They may update it. An I believe you on the textures part. It being a kickstarter produced game I can understand the graphics looking the way it does. On the other hand the models look good in the dark settings. I don't know I like how they looked when you saw them in the virtual cabin if you have your settings on Ultra. Needless to say I'm sure someone can answer this for you but it may be a no to future updates till otherwise.

What models are you referring to the ones in the virtual cabin?

This is all the worse counselors looks. Your skin is too smooth looks like a plastic doll.

I would say that is because it has too smooth skin and eyelashes stand out too much about the rest of the face.

It's just a matter of texture as the facial modeling is good.

I think everyone has too bright in the skin, as if they were plastic almost. But this guy is very rare and artificial compared to the others.

There will be some more polishing up as this get close to wrapping up. Is it going to look like uncharted or tomb raider? No, you have to keep in mind this is still an indie project but I think it look amazing. The old F13 councilors look like this

So I think it's a step in the right direction :)

XD I love that game ^^,

I think the only thing they must upgrade is the skin texture.

Anyway, I love the game ^^ For now i have the virtual cabin  (a friend gift it to me) and I'm saving up to buy the game when i can preorder on steam =D

Yea I would think polish and cleanup would be a last kind of priority deal. Skins looking a bit clean and polished, but otherwise modeling is looking good. Like it was said earlier it's probably met for a dimmer environment. Looked good in the E3 demo.

the textures are ok.  great, even.  there are a lot of developers that would like their games to have this level of graphics and quality of models and details.

maybe there will be more improvements, though overall, it's still in alpha and there might be updates, but even as is,

it already looks generations better than NES F13th and some other games.  :)

some might be expecting Until Dawn graphics

or Siren 2 graphics and art direction (which for a PS2 game, is photorealistic compared to a lot of modern games with high graphics but unrealistic art direction)

though performance is key, so graphics level is not as crucial as overall framerate and other things.

I'd heard (like a year ago) that they were investigating some new hair processes / shaders for UE4.  Though, looking at the head councilor's hair, I don't think it's been implemented.  At a guess, currently the hair is just a series of layered planes with alpha'd textures applied to them.  Though, I could be wrong.
