  1. Only saw the first one and bits of the second. Seemed fairly enjoyable for a modern slasher, though I had a hard time keeping track of which mutant was which. Wish they were more memorable. Also, they killed off the nicest characters in the first one, while the less likeable ones lived.
  2. The best way to do it would be to make an anthology series. Have each season or even every three or four episodes be about a different cast of characters. Maybe have an ongoing meta-narrative about the town of Crystal Lake in the background, with a few returning characters showing up here or there. I would love to have stuff like the story of Crazy Ralph, the camp showing up in different seasons like winter or fall, the story of Mrs. Voorhees's first rampage, or stuff like that. Kinda like how the F13 comic series have been.
  3. Jenny by far. She's so bland, a lot of other counselors do her role better than her, and really doesn't help the team out at all.
  4. Yes, I would. I've never stopped recommending this game. It's been one of my most fun multiplayer experiences, next to TF2. And while I've usually recommended getting it on sale, I still don't think any temporary condition after a patch is enough to dissuade me from recommending it. The bugs will be fixed, and until they do, I've mostly just laughed and been a good sport about them. That one time I accidentally morphed into the floor of a cabin as Jason? Hilarious!
  5. I'm happy about the update, except for one thing. I was really looking forward to being able to change keybindings, because my mouse doens't have a middle button to use knives (I use a trackball mouse.) However, I can't find any option to change the knife-throwing button in the menu. Other than that though? I've been enjoying the heck out of myself. Love the challenges, the better bots AI, and how much smoother the game runs. Sure, there are bugs, but I expect that after a big update like this. Just how these things happen, and they've been rare enough for me to not be annoying.
  6. In the beginning of Jason X, they mention that Jason was arrested for his crimes in 2008. Due to Friday the 13th's bizarre timeline, where there are sometimes multiple years between movies (i.e. Parts 6, 5, and 4 are all several years after each other) this claim would conflict with where Freddy vs. Jason would take place.
  7. So far, I've been pretty happy with the patch, but I've been kinda fortunate enough to avoid most bugs (though I did get one today where I morphed into the floor of a cabin) But, one question: Did they forget to let you change the key binding for knife throwing? Cause I've really been looking forward to that, since my mouth doesn't have a middle mouse wheel button, but I can't find the option anywhere.
  8. IIRC, the conflict comes from when they said they captured Jason in the beginning of X being BEFORE FvJ takes place, or something to that effect. In any case, I hate X enough to just ignore it forever and ever.
  9. I was always partial to the bed death from Freddy vs. Jason: I think it's just the sheer over-the-top, unnecessary-ness of it. The guy was probably dead after the first stab, but Jason just keeps going and going, and then even breaks his spine to make sure he's super dead. I feel like this one kill just utterly defines Jason as a character. He's having fun with his murders, and keeps finding creative ways to kill.
  10. Personally, I don't consider Jason X canon at all (especially since it conflicts with the FvJ timeline) but I would probably guess Uber Jason would've come back on Earth II somehow. Probably scientists trying to clone him, or the curse of the lake just bringing him back as a demon worm or something.
  11. This is actually a pretty interesting match up. Carrie seems to have more raw power, but Tina shows more control over her abilities. While Carrie can bring a house down, she seems to mostly just push and shove with her psychic powers, while Tina can do much more subtle things like wrap cords around people, spray gas from a canister, etc. In an open field, Carrie wins. But, if they're in an area with a lot of debris or random junk, I think Tina might take it with some smart thinking.
  12. Always liked Part V. Once you get over the Roy twist, it's a fun slasher flick with some memorable kills and characters.
  13. I like them, but there's something about it that keeps me from loving them. I think some of the kills come off as a bit... try hard at times, and Victor Crowley is a bit too unrelenting. There's no stalking with him, just charge in and showers of gore. Plus, they keep killing off likeable characters. I think the first one is definitely the best of the trilogy. Still, it's a lot of fun. Can't wait to see the fourth one.
  14. Oh man, time to burn some bridges here. -Halloween II has aged much better than Halloween -Freddy's Revenge is my favorite Nightmare on Elm St. movie -Kane Hodder is good, but he's not even in my top 3 favorite Jasons -The Conjuring, Insidious, and Sinister are all terrible -The Exorcist is about 90% tedium, and 10% famous scenes that are the only thing keeping the movie memorable
  15. Sleepaway Camp, Sleepaway Camp, Sleepaway Camp. It competes with Friday the 13th Part 6: Jason Lives as my all time favorite slasher movie. There's so many interesting things in that film if you dig into it and look at symbolism and Freudian psychology, it's nuts. Plus, what other slasher film has someone getting killed by bees? It's my favorite movie to show people for the very first time, just to see their reactions to the ending. I would also say The Town That Dreaded Sundown (1976), which is one of the first slasher movies ever made. The Phantom Killer is really intimidating for an otherwise cheesy movie, and he inspired Jason's Part 2 appearance. Plus, one of the few slashers to use a gun as his primary weapon. This combined with a fun murder mystery plot makes it one of my favorites. Oh, and its poster was painted by the guy who did the Star Wars posters.
