left the lobby if he had spoken up at all there, but no....... he has to wait until in game. I would have quit if I was playing a counselor just to not have to listen to the little Moron. He tried to be rude, and the other kids in the lobby may have thought he did a good job, but he was just a kid screaming unoriginal insults. I am a dry waller, I have heard the rudest of rude insults beyond what most people here (even the sailors) could possibly conceive of (you have no idea and I don't think it appropriate to go into more detail here). I think I could have taught him a lot about how to insult people, but I cannot lower myself to help morons like that in any way. I was playing Jason, however, and I am not a quitter (at least not if it will interfere with the game for other players).
I just muted him and chased him down. He fought back like a true battle Chad, but he cannot qualify for that either. I have seen a lot of very skilled battle Chads that don't need to cheat. I ate two pocket knives out of this kid and counted 8 sprays used. No sound of drawers opening when he ducked into a house, no sound of anyone dropping an item for him when anyone was nearby, and never saw him pick anything up, except when he did grab another weapon and a one med spray in the cemetery. I managed to slash down two of his friend while fighting, but never him. He was the only one with a seemingly unlimited supply of med spray. I have seen others flaunting their med spray hacks in my face many times, counted up to eighteen times once. Its too bad I keep forgetting to film these and send reports. I will be more diligent in the future.
In the end, I managed to slash down one more of his friends before he dropped another pocket knife and a med spray at the exit to the police. Only got 3 out of 8 in that game. I don't care about the number of kills at all in that one. One of his friends tried to rat out everyone else when I was chasing them, he was kill #2. When I hear anyone trying to rat out their fellow counselors, I am forced to have to deal with said rat to the exclusion of all others until he is a dead rat (when this happens it can be an unhindered escape for all others if they are trying to escape, but usually, I get them pretty quick). Fortunately, the screamer stuck with the rat so I could make sure he wasn't picking up more stuff. When the rat was slashed down, he dropped no items (neither did the other two I killed). Another thing I noticed was the screamer never ran out of stamina and I stayed right on him the entire time, even most of the slashing that struck down the three counselors also struck him. The worst part, of course, was that I did not get the satisfaction of killing him.

I remember a buddy and I were playing a match together and we killed Jason. We were polite with our banter and whatnot, we said good game and that was really close yaddayadda. At that moment the child that was helping us, the Jarvis player decided to yell at the top of his lungs "DIE FUCKER!!!" No one talked after that, not even the Jason player, the lobby went silent... We both sat there feeling bad for that poor part 7 Jason. Must've been humiliating... It still was pretty funny though.

With this patch.. Being a fucking counselor and having to do everything alone on the objectives while they hold onto shit and just run around and play grab ass. I can put the "screamers" on mute.  Not big deal there. The big deal now is..  .   Its too damn easy being Jason in QP .. Too difficult being a counselor in QP.  Much like Pre-Patch it was the exact opposite. .  These developers never heard of "balance" for everyone playing a game.  Being a counselor, Id have ripped all my hair out already if I had any left.  Its frustrating and just pisses you off.  If you're gonna OP the shit out of Jason and I have to go and spend MORE money  on a headset to communicate with stupid ass kids, let the counselors keep their shit (Guns, knives, pocket knives, multiples of them)  so they have a chance to escape alone (without relying on other douchers)  .  Tadaaa!!!! BALANCE for EVERYONE.  Novel concept isn't??

Yea its based on a movie but its NOT a movie.  So stop treating it like it is.   If I want to lonewolf and not rely on idiots, I should damn well have the right to do so without getting snuffed out for it.

I knew something was off with this patch when the first time I played Jason I killed 7/8 in about 10 minutes. And I had only played Jason maybe half a dozen times before. <_<  That put off the alarm by like "here we go, went from frustrating as Jason to frustrating as a counselor"  NowI just pray to be Jason every time, because of how difficult they made life on counselors..  Being Jason last patch wasn't even as frustrating as being a counselor now.  Sure I got gang-banged every now when but I didn't have to be Jason very often so it wasn't that bothersome and I could still get a few kills anyways.

Now lonewolfing trying to hit objecticves on my own, you;re basically committing suicide unless you just happen to "luck out".

They really didn't "Op the shit out of Jason".

He got a slight speed increase that lets a running Jason catch up to a deborah over a pretty good distance. They also fixed his grab range so he could grab someone who was in a small bathroom with him.

The items that they took from counselors were never being used to escape anyway. All those extra pocket knives and bats were being used to troll Jason at the gate in front of the cops.

