  1. What if the developers Received permission to create a game mode that utilized John Carpenters the thing. One person starts out infected in Antarctica, and tries to infect others. You could sabotage any plans and have little things you can do for tests to see if someone else is infected... I would buy it again for something like that.
  2. So, I have been playing Friday The 13th for a bit now and I like the core gameplay and the concept of it. However, I believe what would keep players coming back without dividing up the playerbase too much would be to add maybe like a single special gamemode or an event or something at the end of every month. Or hell, you could use them interchangeably My ideas for what that event/gamemode could be are as follows. • Betrayal You tend to see people's true colors come out when shit hits the fan. People betray one another for their own survival. Remember how Counselors used to be able to damage and kill other counselors with normal weapons? I think it was a great decision to take that out because of all the constant griefing and increase the XP penalty for players that run others over with the car. With that being said, I think it would be an interest spin to have a gamemode basically where other players get 100XP for killing other players per kill the same way Jason does. So it would be like a Free For All and you wouldn't be able to trust anyone all the while there is a juggernaut serial killer coming to push your shit in. • Moshpit 7 Counselors and 1 Jason is fun and all, but what if we doubled it up? 14 Counselors and 2 Jasons on Large Maps only with the same methods of escape. Jasons would have the ability to speak to each other over long distances like Counselors can when they equip radios. I feel like this gamemode would be absolutely insane because it could go both ways. The two Jasons could be really good and slaughter everyone or the Counselors could wise up and organize against their predators. • Possession In the movie "Jason Goes To Hell" he possesses a bunch of different people in order to perform his kills. He could instead of spawning as Jason, he could spawn as his preferred Counselor and the twist they know they are Jason but keep it a secret to the other Counselors while he murders the others in secret as they try to figure out who he is or escape. They would also need to have Pamela's sweater to kill him, but Tommy wouldn't be necessary. The Counselors can kill him if they figure out which Counselor he is possessing by killing that Counselor. Once Jason kills a Counselor, he has the option of taking the form of that Counselor, which to other players, he will appear with that dead player's gamertag as well. This means that player will not show up dead either in the menu so they will be forced to keep guessing. I thought that it would be interesting to also implement a feature where Jason could actively try and possess a living Counselor, which would be a spam fight of who can press A the fastest. If he can take that player over, they are "dead" while he uses their body to continue to trick the other counselors. Also, if Jason finds the Necronomicon, then he can arise from Hell. I feel it would be best to also have very limited escape methods and have a Hell Jason be much more OP that the regular. Like faster movement, quicker regen on his powers, etc. But to counteract that, a survivor can get the book before he does(it spawns in a random drawer) and they can burn it in a campfire to prevent him from becoming fully Jason. • Jason Vs Jason Similarly to the Moshpit mode, there is a higher player count by not by much. There is 8 counselors and 2 Jasons, but what makes this different is the Jasons can kill each other and that is their primary objective. The Counselors can work together to assist one of the Jasons in killing his twin, try escaping, or try and kill both of them(which would count as a win for them). Pamela's sweater now has 2 uses, one per each Jason and Tommy is not needed to kill them. You'd have limited escape methods because escape is not the point of the gamemode. These are just some ideas I came up with while playing. Let me know your thoughts and opinions about these 4 and if you have any of your own you'd like to share!
