Patch 01.30.2018 - Bug, Glitches, and General Issues

Recommended Posts

Roy's music isn't able to be adjusted on PC/Steam. Maybe it's a bug. It's loud.

I don't know about the other platforms.

Also, Reggie is missing from the counselor list for iconic Pinehurst's map role out:rolleyes:

Please fix Tiffany's ring that she wears with her casual outfit on the Xbox version (Not sure if present on other platforms)! It changed from itsĀ normal silver color to purple and has been like that since the Halloween costumes were released. I know this is a bug because it changes back to silver when wearing the sweater.Ā Please, please fix this!

Edit: Was just playing a match with Tiffany in her yellow shirt and equipped the sweater and her ring changed to yellow. So now it looks like her ring isĀ purple,Ā and when you equipped the sweater it changes color to match whatever shirt you're wearing. Please fix this and change it back to silver, regardless of outfit choice. Thanks.

1. Jason stuck in the break window animation.."E"...and becomes powerless...can grab but can't execute kill until becoming un-glitched via pocket knife or counselor melee attacking him.Ā  This is one of the worst glitches, still waiting for it to be fixed.

2. As a counselor, placing traps near door still not possible.Ā  Instead of setting trap, it will try to lock/unlock door.Ā  This was a problem in last patch and still exists in this patch.

3. Played as Tommy and got stuck in swimming animation...swam on land.

Had the game crash on xbox again... I was Tommy on Pinehurst just running to the next cabin.

Edit: Also had an offline match on Pinehurst that only spawned 1 car and the phone.

You can't place then too close. Line yourself up on the edge of the door frame to center it, turn slightly one way or the other until it allows you to place it.

The car rubber banding glitch is still present. When Jason smashes the car, the driver will try to run away but will beĀ stuck at theĀ car door for about 5 seconds after they exit, leaving them out in the open to get attacked by Jason. This bug has been here since the last patch or two.

Couldnt kill Roy. He was on his knees, I was Tommy with an axe, I hit him to down to his knees ans smashed the "E" button but it just won't let me finish him.

Same thing happened to me on Xbox. Although I saw some PC gameplay where they were able to kill Roy successfully so Idk if it's just a random bug or what.

Don't try to place a trap facing the door,Ā stand against the wall parallel with the door and place it. This will place it as close to the door as possible, it's placement is also slightly less obvious to Jason. Barely any part of the trap will be visible to him while he's breaking the doorĀ and the way the door breaks the pieces will cover the trap for the most part.

Ā

BUGS/ISSUES:

  • Roy's Music is max volume and can't be adjusted on PC.
  • STILL unable to place traps anywhere near a door, the most effective place to put counselor traps. Jason also has issues placing traps at doors. This makes traps useless because if they are placed ANYWHERE ELSE, they can be avoided easily. The activation prompt to close the door prevents placing traps near doors, it seems.
  • Traps will act glitchy in your hand if you try to place them near a door.
  • Window "collision barrier" is still present during counselor window climbing/jumping animations, preventing Jason from attacking them during this time.
  • Jason's melee is SLIGHTLY better due to the speed boost, but I'd like to see a very minor weapon hitbox size increase in the future. Also still has trouble hitting crouching counselors most of the time(for those that know crouching makes them untouchable).
  • There is a gap between Tommy's chest skin and his jacket, allowing you so see through the character.
  • Counselors can glitch themselves behind the boombox/stereo in Violet's room on Pinehurst.
  • Counselors can climb into a "nook/cranny" in the Higgin's barn to be untouchable by Jason.
  • Counselors can climb onto the large rock separating Higgin's camp from the main Higgin's house. Jason can too, but it allows for looping behavior because he can only climb up on one spot.
  • Counselors can still hit Jason through UNBROKEN destructible doors and walls. All doors and walls need to be programmed to act like "cabin walls" for counselors to prevent weapons from clipping through and hitting Jason. For one thing, add the "rebound" animation as well as make them impermeable to counselor attacks.
  • Gunshots and flares cannot travel through holes in partially destroyed doors and walls.
  • The roof of Pinehurst can be glitched onto, repeating the issue with the previous Packanack roof glitchers.
  • Not ENTIRELY sure but it MAY POSSIBLY be the case that attack canceling(canceling an attack by pressing block) is not currently possible. Would be nice if we could, in the case that any related exploits are patched away.

