The point of this topic is to know what is more scary and tense... A killer/monster who can run or one who move at a slower pace but is more tougher to take down. For me its gotta be the ones that can run...why ? Because its a lot more tense when something is running toward you since it leave you with less time to think about a strategy,you need to pick up the pace yourself and think quick if you want to survive. Thats why running zombies are always much more of a threat than the slower ones. Think about any movies where the killer/monster always move at a slow steady pace,now imagine those movies if they ran instead,things would be quite different. For exemple take the movie (It Follows),now imagine if the creature in that movie always ran without ever being exhausted,always going at a constant running pace,i tell ya the peoples who have the curse wouldnt have time to stick around and would always need to be on the move,always going from place to place in a car,hoping that they dont ran out of gas or are stoped by the police (or being in a accident) then sent to jail or a hospital/asylum or else they are f***ed. But what about you guys ? Wich one do you think is scarier ?
Today I was playing as Jason and got 3 out of 5 counselors killed. Then I saw the last two (I assume they were friends playing together) and went to get them. They started running while crouching, like if they were pressing SHIFT, very fast. I stalked them waiting for them to run out of stamina... I ran, ran, ran and just could not get to them, they were too fast, even for me to Shift+grab them. I stalked them for about 7 minutes. So, I assume it is a glitch or a exploit. I managed to kill them by setting traps and luring them to it but only got to them because of it. They were teasing me saying "You can't touch me Jason" and stuff, and didn't stop to accomplish any of the objectives, they just ran the entire play. Unfortunately I could not record the game, so I just printed the screen a couple of times and I'll post it here just for explanation purposes. I have no idea how it can be reproduced and sincerely hope that no one get to know how it works, because it will break the game ENTIRELY. Well... Thanks for your time and I hope I helped you guys. I think there should be some sort of adrenaline in the game that compliments the stamina system. Think about this: you're running from Jason and you run out of stamina. You are dead right? wrong! You could have a reserve tank called Adrenaline that lets you sprint past your stamina gauge. The difference in stamina vs. Adrenaline. Adrenaline should only be available when chase music is active. A person only uses their body's adrenaline when they are in danger and the body reacts by escaping using any means. No matter the tiredness of the person, the adrenaline allows them to sprint. What should occur is a screen similar to having tons of fear. No hud, no map, and dimmed screen. Adrenaline cannot be regained and should only be used in a situation that has the player literally running for their life. No one would just stop running because they are tired if a madman is literally inches behind them holding a weapon. Furthermore, make adrenaline purple and place it above the radar. This would give the player that one last gas of escape that could ultimately lead them to victory. Thoughts?
