They've already stated creating the AI for Jason would be far to difficult (and from what they've delivered so far, let's all choose to believe them).

Nobody expects it to die tomorrow or even in the next 90 days, but 12 to 18 months..........it's probably gonna be "Bye Bye Online Multiplayer"

I really hope that doesn't happen, we all love this game. I mean I don't think I have played a game that I've truly enjoyed multiplayer on since Goldeneye back on Nintendo 64, and this is up there for me in terms of enjoyability. If they spend the time wisely and get all the major bugs and glitches fixed during this period, then it could gain traction again through word of mouth that the game is fun. At this point, I don't even know if I want dedicated server as that could come with a whole mess of problems if those go live, but at least just get the major bugs and glitches patched up and I'll be a happy camper (pun intended).

This is why they should have added offline bots mode for Jason and counselors, now when the servers officially die perks, counselor clothes and counselors become useless.

I don't think the game is going to die as soon as people thing it will.  As for a Jason bot to play in offline mode as a counselor, that will take some time for them to craft up, and even then they may not be able to because it'd be new content technically.

  3. Yeah, I mean it must be a parental thing, but if I had kids with grades like those I'd be like, "well, clearly you got a good head on your shoulders and not up your ass so feel free to play whatever you want as long as it doesn't interfere with the studies." I get the whole "online, stranger danger" thing though, and I never played online since back in the day it was all local multiplayer only, split screens, good times. But I mean, half naked chicks in bikinis running from a masked murderer is like the bread 'n' butter of Friday the 13th. If they let you play it before, I don't understand why it suddenly became an issue now. If I was a betting man, I'd say you overplayed your hand with the Samantha being murdered video, haha!

Well, not really both of my parents banned me from it. I showed a video of Samantha from Part IV being killed and she was like "Omg I'm tired of that $&#%" and she told my brother to uninstall F13 off my.. sigh..Xbox One (I hate it, I'd rather get an X or a gaming pc) and another reason is that I play as a female 85% of the time, and they're annoyed that I play as Tiff in her bikini. I tried compromising but they won't trust me. I can re-install it anytime, it's just that my brother would snitch and they would yell at me.

    So yeah.

That sucks, the game is fun, sorry that your parents just don't get it. But hey my mother hated me playing Goldeneye 007 on Nintendo 64 and Perfect Dark, but my father was the enabler and let me play those games. I turned out to be a serial killer so I can't really complain about my life. Hope you can get back into the game soon!

  5. Mob mentality is a thing, unfortunately. There are people on Facebook crucifying the devs because they think the lawsuit is aimed at them specifically. The fact that people don't educate themselves before grabbing their torches and pitchforks, tars and feathers, is just insane. I wonder how many people in that mob crowd of virtriol filth and hatred even have the slightest clue what is actually happening in regards to the game, the lawsuit, the franchise in general. I also wonder how many of those people second guess themselves and are like, "wait, why am I angry again? Oh whatever, ROAR! REFUND GAME SUCKS! RABBLE RABBLE!"

I think they should release modding tools to allow modders to make recolors at least. I just can't believe it's over ?

It's not an indefinite thing, their official post to the media states that until the legal issues surrounding the franchise is resolved, they won't be able to release future content. The bold part being the key segment here. Have faith, friend. :)

I was hosting quick play for 3 hours last night. Didn't have any issues other than me allowing some Jason hunters to bait me. @TxJason got to see me killed for the second time.

Really just had some doors appear solid after being broken. Also had trouble shifting in the rain on one match, but I didn't mind taking an L on one round. No suicide on escape, no rubberbanding (that I saw), NO HOST QUITS!!!

I was hoping to host until my game crashed, but after 3 hours I needed my sleep.

Whoa, that's awesome. It's nice when you're the host and you can play until you're done, or the game crashes haha! Glad you didn't run into too many probems during your play sessions. :)

This isn't true, future/new content isn't a New Separate Derivative work made after the termination, it's a term made Before the termination, this it still continues after termination.

Whether future content is a term or a derivative work in of itself, it was granted prior to termination and therefore remains in effect after termination.

