In many matches last night I would raid a couple of cabins and the police would be on their way. Granted the Good Sport Club on PS4 is full of good players. However it was too easy to escape good Jason's too. I literally bumped right into @pioneer67fkd as he came out of shift and ran right past him as he missed his completely useless grab attempt. This game needs some of it's edge back. I hope to see the new patch soon with some changes towards making Jason more deadly and the councilors less likely to escape. It's just way too easy. Jason feels clunky. And as a counselor the thrill of the chase is over.

For me its BEEN too easy to escape as a counselor, as Jason I usually always get 8/8 by the skin of my teeth and I think Im a very advanced Jason, and as a counselor I always escape, and its much much much easier to escape or survive than to catch and kill all 8 characters smh.

A lttle off topic but, I really fail to understand why playing "catch" is the core of the gameplay for every single Jason-??? Why cant some Jasons (like Part 4 and the reboot if he every makes it) easily catch counselor but has more difficulty lets say finding them or difficulty fighting and killing them a faster Jason with no sense and a grab thats useless unless the counselor is limping would be a nice change and add some variety

The grab stinks now. I was right next to a counselor and kept grabbing as they ran circles around me. It was annoying. :(

i tend to agree. i don't think the grab needs to be totally reverted but it definitely needs to be adjusted quite a bit. when we were playing with @pioneer67fkd the other night, i morphed right on top of him and i grabbed right through him. while i did scare the shit out of him, he still ended up jogging away from me pretty easily. going up against jason should be a bit riskier than it is now... and that's coming from someone that dies a lot.

To be fair they should bring the vacuum grab back, I was fine with it.

Jason post-patch reminds me of the Simpsons episode where the cool, hip, popular lead character of a TV series who shares a name with Homer Simpson, is soon turned into a bumbling, comical sidekick. ?

I've watched a few Jason's "bumbling" around trying to grab since the patch. It's painful to watch.

I play on PC with a controller up against a community of mouse and keyboarders. Now I know this game doesn't demand the precision from a mouse like fps's do, but you will be more accurate with it. I just can't bring myself to learn it. Anyway....

Shift grabbing is fine for me right now. And I didn't even have a great night as Jason tonight. Except for my first round as 8 which was spectacular. They almost killed me. They got both the cars and the cops going, and only Tommy ended up surviving. All my shift grabs landed perfect and there were jukers amongst.

After that it was work. J4 on Jarvis, this time when Tommy survived he did it before the last kill. 7/8 but the shift grabbing was terrible. I threw way more punches than I landed. And I whiffed like crazy at close range a couple times. The next round was me as Jason again, back to back but not 3 in a row, just these 2.

Part 7 and it was a disaster and shifting didn't even play much of a part in it. After trapping the phone I morphed to an already completed 4 seater to hear my phone trap go off immediately. These guys play very tightly as counselors, the best I've ever seen. I just gave up. I had my mic in push to talk mode so I wasn't speaking but my actions as Jason (breaking fences, climbing rocks, chopping at trees, etc) made it clear that I didn't care, but they missed all of that cause of how hard they were working. I learned that they were threatened by me as Jason and that made me feel good.

But I would have these kinds of shitty nights before the patch, especially with these guys. All my bad shift grabs come from me coming out of shift sideways or backwards, which I can't figure out what I'm doing to make that happen. I have a feeling it's when I start getting nervous, because that's what fucks me up in golf games. I end up moving the joystick just a little too far off.

Isn't that Jasons Job to trap the hell out of the fuse box area and watch it like a hawk?

I'll say it again councelors need to be scared to death of Jason he's OP in the films he should be OP in the game councelors should barely survive in this game but lately I see them "Tea bagging" jason and laughing as they run to the cops!

Also every session every counselor should only get 1 knockdown on jason after that it should take 3 hits to stun or knock him down

@WashingtonJones You need to start playing with more skilled people.

The only games where I've seen this happen were the ones I played after the patch initially released. I noticed that not only had no one bothered to complete an objective, but that no one had picked up and dropped any items. 3 counselors were left (myself included) in one game and there were no item icons anywhere on the mega map. Having read the patch notes, I checked to see if there had been an update I missed that nerfed it by finding a battery and dropping it, only to see that it appeared on the mega-map per patch notes.