Why does a game have to be "balanced for everyone"? What is wrong with having teamwork as a prerequisite for success? Nearly every MMO I have played for the last 20 years required teamwork. Why is it all of a sudden people want to play multiplayer games but do it on there own?

Because the "teamwork" aspect is almost non-existent in this game.  Even the coordinated counselors that gang up can be picked off one by one with slashing and quick grab/kills before the chain stun goes into effect.   The OP'ing Jason mixed with hurting the counselors as far as weapon options, pocket knives, guns  etc. hurts balance.   Games have to be balanced for everyone playing the game.   It shouldn't be a CAKEWALK for the killer and hard as hell for the hunted with not much opportunity to escape (especially if you're team SUCKS and aren't coordinated at all. Which is of course, about 95 percent of QP) .   Pocket Knives can be used much easier to escape if you are close to finishing the objective with a car/boat etc.  Gives you that little extra time needed.

Point is, if you're team isn't coordinated, you should have the option to " go it alone"   What else are you to do?  Sit around and wait for people to figure out what to do while they hold onto stuff thats needed to complete objectives?? Nope...

Sure.. Its great for private match players, playing with their buddies.  But I go it alone. I play QP.  I don't have "buddies" on this game.  Nor should be a requirement or should a fucking Headset be a requirement either

I don't find it to be all that hard as a counselor. I survive about as often as I get killed and I rarely have a team to coordinate with.

As for it being a cakewalk for Jason, that's only against really bad players in QP. Even a halfway experienced team in QP that tries to do more than 1 thing at a time will hold Jason to only 4 or 5 kills.

Nobody in this match was communicating yet this Jason still had a bad day.

A few years ago when I was on my Call of Duty Binges, I never needed to "communicate" and Have "buddies" to play a game on multi-player for the team to win.  If I don't need it on COD , I see no reason why I should need it now.

didn't need headsets, and all the other nonsense pre patch of this game.  Why is it almost a "must" now all of a sudden?   If I wanted to go it alone pre-patch I could go it alone and escape.  there was no relying on anyone.  Now its not the case, especially as a repair counselor.

If you want to play online, you should be able to play online.  I shouldn't have to freakin SOCIALIZE to play a damn game

...Dude, stop being so over dramatic.... in ever topic, belting out the same sob stories of how you think Jason is too OP.

I've escaped with randoms, with no mics.. all the damn time.  And so do many others.

They ain't gonna give you a bag full of guns and bullets.  You need learn to enjoy dying in this game,.    Have you tried, some herbal remedies?

This has been a long time coming. There seems to be a shift in the dynamics of gaming. In the old days, it was all about teamwork. People loved getting together with friends and family and spending hours on end playing games and bonding over them. Nowadays, it's every person for themselves.

Call of Duty and Friday the 13th aren't the same, so you can't really use that comparison. I can see your frustration, but this game changes. Players change with the game. A lot that don't want to change walk away from it. It is still possible to lone wolf it. It's a bit more challenging, but it can be done. Try looking at matches from a different perspective, and you might get back to surviving on your own.

I just don't get this. I'm, by far, not the best player I know. Up until F13:Game came out, I hadn't been a "gamer" for more than 20 years...........and I don't have the problems you're talking about.

I survive about 60%-65% of the sessions I'm in. 25% of those are going solo. I fix cars, fuse boxes, find gas, batteries, the fuse. I call police. I'm all in it.

When there are good people, I use teamwork. When there aren't any good people, fuck'm and leave'm to die by Jason's machete while I escape on my own. If I don't escape, I still played well and Jason got 1 more for Mommy.

Now on the real.........I'm pretty anti-social. I don't like most people. I HATE online gaming and I see passed all of that because I love Friday the 13th. I hate all the bugs, glitches, trolls, Trump supporters, racists and slimeball people I encounter in QP sessions, but I see passed all of that cause I love Friday the 13th. I bad mouth Gun Media and Illphonic and feel like they could've used all the time they've put into DLC and extra content to actually fix their game........but I continue playing cause I love Friday the 13th.

Jason isn't OP now. Councilors aren't OP now. If you're having an issue escaping, change your strategy. If you're having an issue killing councilors, change your strategy. If you don't, keep doing your thing and keep being killed or teabagged. That simple.

This is a game of STRATEGY.........nothing more. It doesn't require teamwork, but it's so good when you can have a little of it with like-minded players.

Unless I'm playing with friends, I mute everyone on the lobby. First thing I do when they pop up, and this is why. Not just kids, but other toxics. This game seems to draw them in.
