  1. Okay, so I know we just got Offline Bots and we're all anticipating Paranoia, but here's a proposal for a third idea for a game mode: The Stalker If you think about the F13 franchise, almost never did Jason or his mother (or Roy, for that matter) just charge into a large group of people and kill one. Why? Because that would make all the rest scatter -- which is exactly what happens in the game. No, they used secrecy and stealth to pick their victims off one . . . by one . . . by one. Honestly, no one was really scared in those movies until either: The seconds before they were killed. They survived until the final battle. So I propose a game mode where the entire objective (as Jason) is stealth kills. The game mode itself has two mini-modes: Tranquil and Alert. In Tranquil mode: There is no warning "Jason Music". There is no first cinematic death. All is calm at the camp. It begins with someone realizing the car(s)/boat are not working and they need to be repaired. Counselors begin spreading out to find objective parts. The phone ALREADY WORKS, but you have no reason to use it. (However, Jason CAN sabotage the phone -- if he can do so without attracting attention) Doors cannot be locked in this mode. Tommy Jarvis cannot be summoned in this mode. Running is disabled in this mode. Jason can HIDE, just as counselors can, and he is in permanent Stalk mode in Tranquil mode. Jason can also PICK UP, DROP, and HIDE/STASH/HANG bodies that others may or may not later discover. In Tranquil mode, Counselors are singularly focused on getting all the transport modes fixed and, once the items are fixed, counselors can get in them and "leave", rather than "escape". ALL THE WHILE, Jason is watching. He stays in the shadows and waits for the perfect time to strike. When one counselor is alone, he secretly picks them off, then disposes of the bodies by stashing them in hiding places or in the lake. One . . . by one . . . by one. All while in Tranquil mode. HOWEVER, the game immediately shifts to Alert mode if any of the following happen: A counselor sees Jason approaching and screams within range of others A counselor is attacked and escapes death, and is allowed to warn the others A dead/stashed body is discovered, and the discoverer is allowed to warn the others A counselor witnesses Jason killing another counselor, and is allowed to warn the others In Alert mode: The police can be immediately called (if Jason has not sabotaged the phone box) Running is re-enabled "Jason's music" is re-enabled Doors can be locked Tommy Jarvis CAN be summoned in this mode Jason's Stalk immediately drops off and must recharge as normal Jason will receive more XP for every kill he performs in Tranquil mode than he will in Alert mode. Counselors receive more XP for every repair performed/assisted in Tranquil mode than they will in Alert mode. Obviously, this promotes stealth and keeping the round in "tranquil mode" for as long as possible. Escape is possible in either mode, but more points are awarded for expediency. I just feel like this game mode would be more true to the films' style, plus create a great deal of "jump scares". This needs to be more developed as a whole, but what are your initial thoughts? - Skunk
  2. I wanted to talk about 2 things, STALK and SENSE SENSE for Jason to find a counselor, all he really needs to do is flick a switch and the lights turn on, this is something that had always bothered me about the game as it made it too easy for the Jason to know where you are it also limits the ways to avoid Jason, you have no other choice but to run, you can't hide in the bushes or in the closets because he'll know youre there, so your only option is to run but if we are to remove the sense ability, we need to buff his hearing ability, so when he hears a counselor he would have an idea of where to look, but not a pin point location STALK I can't fathom why Jason's stalk ability is given late game and has a meter, why not just give it to Jason at the beginning of the match and make it permanent, counselors having a free music sense ability whenever Jason is nearby makes it too easy, it gives players a sense of security knowing that they will detect Jason whenever he is nearby making the game less scary by making these changes you open up a whole new way to play f13, the games pace will change, the game will no longer be a morph in and chase, you can now actually sneak up on unsuspecting and careless players TL;DR remove SENSE, give Jason STALK at the beginning of the game and make it permanent, and buff Jason's "hearing" sense
  3. I was asked on another thread about what ability I’d rather see in the game instead of Stalk and it got me thinking of a really good idea. I’ll copy and paste the conversation and if anyone else wants to chime in let me know what you think. Also, what ideas do you guys have? Good question! Hmm... maybe a decoy? Like akin to the hologram ability in Halo Reach. It’d be an ability that the player would have to think about and strategically use. Like you could place the decoy at a location on the map but then you can teleport where you really wanna go. You could even set up the decoy at the phone or the car to make people think that Jason is there. Just have a faux Jason walking around looking like he’s chasing someone but instead it’s just a decoy. You could have a lot of fun with a game mechanic like that. You could really fuck with people and I think Jason needs something like that to get the upper hand without going overboard. It sounds crazy, and maybe a little weird but it could work.