You can still go 8/8, but it has less to do with skill and more to do with the counselors no knowing what to do and/or not trying to learn what to do.

Edit: @PowellCampsNAKED reminded me of something in another thread. All of these new guys leave doors WIDE open. Talk about lack of skill...

That's a great cliche, bullshit line, but I can assure you that you would get smoked by the people I regularly play with. Most people do.

If that's the case, if I'm constantly playing against losers, then there must only be 20 mysterious people that are "skilled" players. Where are all these F13 shaolin monks that everyone is talking about? I've consistently played way too many hours to have missed them.

The only "skill" needed in this game is the ability to anticipate. The mechanics are too dumb to warrant the word "skill". Please stop making yourselves feel better with that word. It's an insult to people with true skills.  "practiced" and "unpracticed" are better words to use.

Here's the deal.....and I would never normally say this (and it's not just directed to you), but you must suck at this game to complain about it so much. You must be actively ignorant to your own mistakes. You enjoyed the free ride of ease but now you have to pay and this game don't charge in tears. So you can put those away and open your eyes. Or go play something else....watch a movie.....take a walk.

I've said it before and I'll say it again:

I can't respect anyone who claims the new patch has improved the game.

They're just bad players who enjoy the fact the difficulty has been lowered dramatically, and make unfalsifiable claims about their skill level as a shield.

The kind of people who prefer a game that gifts them wins every 4/5 games to one that makes them really earn their wins, at a much, much lower rate.

You people are ruining the game. You've taken something bold and unique, and infected it with your own mediocrity.

just played about the 4th time only since the patch as Jason (never hardly chosen) wow the toxic fuckers. Dude told me I was a pussy and he could juke Jason "all fucking day" and "with your grab gone, you'll never catch me", well he did run around tables and the house for about 5 minutes before I got him and his two friends. But it was very, very hard to  grab at all. Half the time my Jason would not be able to swing after a shift until I got stunned. It really just sucks ass playing as Jason now.

Between windows, lack of stacking traps, lack of good hit field, lack of good grabs, lack of Jason being a badass, more like a wimp. Everybody makes fun of him. I remember when you would hear ppl scream when he was coming now they just dance and juke and juke and juke.........I played about 10 games, was Jason once and only got killed twice out of counselor.

On average the Jason's were getting 3-4 kills, one went 8/8 I went 6/8, but that's because it was on Jarvis.

I can't tell if you agree with me or not, or if this is directed at something else. But...

This patch hasn't improved the game, but I'm still enjoying myself. My focus is on shift grabbing which has not been any more of a problem for me since the patch. I can't get mad at broken shit because the shit's broken and there's nothing I can do about it. Those things suck and they're disappointing but it hasn't turned me off to the game. In a sense I incorporate the glitches as part of the gameplay, otherwise I'd end up on the forums here all day, losing my mind, starting thread after thread on how much the game sucks.

I don't think I ever claimed to be great at this game...and I really don't know how well I truly rank. All's I know is I'm good enough to enjoy myself and be able to hang with advanced crews that tighten up a little when I'm Jason. What else can you ask for?....besides a better Jason 7.

I'm getting finding games ending regularly at 2/8, with the police called every match.

Nobody gives a shit about Jason anymore. His fear factor has vanished.

There's no need to explore the map or coordinate either. Within 5 minutes all the parts have been marked, and every specialist just automatically carries out their role.

With the fear factor and the ability to sow confusion gone, Jason is entirely about straight up combat and objective defence now, which he sucks at, because he just gets mobbed as everyone flocks to the objectives asap.

I'm not enjoying the game anymore because there's no challenge as a counselor at all anymore. It's a survival horror game that's a cinch to survive at, and the horror is lost due to making the killer a chump.

It's actually fascinating how a game can go from amazing to crap in one patch, and how a team can fundamentally misunderstand their game so badly.

