What’s everyone’s thoughts on a new Friday the 13th reboot/sequel by Blumhouse. Ryan Turek really wants to do it and Jason Blum has expressed interest also so I guess it’s possible this could happen. What do you guys think they should do? Personally I don’t want them to remake it as they always turn out awful, so maybe they could ignore Jason X and make a new 10th movie after Part 9 or maybe do something similar to Halloween 2018 and do a direct sequel. I wouldn’t mind them doing a direct sequel to part 4
Adding Reboot Jason And FvJ Jason Before we get started, yes I understand that they don't have the rights to Reboot Jason or FvJ Jason. I'm making this purely and simply just to give ideas if they were going to add them to the game. And who knows, F13 The Game was alot more successful than they thought so they might be able to get the rights to these beasts now. Reboot Jason: Strengths: + Can Run + Traps + Throwing Knives Weaknesses: - Morph - Sense - Defense Okay let me just start off by saying, I love the look of this Jason! Reboot Jason is probably my 3rd favorite look for Jason. I'm going to go through why I chose these stats for him. By the way, If they ever add Reboot Jason I do not think they will give him a Sprinting Animation instead of running and I don't think they will replace Shift for a Sprinting Ability either. I chose Can Run for one of his strengths because... well, he runs in the movie. I chose Traps and Throwing Knives because he seems like a more hunter style Jason. He uses Traps and a Bow in the movie. He's a much more realistic Jason. I chose Morph and Sense for two of his weaknesses because like I said, he's a much more realistic Jason. And I chose Defense for his last weakness because since he's more realistic that means he's not gonna have as much defense as any of the other Jason. FvJ Jason: Strengths: + Morph + Stun Resistance + Defense Weaknesses: - Can't Run - Water Speed - Stalk I'll be honest, I'm not a huge fan of the look for FvJ Jason. However I do know that a lot of people love his design and I do think every on screen Jason should make it into the game. Alright, time to go through why I gave him those stats. I chose Morph as a Strength because he does seem to get from one place to another pretty quickly in the movie. I chose Stun Resistance and Defense for his other two strengths because him and Freddy beat the living hell out of each other. neither of them give it up even after Jason get his fingers cut off and his eyes stabbed. He's pretty tough in the movie and can take a beating. I chose Can't Run because he doesn't run. I chose Water Speed as a weakness because in the movie Jason is afraid of water even though in like almost every movie prior he's been in water . I chose Stalk for his last weakness because he isn't very stealthy in the movie. I would love to get these guys in the game one day. I know it's not likely but hey, I can dream. Thanks for reading this. And please, fill free to comment your thoughts and suggestions. I would love to hear your guy's feedback on this. - Deku Scrub
With the October movie being cancelled, and the plot points being put out on the internet, I wondered what it would be like if we were put in charge. If your vision for the reboot was to be filmed, how would you go about it? For me, It’s a fine line to walk between what is expected for the franchise and doing stuff just a bit differently. Go too far off the beaten path and we get Jason goes to Hell or Jason X. Stick too close to the originals and have a by-the-numbers film lacking enthusiasm. One of the biggest issues for me is the final girl. When you know who she is a third of the way into the movie, a lot of drama and suspense is taken out of the film. So one of the things I would do is try to make the cast work in such a way that nobody knows who will live or die. That alone should ramp up the suspense even if the plot is simplistic. Jason in this series is already an older teen. We would pick up with Camp Crystal Lake’s owner talking Mrs. Voorhees into working at the camp with him noting Jason could make friends and act like a normal kid for once. Jason would show up a few times but the camera would never have him in frame. Shots from behind, out of focus, far off shots and the like obscure his face. At some point one of the counselors would comment on his ugly appearance and another (our jock sort) would forcibly strap a hockey mask on Jason, who would go along with it because he is trying to fit in. Only now can Jason be seen clearly on film. Soon Jason is talked into taking a canoe ride and here is where things begin to go south. In an subverted homage to the original film a counselor jumps up out of the water, yanking on Jason and tipping him into the water. However as we all know, Jason can’t swim. As a matter of fact he sinks like a stone. The rest of the film would pick up some time after, in the winter, with the teens all dying horribly to an unseen killer. This would play with fan perceptions because they may think it’s Mrs. Voorhees, but also maybe Jason. I mean, we can’t have an F13 film without Jason, right? Also fans have wanted snow for how long now? Our final girl would hopefully be the one you didn’t expect. I’m leaning with the goth chick myself. And we would end with the Mrs. Voorhees vs counselor battle on the frozen lake at the campsite. As expected Pam gets decapitated. The final scene is the girl standing over Pam’s dead body on the lake. then, we get the true homage to the original film. Jason bursts up through the ice, hockey mask and all to drag our final girl under the water with him. Fade to black. Cue sharp Manfredini score.
Apparently they've stopped production of the next Friday the 13th movie: http://comicbook.com/2017/02/07/friday-the-13th-reboot-axed-by-paramount/ Say it isn't so... we need some solace; I hope the game is certified soon, the sooner the release, the better at this point. How could they kill Jason? He's such a special, special boy!