FUTURE PATCH WISHLIST:

General/Bugs

  • J5/Roy's "baby blue" coveralls changed to the proper "spruce green" that they were in the film. Check my thread for proof.
  • Adjust J5's shears to be "open" so that it's more convincing when attacking with them.
  • Most textures(especially clothing, but excluding skin textures) are darkened during "rain" to better reflect real life. Currently, the only change is that everything gets shiny. It doesn't look wet, it looks like it's slathered in Vaseline. Real objects become dark when wet, especially clothing.
  • Traps can be placed near doors again.
  • Window collision barrier is removed.
  • Melee attacks no longer activate the "window destruction animation." Only the "activate" button does that, allowing for both "at launch" melee window attacks AND the button prompt window attack to exist simultaneously.
  • Cabins with the potential to "lock-out items,"(locking a repair part inside and then exiting through a window or quitting so no one can retrieve it), are patched to prevent this scenario. A few rooms in Pinehurst have this potential as well and should be looked at.
  • Jarvis map vacation house gets some terrain adjustments to allow players to climb back inside through windows, and restore the basement door.
  • Counselors should not scream when Jason is near if he is submerged underwater.
  • The range to activate a counslor's scream should be reduced significantly. The scream acts as an early-awareness of Jason and unfortunately hurts Jason's ability to sneak.
  • Counselors should not scream if they see Jason from a long distance beforehand. The scream should activate when Jason suddenly comes into view within a short range.
  • Counselors should not scream in Jason's presence if their camera is not pointed at him at the time that he appears near them.
  • Counselor-to-counselor combat lock-on needs to be removed.
  • Allow Jason to switch targets with his combat lock-on.
  • Counselors can no longer attack through intact doors & walls and cannot clip through them.
  • Gunshots and flares can travel through holes in partially broken doors & walls.

Balance Changes

  • J7 gets reworked Pros & Cons to be on par with other Jasons' effectiveness. I vote for either +Rage(faster rage accumulation) or +Fear(much higher fear effects).
  • Jasons can close doors and even bar exterior cabin doors, but can't lock any doors without a bar, to prevent item lock-out scenarios.
  • The visual range Jason must be in for his "map icon" to appear should be reduced by about 10-20%. Jason's map icon should not appear when he is using stalk, even if spotted by a player.
  • Can "throw" counselors back to the ground after grabbing them in the case that a more valuable target, like an escaping vehicle, requires J's attention, rather than completing a kill animation.
  • Throwing knives can break the phone box.
  • Jason's throwing knives become unblockable.
  • Place "Stalk" asĀ  the second ability and "Sense" as the last. This will both make Jason sneakier and allow counselors to be stealthier, improving gameplay on two fronts.
  • Sense overall needs a slightly longer cooldown, up until Rage, otherwise stealth and composure don't mean much when Jason can spam Sense until someone is found.
  • Stalk currently has the same length for all Jasons, and only the cooldown is effected. Change Stalk to have varying lengths while moving depending on Stalk potency. -Stalk would have the current length at about 20ish seconds, normal stalk would have 30ish seconds, and +Stalk would have 40ish seconds, WHILE MOVING. The "stationary" Stalk time for all Jasons would be the same at about 3 minutes as usual. Potentially, consider making Stalk last slightly longer as time passes, similar to how Sense has a larger range as time passes. Maybe all stalk levels would get an additional +10 seconds of movement time by the 15 minute mark.
  • Reduce the time counselors are "stun-locked" when getting repeatedly attacked by Jason.
  • Stunning Jason is not quite as much of an issue with the new weapon distribution, but perhaps take a look at what a "progressively stronger stun resistance" could do to the balance. Say, Jason gets 3-5% more resistant to stuns, per stun, up to a certain cap, which would be perhaps 5-8 stuns worth of additional resistance. If this is done then I say it should be "per stun" based rather than "time elapsed" based. This could improve Jason's ability to deal with chained attacks and mob attacks so that attacking Jason would be a less attractive tactic for counselors.
  • Jason can pick up and re-set traps that have not been stepped in.
  • Jason can "overwrite" a previously tripped trap with one of his remaining traps. I.e. Jason can place a new trap exactly in an old trap's location after it has been tripped.