^This^

also cops really are called like every match almost, especially since 2 or 3 counselors stand by the phone box and basically just chain stun you because the hit box is fucked up, the grab is fucked up and when I come out of shift 80% of the time, i'm in combat stance. and it's klunky  to get out of it. to this day, half the time in game when you try to break a wall in a cabin, it doesn't hit (even hitting R2). I really just don't want to play Jason anymore. I really miss when it was fun and you were a killing machine, not painful and you want your round just to get over, so you can go back to escaping 80% of the time.

I wish this was cross platform. I would love to see what you guys are talking about.

Hey, that used to happen to me until I realized I was pressing my right stick by accident, coming out of shift, in attempt to preposition. Unless there's something else going on with ur platform, you should be able to fix that by paying more attention to your right thumb coming out of shift. Once I started seeing what I was doing, it stopped happening.

In no way disagreeing with the need to fix what they broke with the latest patch, there's some room for adaptation re: straight up combat. Combat stance is pretty broken, but I've been doing OK with Pt 4 and an early focus on stockpiling knives. Face me, and you get about two +Damage whacks for every stun you manage to pull off; run away to get space and I'll peg you in the back with a knife. Once you're limping, I run up and don't stop swinging until you drop. And the sweep damage across closely-packed counselors has been more evident with counselors being bolder about mobbing and Jason's forced focus on slashing. Basically, if you're not grabbing anyone, stunning is much more hazardous to counselors' health.

I'm no god as Jason, my recent experience is still plenty of getting stunned by mobs, which makes map control a lot harder so it behooves Jason to pick a fight at the most dangerous objective (phone or 4 seater). But generally it doesn't take long for the damage and fear to mount up and the stamina to drain, and there's a pile of three or four bodies at the objective after a couple minutes.

The real drawback is that hack & slash combat just isn't what Friday the 13th has ever been about. All the kill content is focused on Jason grabbing and butchering, like he does in the movies. The only way to beat the counselors after the recent patch, though, is to try and slash them all to death as fast as you can.

I think that with the addition of parts showing on the map that now might be a good time to make items spawn totally randomly. Finding car parts near a car, boat parts near a boat and the phone fuse near the phone doesn't need to be a thing any longer.

I still stand by trap spamming being gone as a good thing.

Also having a 2 seat car and a boat as an option is a cool addition.

I feel like the parts have been spawning more random. It's been a lot harder to find shit on all maps now. There are still the moments of gas and battery right next to each other, but not as much as before. It's been like that since the Jarvis map patch.

I dont think it should be so easy to find things. The boat propeller should be an example of how things should spawn. That thing ends up anywhere on the map now.

Yea it’s clear some drastic changes need to be made in order to make Jason feel imposing again. There is just WAAAYYY too much dancing and taunting going on towards Jason as counselor players realize he’s not much of a threat, even in expert Jason players hands. I’m calling for some serious changes, like the removal of the mini map and major tweaks to the chase music as a start. I want to feel empowered playing as Jason and feel like I’m going to pee myself playing as a counselor. I want surviving the night as a counselor to be a real challenge and one that’s tension filled from start to finish. That feeling just isn’t there anymore and it’s directly related to all the tweaks being made that 100% favor the counselors

The dynamic of playing as Jason has changed 100% for Jason since the last update. I've never seen the counselors completely unafraid of Jason before, fucking with him, ganging up on him, teasing him...they all know hes nerfed and that he's no longer a legit threat. Gun Media done fucked Jason up, and it's crippled the character and made it into a completely different game where even the shittiest scrub counselor can easily escape.

It has nothing to do with the patch, it has to do with the new influx of players that purchased the game because of the octuber sale. I've noticed this myself, most Jasons (and counselors) currently are absolutely clueless. They wander around never knowing what they're doing, they don't trap anything... And when they grab you, you get to escape because it takes them a few attempts to figure out that they need to press a number to perform the kill. I had to teach a few Jasons how to trap stuff and allowed them to kill me just to understand how to perform an execution after grabbing xD

And its about damn time they get jason back on track  playing this game since the last patch jason is no longer a threat but the laughing stalk of the community now there's no threat anymore it's gone and tea bagging deserves an instant death i don't care what anyone says.