  3. ~•Game Modes•~ So I made this post to share some of my ideas for new game modes, as well as some other ones that I've seen...... feel free to comment your own as well! 1.) Campaign Mode I was thinking a campaign mode would be pretty cool, and if I were to come up with the idea for one, I would base it off of the original NES game. If you don't know the plot for the original game, here's a quick summary that I stole from the wiki... "It's a pretty typical summer at Crystal Lake. There's a group of happy children staying in the Camp. You and your six camp counselor friends are watching over the kids while enjoying the lake and the wilderness. The days are bright and sunny. The nights are cool and clear. But Jason is on a rampage, and it's up to you to stop him, but it's not going to be easy. You must first fight your way through forests filled with man-eating wolves, caves covered with blood sucking bats, and hordes of mindless zombies everywhere you turn. You must also help any friend who is in danger, or else you can just kiss them goodbye. Hiding in a cabin or staying adrift in a canoe won't keep you safe, as Jason will find you. The only way to survive this summer is to challenge Jason face to face, and destroy him." (http://fridaythe13th.wikia.com/wiki/Friday_the_13th_(NES_video_game)). Now, this wouldn't be possible as of now, because a Jason AI doesn't exist, or at least that we know of, but none the less, I thought it would be a cool idea. 2.) Paranoia Mode Yes, I know that this mode exists, however we still don't know how it's going to work yet. If you don't know, there was a Friday the 13th computer game in 1985. Here's a summary of how you played it: "The player can roam around freely in the scenery, walk in and outside of buildings. Jason, as well as other characters, do the same. It is the player's task to make sure his friends do not get killed by Jason, who often appears disguised as one of them, unless he is hit once and becomes visible as a man dressed in black. Various weapons (e.g., chainsaw, pitchfork) are scattered around the area and can be picked up. There are five levels in the game, each time you play as another character. " (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Friday_the_13th_(1985_computer_game)). Now, Paranoia wouldn't work exactly like this, but Jason being disguised as a player, such as a TF2 Spy, I believe is likely to make it in. Of course, Jason is going to be repleaced by Roy Burns, the copycat killer from Friday the 13th Part 5. Another way it might work is a sort of werewolf type game, where there are 7 or 8 counselors, and each day one of them is voted to be executed. Each night, the werewolf, or the copycat killer will choose someone to kill. Which of these two do you think is more likely? 3.) Pamela Mode Now, we all know that Roy and Pamela are not going to be in the regular F13 Mode. However, since Roy is getting his own game mode, why shouldn't Pamela? You could replace Jason's abilities with more human like ones. And she would likely use a Machete, Axe, or Bow, since all 3 of them are used in the original movie. But how would it work? I can imagine some sort of way to pick off counselors one by one. I can only see this as an altered version of the original F13 game mode. Finally, Pamela would probably control almost identically to the counselor. 4.) Part 9 Mode Inspired by SahSimon's idea, a game mode where instead of killing counselors, Jason will possess them. If you haven't seen Part 9, this is something that happens throughout, in order to keep Jason's spirit alive, yes I know, it's a really weird concept. To kill Jason, you would need to get a new hero character, either Creighton Duke or Jessica Kimble, who would spawn woth the voorhees dagger and kill Jason. There would have to be more steps in order to kill him, but I figure this would be a cool concept. 5.) Race Minigame Disclaimer: I did NOT make this idea, I found it on the forums previously. All the counselors would race to the exit while Jason tries to kill them all. Betraying is allowed, and all stats are identical. I see this as a minigame you'd play while waiting for counselors to ready up. 6.) Race Minigame: Room for 1 A slight twist on the "Race Minigame" all rules are the same except only 1 counselor can escape. Those are a few game mode ideas that I think would be really cool additions to the game. Comment below your opinions or your own game mode ideas.
  4. I have a new idea featuring a new game mode. In turbo mode everything is faster and the timer is shorter. Councelors have infinite stamina, stamina stat is converted into decreasing stumble chance. Easier skill checks for repairs. Jason moves 40% faster (Walking, Speed Walking, Running). He also reduces all cooldowns by 50%! Timer reduced to 12 minutes. Car speed is increased by 15% Jason gains even more speed when raged. (10% more) Coming out of a hiding spot is 75% faster.
  5. (Influenced by youtuber SahSimon) What if there was a gamemode where the timer is against counselors? In the map there would be 4 kids hidden any cabin (Chance of multiple kids spawning in same cabin) To win this gamemode the counselors must escort the kids to safety before the timer goes down. Jason must make sure all kids must not escape (scaring them back into hiding) or killing all councillor. Ways to win: Escort kids to police, drive them out of the camp, kill Jason, have the kid to execute Jason. (Like young Tommy) Kids are immune to damage. (To prevent trolling and angry media people) 15 minutes to rescue them all. Kids should have a assist tool for councilors. (Heals councillors on a cooldown, throws firecrackers, pointing at Jason to spot him) Jason can go up to kids to scare them back into hiding. If Tommy is escorting the kids, the kids cannot get scared away in till Tommy dies or sucessfully escapes with kids.