But before you could place traps really close to the door. I believe it was before the shelly update when it worked.Ā  It's easy to trap Jason there especially when he "rages" through the door.

They should also make it so that during Stalk, the sound of the doors breaking cannot be heard unless you're 5 meters away from the door, this should surprise counselors.

@VoorheesAJollyGoodFellowĀ Also about the Weapon clipping through Doors, I agree that should be removed, But i think that when Jason starts breaking down the door and you can see through the other side and it's pretty wide, The counselors should still be able to whack Jason.

No, I wouldn't go that far. I'd rather that actions like picking up throwing knives and setting traps would make no sound. It kind of doesn't make sense to silently chop wood.

Actually, about the door breaking being silent, It actually is a thing except I believe you have to be like at leastĀ 10 or 12 meters to hear it. @VoorheesAJollyGoodFellow

And I agree that the knives shouldn't make a sound, Maybe a slight increase in the Animation because it's kinda slow.

I know. They basically made it so no part of it can go into the door. I'd say it's working just fine. I still have no trouble placing them. Like I said, line yourself up against the door frame and adjust as needed. You'll get it nice and centered as close as possible to the door.

The "anti-trap zone" around doors is FAR too large. I can understand if they wanted to disable the ability to place traps within a closed door frame, but we should still be able to place traps right next to the door. I'll be uploading videos soon showing the problems with door frames and traps soon. Whatever they've done, they need to either remove it or reduce the zone by 75%.

I would rather it be that if a trap is placed within the door frame(and I mean, INSIDE the frame, not "anywhere within 20 goddamn feet") then the door won't close, but don't remove the ability to place traps in door frames. That's just bad.

In all my matches since this trap and door change happened, I see traps near doors about 1% of all the matches I play. It truly killed traps as a defense mechanism.

Again, I haven't had any problems placing them right up against the door. Please tag me when you upload the videos so I can check it out. I also just noticed you're on steam, that might be the difference. I'm on xbox.

It could be platform-based, but on steam the range of the anti-trap zone is so huge any Jason can avoid even the closest traps unless you just get lucky in placing it.

On the PS4:

If I had a dollar for every time this game crashed, I'd be able to buy 22,693Ā fake Savini Jason codes from eBay.

The menu is STILL not showing that the fuse has been installed!

As a counselor, atĀ a certain time in the game (not sure why or when)Ā IĀ no longer am able to interact with objects (windows, weapons, etc) unless (if I have a pocket knife) Jason picks me up and i break free. This has happened before the update too.

When I first got this game, it was in Jason's favor. Then an update put it in the counselors'Ā favor. NOW, it's back in Jason's favor and it feels a bit unbalanced. I think you took away TOO MANY pocket knives. I would like the same amount of pocket knives back, but perhaps spread out more (random tables, rocks, etc) so you have to really hunt for them.

One of you posts sounds really discouraging as far as Paranoia coming out. I sincerely hope it works out cause it sounds like a lot of fun!

I also feel like recycling the same type of cabins is part of what's making the game feel a little redundant. I love the new houses in Pinehurst so perhaps something along those lines? I think a boat/Manhattan map would be great. Also a Jason in Hell map. Perhaps an area with a Diner. So many ideas but reusing the same old cabins is my complaint.

I also think other game modes would be great. A multi-player story mode that aligns with events in the movies,Ā a mode where you have to look under beds for children in order to escort them off the campsite, etc.

I feel like the Offline Bots are not much of a challenge, even on Hard. I would love it to be more difficult, and be able to play offline as a counselor.

This new Jason is freaking awesome and perhaps my favorite but I'm kind of upset it's not really Jason.

I do love this game. It is so much fun to play. I just wish it was structured a little more sound.

Thank you!
