    Wrastlin'!

Is anyone or was anyone else here of Professional Wrestling back in the day or currently? I was a WWE fan from 1998-2002, Brock Lesnar seriously killed it for me. I knew he'd be shoved down our throats worse than The Rock. It didn't help that Vince had ZERO respect for WCW stars and without competition, TNA NEVER was competition, he had no reason to sell an even decent product. I follow Ring of Honor and local New England promotion Chaotic Wrestling. I've started getting into IWGP. My favorite wrestlers are still... The Undertaker Owen Hart Nikki Roxx Mick Foley Jay Lethal Austin Aries AJ Styles

    WWE This Week (Spoilers)

This post is my review and opinions of both WWE RAW and WWE Smackdown for this week. As stated these are my opinions and in no way represent fact. I invite anyone who does enjoy pro wrestling to comment here with their own opinions and discussion. Some of what I post are predictions, and some of what I post will be personal preference. Everyone's personal preference is different so I only ask that whatever discussion we have that it doesn't become an "I'm right, you're wrong" with any members who choose to contribute. Because honestly, with pro-wrestling and who you like/don't like ... there is no right or wrong. Raw from 12/25/17 We were in Chicago so obviously there were heavy CM Punk chants. Cena did his usual crowd pleaser promo and Elias interrupted him. I'm really not sure what they even plan to do with Elias other than keep him as a glorified jobber. They start to go into a direction where you think they might be doing something, but ultimately the entire segment was only there to lead into him jobbing to Cena. Don't get me wrong, the match was decent but it served no purpose other than to put Cena over because he decided to show up for that show. We then had a backstage to set up Seth Rollins and Jason Jordan vs The Bar later in the night, for the Raw Tag Championships. I can't tell if this was done to get Jordan more heat or if they are still trying to get him cheered. WWE isn't exactly known for picking up on things these days but nobody gives a shit about Jason Jordan. They need to drop and forget the Kurt's my daddy angle and move on. It didn't work, people don't wanna see Jordan and the only way this works is if they were trying to get him more heat. However, how things work out later in the night it appears as if they are foolishly still trying to get him cheered. Next was Cruiserweight stuff from 205 Live which I always skip out on so I have no opinion or recap here other than to say this entire division is boring af to me. Next: Promo for something I'll talk about at the end of this post. After that and a backstage from the Miztourage (funny as hell) we get Sasha Banks, Mickie James and Bailey vs Absolution (Paige, Mandy Rose and Sonya DeVille). I like the way they are handling Absolution and keeping them a strong force. It was the right thing to do to put them over in this match which is odd for WWE who usually drop the ball with this stuff. But they are keeping this team strong and building them up for a bigger picture down the road which is smart. We have some buildup for Roman Reigns vs Samoa Joe later in the night and how Joe injured Dean Ambrose along with The Bar. Focusing/foreshadowing that Roman Reigns wants to hurt Joe for this. Next we had Kane vs Heath Slater, which was a squash and the only reason this match happened was to try and put Kane over as a monster 20 years into his WWE career. It was a waste of air time really. If that wasn't bad enough a waste of time, Curt Hawkins and his 146 match losing streak only to be squashed by Finn Balor only to make it 147 was more wasted airtime, simply to fill empty space. More backstage shennanigans from the Miztourage setting up the night for them and then a Bray Wyatt entrance as if for a match where he gets attacked by Woken Matt Hardy and retreats. I do like that they are finally building up Matt Hardy, we'll see if it goes anywhere. Roman Reigns vs Samoa Joe wound up in a DQ which protects Joe (rightfully) but allows Reigns to snap, trying to get revenge for what Joe did to Ambrose. The match/beatdown was done well and as I said, protected Joe from a loss or from looking weak as he was assaulted with foreign weapons. Side Note: Reigns was received very positive ... and in Chicago no less. So that was a bit weird but might indicate the Shield experiment worked and he is getting over much more now. Miztourage antics catch up to them as they get a secret santa match against Braun Strowman. This was another match only there to build up Strowman for the upcoming match with Lesnar. Alexa Bliss then cuts a beautiful promo as always, interrupted by Asuka, gets attacked as they tease building Asuka for the Rumble. Alexa was pure gold as a heel and sold the encounter with Asuka flawlessly. Jordan and Rollins defeat the Bar to become new RAW Tag Champs which leads me to believe they simply want to get Jordan cheered, but that will never happen. They just need to let him go full heel at this point. My biggest point and highlight of the night (even though it happened last week) was the replay promos for the 1st ever Women's Royal Rumble Match. This is obviously huge, and with having done Money in the Bank, Hell In a Cell etc, they are ready to take it to the next level. A woman's rumble is going to be amazing. I can see them doing Elimination Chamber for women next. (will review Smackdown after I get some sleep. but feel free to reply here.)

    Lucha Underground - Monster Matanza

I know a few of you guys watch WWE, but I was wondering if you've checked out Lucha Underground yet? Seasons 1 & 2 are on Netflix right now, but that's not what this little post is about. One of the wrestlers is called the Monster Matanza, and I can't quite place my finger on it, but his gimmick seems to draw inspirations from a certain hockey mask wearing killer whose name eludes me at the moment.
