Choke kill is nowhere near the fastest grab kill. Top tier Jason's only use choke because it doesn't require extra space to execute. All other kills require a certain distance from obstacles and/or relatively level ground before the kill even lights up on Jason's wheel. Coat hook, window toss, and head slam are the fastest environmental kills.

The fastest grab kills are back breaker, head punch, and pile driver. Then there's a few weapon specific kills like the Jarvis and machete stab that are all faster than the one handed choke kill. But again, all require more space.

Pile driver? Doesn't the game call it body slam? Anyways, if back breaker, head punch and body slam are the fastest kills in the game, which are the slowest?

Last night in one match alone I got

    1. Called the N-word about a dozen times.

    2. Called bitch I have no idea how many times.

    3. Was told on at least half a dozen occasions to suck somebody's private parts.

    4. Had one fine gentlemen tell me he hoped my Mom got cancer and died.

In other words, what I call an effective day at the office for Jason since I heard most of this shit while I was killing the fuckers. 😁

This right here is the funniest shit I've read all week. Its amazing how online gaming has basically given people an unlimited amount of N-word passes all because they hide behind a screen. Bet you if they ever said any of that shit to someone in real life they'd get their asses dropped in a flash.

i think he's a little underrated and i feel that most people just judge off looks. " it's an out of shape white nerd " "he's useless and only noobs use him" shelly has good composure, stealth and he really could stun jason with a pot... a lovely 7/10 on strength. sheldon is good for sneaking around the camp and finding what he needs to get the mask to be honest with ya, most people just use him for shits and giggles. he's a decent counselor, i respect shelly mains

See, that's exactly what has me scratching my head a bit. Shelly does have some good attributes just not the best ones. Btw, I have never found nor heard of a Shelly main. Really, really difficult to find one on Xbox.

Rydogs guide is outdated and doesn't include all maps. I'd use Tommy86s tower guide for map layouts. It's much more detailed. Still though, none will show you part spawns. The only way to get a good idea where to look for parts is to play the game. For most maps, the parts will spawn fairly close to their designated objective. Jarvis and Pinehurst are the hardest, as the parts will spawn much farther away.

In which case, I would love it if someone in the community had actually bothered to 'update' Rydogs guides. Especially since the game is at the very end of its life cycle.

I've never really bothered to study the maps and repair part locations but I believe that when it comes to pushing objectives, Pinehurst is probably the easiest.  I say that because 2 of the 4 variations of the maps have the phone and fuse located in the exact same spot.  So when you pull up your map you have a 50% chance of knowing exactly where the phone and fuse are and if it isn't at the top of the map it is in one of only 2 other locations.    Plus, a lot of the items are always in the same spot (like shotgun and spray in the barn, 2 sprays upstairs of main house, 1 spray on picnic table in the north, etc etc).

While I hate the layout of Pinehurst, I do find it the easiest to find parts and goodies (even when I play as low stam/speed counselor)

There's a guide on Steam by Rydog that details both the map layout of items and all possible variations. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=959754906

Since the patch, I have not been able to do it on or off host. My friend said it works off host but I had no luck, could anyone conform if it is still possible to do?

Go watch any of GreenDragons competitive matches on YouTube. Double Tapping is possible off host but not on host. Knife cancelling is possible both on and off host but easier off host.

Ya, I think that is definitely part of it.

The stat values (of any stat, really) are not nearly as linear as the values would suggest. ( ie - Having a repair of 3 is not actually any more helpful than having a stat of 2).  Plus some stats are directly affected by other stats. (ie - composure stat will directly affect how stealth and stamina stats actually affect gameplay).

So you don't really know the whole story about how a counselor's stats affect their actual gameplay until you experience playing as them yourself.  I think the extra 3 points total that AJ has over Shelly in Composure and Stealth affect their gameplay more than the numbers alone would suggest.  And the 2 points extra in repair that Shelly has doesn't really make any difference other than it may take a couple less times of trying before you get a good skill-check-wheel.

I noticed that sometime around when I first started playing this game. I recently was looking at a few tourny F13 matches and found out almost nobody in the competitive scene uses Shelly. Heck, you almost dont ever see anyone use Mitch, Shelly, and Jenny in tourny play ever.

Welcome back. Hope you had a great break form the game. I also don't know. He is my fourth favorite.

Maybe cuz there are not much uses for a repairer with low chase potential to have high strength, making his stats not synergize. Maybe also cuz there are other counselors that does what he does, but better, maybe like Adam or Fox. Maybe cuz he was new, and people were more used to their old mains.

In casual gameplay I believe he excells more than most, but I'm not sure what to think anout him in sweaty tryhard games.

I had someone once tell me that Shelly is suppose to be a male version of AJ but AJ in of herself is not a great character. I had one guy on PC tell me that the reason why hes the worst is because of how poorly programmed stealth and strength are.

I've tried pt 2 and pt 4 in the past and the very first thing I thought after finishing was, "Ok, yeah, jogging after counselors is kinda fun, but I bet this loses its novelty really quick".

