I havent been this intrigued in a while but I feel I'll be let down. Is it any good @NthnButAGoodTime?

If you go in believing it's an ACTUAL slasher...then, no.

BUT, if you're looking for a comedy with mild horror elements...then, also no.

HOWEVER, if you're looking for a weird movie with a mildly creepy atmosphere that was filmed in a park I personally went to a few times as a kid, and you like playing "Hey! Where do I recognize these actors from? (80s TV Edition)...then YES, I believe you'll enjoy it.

Were you around for the Late 80s/Early 90s SNL cast? Have you ever visited Six Flags Over Georgia? Do you enjoy being duped into thinking a movie is a slasher based on its marketing or by the general confusion of your local video store? Then you're going to LOVE Funland!

Guaranteed to be a different movie than it's VHS cover predicts!

Wow, I am originally from Douglasville, Ga. About 20 minutes down I-20 from Six Flags. You just hit a nostalgic nerve for me, and I have actually never seen this movie. I will be viewing it as soon as possible.

Anyone seen Scarecrow? https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0341564/

It spawned two sequels. Pretty run-the-numbers B-horror but at least it wasn't Monsturd.

Will have to check this out as well. Been on a horror kick lately, been binge watching American Horror Story, which I admit I avoided for a long time. I thought it wouldn't be any good, but for a cable channel and what it is, I have enjoyed it very much.

I re-watched that film last night because I came across it while going through my old DVD library and whew, while I like B-horror cheese, that one was more unintentionally funny and bad. I wouldn't blame anyone for turning it off, Lol.

To anyone: anyone liked The Dentist? Waxwork? C.H.U.D.? Joyride? The Clown Murders?

I just reminded myself I need to rewatch Toolbox Murders and the remake.

Yes! I need to edit my list to include The Dentist 1 and 2. Love Waxwork the second was alright. Like the first C.H.U.D. as well. Will have to check the other three you mention here.

Do you like any of those dramatizations of real life killers? Like Dahmer, BTK, Ed Gein, etc?

I find those to be somewhat mixed bag. Some of them are not bad and others just seem to miss the mark. Biggest one that stands out to me is that while I love Kane Hodder's work, he in absolutely no way resembles Ed Gein, nevermind the fact that that movie was horribly inaccurate.

Agreed. What gets me the most is how inaccurate most things surrounding Gein are. The man had two victims. Was most notably a grave robber and Hodder just was not the guy to play the part. Have seen a few on Dahmer, only one I liked. Saw one on Bundy that was decent. Haven't seen the one on BTK yet, will have to look into it. Summer of Sam was alright when I first saw it, but it has been years since I have seen it. Not sure if it has the same charm that it did then.

The ones I like are these:

Dahmer - https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0285728/?ref_=tt_rec_tti

Gacy - https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0330181/?ref_=tt_rec_tti

Bundy - https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0284929/?ref_=nv_sr_3 I liked this one a little bit better than https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1235059/?ref_=nm_flmg_act_38 but it wasn't all that bad either.

Gein - https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0230169/?ref_=nv_sr_1

BTK - https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0475302/?ref_=tt_rec_tti was a bit better than Kane's version IMO.

Hillside Strangler - https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0376649/?ref_=nm_flmg_act_119

That's all I can think of off the top of my head.

The Dahmer and Bundy ones you have listed are the two I liked. Haven't seen that Gein one, but the synopsis has the story right, so I have to check that one out. Forgot about the Gacy movie. It was good, especially how the mood and atmosphere painted the dread of the victims. Haven't seen the Hillside Strangler one.

On a side note, I used to be apart of the civil war reenactments in Ga before I moved (portrayed both Union and Confederate) and one of the older gentlemen I had the pleasure of working with's sister was one of Bundy's last victims before he made it to Florida. Very sad what it did to that man's family. It destroyed his parents.

Jeez, man. There are no words. That's really rough. I can only imagine what kind of Hell he and his folks had to go through. I do hope they found some kind of closure since that weasely piece of shit fried.

I do believe he did more than his parents. He was a kind older man, his sister was one of the FSU victims, so it actually happened in Florida before he was caught. Been a couple of years since I have seen the guy but he was always the life of the party when we got together down in Clinton, Ga.
