Quick Play and the Toxic Children

Pretty much what the title says

What are your worse experiences with QP and the Toxicity of the kids in it?

When i enter a room and hear children voices I usually exit the room and try for another.  Maybe its because I'm a parent and feel guilty playing such a gory game that they prob should not be playing(damn I'm that old guy already..). Same if I hear adults saying childish things and throwing insults before the game starts. Just my preference..

They try to work with Jason often, sometimes even giving up other counselors positions. Lot of rage quitting too.

I really don't have bad experiences with toxicity or children. The mute button is my best friend in a QP lobby.

I check out the host's level. If the host is one of the kids and a low level, I'm thinking the likelihood of a host quitting goes up and it will be a waste of a match regardless. As long as the host is level 20 or more, I'll at least give one game a shot.

Playing with kids is a double edged sword for me. As a less-skilled, adult player, sometimes it means the kids won't really know the mechanics of how to win or play as either a counselor or Jason and gives me an easier time completing challenges and succeeding at the game. On the other hand, when these kids end up being better than me at the game it hurts my pride a little bit.

There is a thread all about toxic players. 

Also no matter what there will be toxic kids in the game, just mute and move on.

Kid: Hey, i'll tell you where the others are

Me: *swings at him, misses*

Kid: HEY, I'll let you know where the others are so you can get them

Me: *Swings at him again, saying nothing*

Kid: I'll tell you where they are!

Me: *grabs him and executes the longest kill I have equipped on that Jason*

I believe he quit shortly thereafter.

I find a troll will be a troll. I have played with Kids that trolled and kids that didn't. Just like adults. Sometimes kids are a little louder then others, but you know, they are kids, so that happens. It is when the adult is just as bad. 

I'm over 40. I have no kids, and 50% of the time, Kids behave better then adults in the game. Honestly I find the college age adults to the most common trolls, loudmouth people that harass others in chat more then anyone else.   End of the day, if someone is too loud/rude. I'll go with the good old fashion Mute button.

Kids just play to have fun, most of them are genuine, even if its annoying because they talk too much .   Toxic behavior are the teens looking for laughs from pissing other off.

Had a match with a bunch of level 150 players (one of them rocking a Savini Jason), all adults. It was one of the most HORRIBLE lobbies I have ever encountered. Team killing, Jason teaming, this lobby had it all, a totally poisonous atomosphere. Completely perplexed as to how anyone could find this "fun", I quietly left...

Just saying, it ain't just the squeakers who are assholes.

I like to remind myself of it often whenever my ego starts to spiral out of control.  Nothing to knock you down a peg like your seven year old son blurting out (while in the middle of being disciplined, no less), "Yeah, Dad?  Well, you pooped your pants at work one time!"

I mean I'm at an age where I am no longer embarrassed to tell a girl I do something as silly as read comic books.

Had my worst experience lastnight. A guy joins in while we are chatting and waiting for the timer to run out. We are in a QP session. As soon as he joins he starts saying "America is full of stupid n****rs." "They gonna get invaded." and "I'm gonna gonna be so happy." After that he spends the next 45 second repeating "n****r" over and over. Weird thing is that you could tell he was a young teen and had a British accent. 

He got reported while I ignored the game starting but he ended up quiting not long after.

Oh, I am SO that guy in one very specific condition: in a theater with stadium seating, I tend to sit in the back because in addition to being a cranky old bastard, I'm tall, so people are always bitching if I'm in front of them, even when there's no reason to.

Anyways, I tend to notice who's on their phone during the previews.  Once the main feature starts, you have five minutes to turn off your phone before I stand up, point, and say in a voice that "projects", "STOP LOOKING AT PORN ON YOUR PHONE, THERE ARE CHILDREN IN THE THEATER, YOU PERVERT!"

Works every time.