I exclusively run pt 6. If you mistime a Morph, you have no chance of stopping an escape from occuring or a repair from being completed, and a group of counselors with machetes are going to wreck your mask in seconds. I use him anyway because I consider that a challenge in and of itself.

I'm going to be very upfront about this and if you don't accept that that's perfectly fine with me: Part 6 is an objectively BAD Jason. And there's no way around it. I'm not just talking about his weakness of minus morph, but not being able to run makes you 13% slower in getting to the cabin door, in getting to that knife on the wall, in dodging a incoming swing, in chasing a counselor, etc etc etc. It's THIS weakness among a few other things why I stopped playing Jasons that can't run (Savini included).

  10. Well it's been quite a while since I was last on here, so I guess I can provide basic outlines for people wanting to play Jason. A while ago I said I was retired, but realizing that many of my favorite multi-player games (Left 4 Dead 1&2, PvZ Garden Warfare 1&2, & Castlevania HoD) all have a dead player base, I might as well come back here. Also, I dislike most modern games in general. But I'm getting off track, so here's basic skills you need to wrap around your head before you start playing Jason.

    1. Understand that when you pick a Jason, the WORST weakness Jason can have is minus shift. So please, save yourself the trouble and pick a Jason that doesn't have this weakness.

    2. If you were someone that loved using Morph abduction, well then you're assed out. Instead just simply learn to block and be very, very patient with it. Most counselors just swing at you like crazy thinking they're outputting a lot of damage.

    3. The 3 best Jason's are Part 3, Savini, and Part 5. But since most players don't have Savini, stick to Part 5 or 3. If you can, ALWAYS try to be host, since the switch to Peer to peer makes it so that the Hosts input always comes first before anyone else's. A lot of the earlier Call of Dutys work exactly like this.

  11. I wanna first say that although I have been playing this game since October 2018, I knew deep down that I wouldn't be playing this game for very long. My reason for retiring amounts to a lot of things but just a quick run down, here are the three main things: Very inconsistent updates from developers, very toxic community (especially from my experience on Xbox & PC), and overall, just a very lack-luster experience that has finally dawned on me while playing my last few matches on PC. I have so many wonderful memories with this game to share with you all but I would probably have to make a Movie trilogy to tell you guys all of it. Everything from roasting the shit out of that squeaker in the lobby that seriously needed an ego check, to killing that racist redneck in the lobby while he's Jason. And other funny moments like a part 6 tryhard Jason playing the song that goes "That's the way uh-huh uh-huh I like it uh-huh uh-huh" while he goes around slaughtering everybody. I like to thank all of you guys who played with me in the past, good or bad. So farewell, and have good day.

  13. Vanessa for sure, but there's this one story of a Chad player that I'll never forget. One day while halfway through a match, bitch-boy Chad and his friend who was in a Car was trying to kill everybody in the lobby and to put the Cherry on top of the shit cake, Jason just so happens to be with them in a party chat. So as you can imagine, they're probably saying stuff like, "Watch the left side of the house, he's going through there" or "trap the right window, if he heads out through the main door I'll run him over". At this very moment, I knew I had to be in my A-game. And so by a miracle I was able to call the cops and was able to escape via Cops after I had wasted 2 PKs.

  14. My stats would be something like this:

Composure: 5 (according to Rydogs Stat guide, you only truly benefit from Composure if it's at 7 or more. However, you will have a much higher fear bucket for doing so. Taking longer to go back to normal state. So I'll go with 5 since that's where you really start seeing a difference)

Luck: 6 ( Looking at Rydogs Stat guide again, it's clear to see that Luck is only good if you have it at 6 or more because at 6 you get 3 Basebat hits, 6 Machete hits, and 7 Wrench hits.

Repair: 6 (If you have a 6 in repair that means that you'll get anywhere between 3-5 Skill Checks and 4 Skill Checks on average. This is super good because now you can consistently get shit done even when Jason is on your face. And with a 6 in Luck, expect those Skill Checks to be even easier as higher luck makes them slightly bigger. For reference, I can repair anything in 5.32 seconds assuming I didn't mess up)

Speed: 5 (Honestly, I'm perfectly ok with not being the fastest character in the game. For me, anything less than 5 in speed and you suck.)

Stamina: 7 (Playing Victoria for so long makes me appreciate her Stamina. It's saved me in so many scenarios its unbelievable)

Stealth: 4 (I don't care too much for stealth but as long as your stealth is not 2 or lower, you're good)

Strength: 2 (this is abysmal and probably would bite me in the ass in certain situations, but because I don't usually go for killing Jason, I can say I'm good with just 2. For reference, because I have 2 in strength, I need a minimum of 7 Machete hits on Jason to demask him where as Counselors with 1 in strength need 8 at minimum)

    TL;DR Composure 5, Luck 6, Repair 6, Speed 5, Stamina 7, Stealth 4, Strength 2.