Dude, just...... Dude. Drop it. You're very very wrong. You're not getting Uber Jason, or the Grendel map, or anything else for that matter until this lawsuit is done and over with. So sit down and wait it out like the rest of us.

It's not a death scene. But Dallas getting caught in the vents during Alien and Parker's explaination of how he found the Flamethrower but no sign of the man freeked me out. I kept wondering where did it take him? Why did it take him? What is it doing to him? And when I found out in Aliens the scene made me feel even more uneasy.

You and me both, man. The scenes where he's in the vents trying to flush it out just makes my skin crawl, just knowing the alien was in there with him. The motion tracker bleeping as it got ever closer, with the music slowly ramping up sending you into a panic right along with Dallas. That scene and the chestburster scene with Kane's death are up there in my top 10 for sure. I saw Alien at 6 years old and had nightmares for years after, and sometimes I still do. 25 years later, in 2014, comes Alien Isolation. It was literally like Creative Assembly wrote everything down that made Alien terrifying to me, and then charged me $60 to play it!

Got off on a tangent, so let's see here, top horror deaths for me are.....

    1. Kane (Alien) - Chestburster explodes out of his body

    2. Dr. Copper (The Thing) - consumed by the Norris-thing monster

    3. Captain Dallas (Alien) - ambushed by the alien inside the air shafts of the Nostromo

    4. Alex Kintner (Jaws) - pulled from the raft and mutilated before being devoured

    5. Nikki Parsley (Friday the 13th Part VI Jason Lives) - face crushed against the wall of the RV

    6. Paul Allen (American Psycho) - Chopped by Patrick Bateman wielding an axe

    7. Chrissie Watkins (Jaws) - Dragged and eaten

    8. Trey Adam (Freddy vs Jason) - stabbed multiple times by machete and then folded in half inside a bed

    9. Judith Myers (Halloween) - stabbed 9 times in the chest/stomach by her own brother, Michael who was only 6 years old

    10. Bob Simms (Halloween) - pinned to door by a kitchen knife through his chest while Michael Myers stared at him

Can we bump this comment and actually shove this in the devs faces? Either they're getting worried over nothing, or we're being duped.

And I really hope we aren't being duped.

Ralph is not correct here. But boy does he like to think he is. See Ralph focuses EXCLUSIVELY on one aspect of the definition of "derivative works." Which is the part he keeps prattling on and on about: "derivative work prepared under authority of the grant before its termination may continue to be utilized under the terms of the grant after its termination"  Seriously, the guy sounds like a broken record. However, he fails to recognize the other aspects, and believe me I have tried to help him understand this: A “derivative work” is a work based upon one or more preexisting works, such as a translation, musical arrangement, dramatization, fictionalization, motion picture version, sound recording, art reproduction, abridgment, condensation, or any other form in which a work may be recast, transformed, or adapted. A work consisting of editorial revisions, annotations, elaborations, or other modifications which, as a whole, represent an original work of authorship, is a “derivative work”. The Friday the 13th game, itself, is considered derivative content under the grant from Cunningham to GUN, this is only protected until the grant terminates (includes all content in the game). To put it simply, as others have stated before as well, ANY new content whatsoever, be it clothes, new counselors, Uber Jason, the Grendel map, emotes, etc. would represent a modification (elaboration) on the whole of the game, therefore it's ALL derivative because it represents an original work of authorship. So even though Uber Jason is within the game's data and coding, he wasn't formally released, and his being released could very well put GUN/Illfonic at risk to pay damages to Victor Miller, on the off chance he wins the lawsuit because even if they release him NOW, his presence in the game would exist beyond the termination of the grant, which would put GUN in a precarious situation, again if Miller wins. So, I imagine they have been advised by THEIR lawyers to avoid future content.

Basically, if Miller wins, GUN is screwed with ZERO lubrication. Which is why we're all hoping, and pretty confident, Sean Cunningham will win the lawsuit and buisness can resume as usual. Ralph is wrong, and is basically interpreting the legal wording in a way that best suits his arguments and not living in reality.
