My favorite is part 6.

I think there is some other threads on this topic. But my favourite is the reboot

I honestly think part IV Jason was one of the best. I love baghead (part 2), but, I really think Part IV was brutal. Part 6 was fun. He moved like he was pissed off the whole time.

My favorite would definitely be Part IV. It had likable characters, great music, a bunch of memorable scenes, quotes and kills, a Jason who's cunning and stealthy as well as incredibly brutal in direct confrontations, and a resourceful protagonist who makes sure that the killer actually stays dead. Aside from actually taking place at the summer camp, it has every ingredient that comes to mind when I think of Friday the 13th.

Part VII, IV and VI in that order.
I always loved the 7th instalment because you can feel the pop culture of that time running through it. A little nod to Carrie for example. It was something completely different then before, but had enough from the same to not rub me the wrong way. I love how Jason looks in Part VII so menacing, even when he was full Zombie in that movie.

Part IV delivered a believable ending to a monster. Jason was still this menacing killer where you didn´t know if he has any kind of superpower. The characters were good, the soundtrack was nice and the ending was surprising.

Part VI continued something, that could have become terribly bad. They got Jason back on track. It was a little goofier, but that was also a thing i liked.

Part 2.  I've loved it since I was a kid.  Ginny rocks.  After recently watching all 12 movies, my top 3 are 2, 4 & 6.

Although I have to say I think V is the funniest one.  I don't remember laughing so much during that one.  I love it that Ethel dies with her face in her goddamned stew aka fc*king slop after constantly yelling at Junior to come eat it.

I think 8 is by far the worst one.  The only parts I like watching are Jason punching the guy's head off and when he takes off the mask to scare the kids on the street.  Oh, and maybe killing the annoying professor by throwing him face first into the barrel of acid after throwing him through a window.

part 4 is the best overall movie as not to be rude to part 6 as its my second favorite movie it doesnt have the best kills as they were censored alot part 4 is only slightly censored the only big one being Axel choking on his blood

but heres a video list of something i thought was really good and is a amazing channel please check it out (P.S i think his rating of part 3 is the only bad thing)

Part 4 the Final Chapter or Part 6 Jason Lives...They both are equal in my book.

Part 8 (Jason Takes Manhattan/Vancouver) is my favourite but I believe the best film of the bunch is the original.

If the director was allowed to make the movie his way and also have all the unedited kills, Part 7 would have been my favorite. I still like it though.

I have to split Jason in half between 5 and 6.

From Parts 1 - 5, Part 4 is my favorite. Followed closely by 3 then 2; not so close is 1 and further is 5. Parts 1 and 5 have their moments but without Jason, it's just not enough.

From Parts 6 - Reboot, Part 6 is my favorite. Followed closely by X, 7, FvJ, a little bit of distance for 8 and 9 much distance for the Reboot.

The reboot is a good slasher movie, but not a good Jason movie. FvJ wasn't the best performed Jason but he was well represented as a character, and I love the movie overall. Part 8 was a cluster but everything about Jason was on point. And Part 9 was fun but not enough Jason.

Before really getting into Friday the 13th, I often overlooked Kane Hodder's contribution, but he really is the major redeeming factor for all the flaws of each of his movies. 75% of the movies is Jason for me, so if he comes off right, then I'm sold.  Kane is the definitive Jason. It takes me a minute to adjust to 3 - 6 Jasons, but from 7 - X, through the silly look of Part 9 and the overly augmented look of Uber Jason; the minute he comes into frame, I know that that's Jason.

The same way Robert Englund brings the correct life to Freddy, Kane does the same for Jason.

The original and Part 6 are my favourites - but it's hard to go past Ted White or Kane Hodder as my favourite Jasons.  Kane I like because he respects the role and made it into his own - Ted I like for his sheer relentlessness and brutality - not to mention that I also think both actors add an extra dimension in the body language of the character that other actors didn't bring to the table, IMO.

The original gave us the playground we're all in now - and Part 6's meta-humour and the nods to classic monster movies and Gothic archetypes are fantastic (and Alice freakin' Cooper in the soundtrack. Enough said).

i dont get why people liked part 5 i get you might think i dislike it just because its not Jason but it was too obvious it was Roy and the kills sucked and it just is sleezy when it comes to the nudity as the guy who directed it originally did pornograthy

I don't get it either. I just finished watching it the other day (since childhood), and I was at least expecting some awesome kills, but no. They all were lame and all you saw was his hands for the first 95% of the movie.

The only things good about it were the opening scene, Ethel, the titties and Pam's titties through the wet shirt at the end.

And if you didn't know going into it, it's not obvious or satisfying that it's Roy. Just like Roy's son....the idea was retarded.