  6. I thought of a good challenge earlier when I was playing and then I completely forgot what it was. While trying to remember what it was I thought of a new competitive game. Hopefully I remember the original challenge sooner or later but until then I'll post this new idea. TAG-N-SEEK MODE In this mode there is no killing. It's like tag and hide and go seek. The objective is to not be grabbed by Jason. If Jason grabs you, you're it and you become Jason and Jason becomes the counselor selected in the lobby. Upon being tagged the person who was playing Jason and who is now a counselor is teleported to a random location away from the new Jason and the match continues. You cannot escape but you can fix cars and boat to travel within the map. You can also set traps as Jason and counselors and gain xp through the normal gameplay mechanics(trapping, stunning, repairing, barricading, distracting, etc). Jason can still injury you and you can be injured through other normal gameplay mechanics but you can't die, because the goal is for jason to catch you. When Jason catches somebody they return to their counselor with previous items and when a counselor is caught their Jason restocks on traps and knives. Xp bonuses are handed out at end of match in a ranking order of who spent the least amount of time as Jason. There could also be a leaderboard based on number of games and time spent an Jason. With all the different Jason's players can select as their main you would have to keep on your toes and be ready to change tactics at any moment because when someone else is tagged their Jason will be coming in to hunt you down. This could be very entertaining and since you can't die it would offer more playtime and be a competitive mode. There are some things I'm not sure of for this mode. Like, can you set your character to random and continuously change counselors or Jason mid game? Will police be disabled or have another function? This is just an idea to add some variety to gameplay and while it's not Jason killing everyone like in the series it could still be a fun alternative mode. Thoughts?
  7. So this is a mode where they add a bunch of trap options for jason. Such as snares, dead falls, pungi sticks, trip wires, etc. OFFLINE MODE(SET UP) Everybody can go through each map and set traps as Jason in an offline mode and then save the map. Number of traps and trap types can be purchased with cp. (should probably have some limit) Placing of jump scares can be purchased with cp. (bodies, random NPC popping up, etc) ONLINE MODE(PLAY) Then in the online mode it's just like normal play except if you are Jason your traps and whatever else load into the map you are playing on. Also, there would be increased ways to disarm traps, but I haven't thought about that yet This would be a cool way to keep you on your toes, because after a few games you basically know what to expect an it is right now. It would be like a creative hard mode. There would obviously be some restrictions. Probably no traps in randomly spawned buildings or camp grounds, places like the barn and static houses would be ok. Trees don't move, atleast I don't think they do so trapping trees and paths should be alright. Obviously there are things that would have to be worked out but I think you get the idea.
  8. Such a concept has likely been mentioned or talked about before, possibly to death, but if there was ever a gamemode that was introduced that was an overall larger scale match with two killers and more counselors, how would you handle the second killer? Sure, you could simply add in another Jason, but that would be weird and kind of immersion breaking. Why are there two Jasons? Sure, one could be a copycat killer, but everyone would probably feel just as cheated as they felt at the end of Friday the 13th: Part V. Also it still wouldn't make much sense. Personally, I believe the way to go with it, would be to introduce a resurrected supernatural version of Pamela Voorhees as the second killer, back for revenge against a world that allowed her and her son to die as they did. You could very easily reason this given the current lore of the game. So, we all know that at the end of Jason Goes to Hell, well, Jason goes to Hell. According to the Savini Jason, he simply overpowered the forces of Hell in general (because he's Jason), and just walked out, back into the living world to kill more silly teenagers. Well, we could say that during his murderous romp through the afterlife, his finds his mother (Or her Soul, whatever you like), wherever it happens to be, and (lovingly) drags her back with him. He could totally do that. He's Jason. I mean he apparently beat up Satan and took his pitchfork. Sure he could bargain for her in exchange for Lucifer's life, or something like that, but that's not very Jason like. He takes what he wants, without so much as a grunt. This supernatural Pamela could simply be another Jason-type that only exists in this gamemode, so you wouldn't need to give her stats and abilities specific to her, although it would be awesome if she did. If you really think about it, though, her methods of murder weren't really much different than Jason's, although she relied more on the element of surprise than he had to. The only problem would be MoCap for a new killer, which is very expensive. Anyway, just ideas that I had. Feel free to let me know what you think!
