X just felt like a quick cashcow. "Oh! Lets set it in space! That'll bring em in!" Really though my issue was the bad acting and the fact that it was just kind of boring as an F13 movie.

Boring? seeing the same exact movie over and over got boring...

tho change isn't always better jgth was boring but at least with x the rules got thrown out the window and was original..

Just my opinion though we all are entitled to those.

X is my second favourite, behind Freddy vs Jason. My 3rd favourite is the 2009 one.  All the others have aged terribly.

My only issue with Jason X is the acting. Other than that, it's just a typical Friday film, but in space.

Jason X isn't a good movie but it's fine for a laugh. It's oddly colorful- cartoony at times. The acting isn't quite as good as some are making it out to be. It feels like an episode of a Power Rangers show mixed with a SyFy movie. It's not a unique or original concept. I can say the pacing is good though and some of the deaths are interesting.

The general design of Jason and Uber Jason were disappointing at the time. The pre-Uber Jason look has grown on me but Uber Jason is still a walking joke. The fake muscles and awful red contacts mixed with the rubber "metal"- like I said, Power Rangers.

I'm the type that likes to watch a series of films from start to finish and so I find continuity between films kind of important. In this respect it all starts to go wrong with part 8 and x is just taking the piss.

Suppose it helps to think of Jason as not just the continuation of one physical body, but more of a ghost that can physically manifest time after time. Like Victor Crowley from Hatchet, returning from death no matter what you do to him. It kinda ruins the overall story that you have to make that stuff up yourself though, and horror series' seem to be rife with it in general.

This may be one reason why fans of the franchise disrespect it, and also the fact that it's lame syfy-channel-esque vibe seems to cheapen the franchise somewhat.

Saying that, I still love all the F13 movies and have watched them countless times, and because I practically know them off by heart, I usually fast forward to the memorable moments anyway.

The franchise rocks and we need more, whatever shape or form it takes, continuity or not. The game would benefit from any content related to the films, so bring it on.

Cannot wait for uber Jason to be added and have a go with the grendel map.

I think aesthetically its not a good fit .... the Jason most people love is an eighties set, woodland, lake side, camp and cabins setting. For me its the setting that makes Friday the 13th almost as much as anything else.

I think you could stretch it a bit and have Jason in other similar settings ... but a shiny Jason in future outer space is too much of a departure. If you remove the Jason name is there anything truly Friday the 13th about the Jason X?  The closest bit is the holographic representation of Camp Crystal Lake, which kind of proves the point.

If you only watch this movie to see Jason do his thing then it can be entertaining. The whole storyline, cheesy and poor acting and bad cgi really brings it down a lot. And being in space is not creative.

I know most don't watch these films for good story telling, but this one makes it too obvious that its hard to ignore. A lot of the horror elements aren't even there despite being one of the more gore fest F13ths. I call this movie the Power Ranger of all F13th films.