  4. The title says it all. I feel like stalk would really benefit from this feature. It's a nice ability and all but if you stalk near a house for an example and try to reach window for possible jumpscare any counselor will hear Jasons footsteps. Thus avoiding leaving the house entirely until stalk runs out or Jason moves in. What do you guys think? EDIT. As other forum user below stated this feature has been added in one of the patches.
  5. When I play as Jason and I turn on stalk, it's my sound that gets silenced. Not only that, I can't hear hardly anything the next rounds I play, unless I shut down and restart steam. Anyone else have this bug or glitch?
  6. So there's this thing with Jason's actions called Stalk. What does it do? All it seems to do is brighten up the screen for a limited amount of time.
  7. I wish I got the Stalk ability before the Sense ability. In the early game sense isn't as needed, given the amount of people and the lack of range on it. However in the early game Stalk is super amazingly awesome, because people still haven't really explored all the buildings so you can actually find a building and "stalk" in it and SCARE THE JEESUS out of someone. But I'm a weirdo
  8. I'll start talking about the state of the game right now. We enter the game, Jason morphs, hopefully near some counselors, few moments later Jason gets Sense, and commits to relentlessly pursue the counselors, unable to hide. This results in the counselor/s getting frustrated, being killed so early in the game without being able to lose his sight. And Stalk is just... pointless. Pointless for the time we get it in the game, when every cabin is destroyed and counselors are just running in the woods or dying by broken glasses. Now let's talk about the movies. A group of horny teenagers wants to have sex in Jason's garden. Jason has written several times to the Town Hall but the Major doesn't care so he has to take care of the problem. He kill those teenagers one by one silently through the whole movie until the last 15 minutes of final confrontation and loud chase. Well then, why not make the game like the movie? How could we do that? Here's my suggestion. Change Stalk to be the second skill Jason gains and move Sense to the last. I think this could be a very fun and fair change for BOTH parties, Jason and counselors. Counselors would be able to juke Jason more easily in the early minutes and potentially distract him better with the radios and hiding spots, and take advantage of that for a more safe 'looting phase'. Jason could still pursue and catch them, but you could actually lost him for a few minutes. Jason would have a more strategic play in the early minutes, being able to ambush silently while they are still looting and not paying attention, forcing counselors to watch every corner carefully, even peeking through doors (I don't even know if this is still a feature because NOBODY uses it, but I remember misclicking doors back in the Beta and doing it), and only able to see sound blips until he eventually gains Sense and counselors couldn't hide from him anymore (At all, hello A.J) This would result in a better movie-like game while maintaining balance (not needing to nerf Jason or buffing counselors) and improving the fun. More hide & seek early game, more run for your god damn life late game, instead of just the latter since the beginning. I hope you like this idea and share your thoughts. This is a really great game, but together we can make it even better.
  9. Everybody always wants to complain about shift grabbing when stalk is easily his most powerful ability.. Jason is not a track star he is not supposed to chase buggzy or tommy or Vanessa for 2 miles then catch them cuz of stamina restraints on the mentioned counselors. He is a appear-out-of-no-where-kill-you-and-leave type guy once the game develops a little bit more players will become better counselors and ppl will cry for Jason buffs I promise.. With 2 or 3 ppl working in tandem and not being openly stupid its very easy to escape Jason even with shift grabbing the way it is.. My YouTube channel is Thaa Zeus I have a 3 hour live stream on there where I escape almost every time and I have full party chat on the vid I also have a video explaining how stalk is the most powerful thing in the game.. If you watch thank you for watching but this current trend of crying nerf needs to not happen the meta for this game hasn't even been FULLY developed yet.. If you play as Vanessa or buggzy and are sprinting in the woods then yes you deserve to die very quickly or learn to run and dive through open windows and constantly bounce from house to house. If a loud counselor runs from Jason for 7 minutes then all you did was HELP YOUR ENTIRE TEAM ESCAPE EASIER good job but don't complain that he killed you too early when your the only one making noise. Morph is better then shift as well idk just my thoughts I have yet to have 1 counselor escape from me and I think its because everybody wants to help themselves and not the team.. If you find a car or boat part please put it in the vehicle and move on don't leave it and certainly don't drop it but regardless the counselor meta needs to develop more.. Thanks for reading this book I apologize for making it sooo long
