Which is how they want it, gotta try and save face somehow.

They know that their credibility is shot to s**t, if they ever want any hope of publishing a potentially profitable future game, they don't want people unfamiliar with F13 to see the steaming pile they left behind.

They're just hoping this blows over when the people stop caring and the game finally sputters out...And dies.

Or they can have some integrity, sack up, and give the fans and backers what they want by unlocking Uber Jason and patching as many bugs as possible out of this game to leave us with as polished of a game as they possibly can. And be known as the company that stuck by their word and redeemed themselves. But that’s up to @wes and the rest of Gun.

That's the thing that makes me so mad about the dedicated servers.  Shifty said on this very forum that the reason the dedicated servers weren't implemented yet was because the game needed the engine upgrade first.  Well?  The engine upgrade was how many months ago?  But here we are.  And the host quitting is still as rampant as ever. ☹️

The fact that Shifty said an engine upgrade was necessary for dedicated servers in the first place should have pissed you off. Since they were promised over a year ago. With no need of an engine upgrade. And the fact that they also said on this very forum that they were almost ready to go live last September, without an engine upgrade... Then they suddenly need an engine upgrade???? An engine upgrade that would conveniently prevent them from working on new content. In a time frame that we now found out they already KNEW they couldn’t release more content. But kept it a secret.

The engine upgrade for dedicated servers that still are nowhere to be found.

They engine upgrade that was never required for dedicated servers until AFTER the January deadline revealed by Killer Puzzle? The dedicated servers that were “close to being finished” in September, and never needed an engine upgrade then? Hmmmmmm....... it’s ALL finally coming together. All the lies. All the “conspiracies”. Everything is coming together.

At this point, I'm willing to overlook the unfinished aspects of Uber Jason. Since he seems playable without crashes and he doesn't seem to be inducing gamebreaking bugs, I think we can all agree that we prefer playing with the unfinished but playable Uber Jason in the game's files over not getting Uber Jason at all. I know Wes and Hobbs are officially against giving us unfinished content but we're at a point where many of us will appreciate being allowed to play with what is already in the game's files and understand that it's the best thing that the developers can do given their situation thanks to the case.

I’m not sure how they can say they are against giving us “unfinished content” when that’s basically what this game has been this whole time.

No, they said their contract ended in January. Larry Zerner had before said the termination rights was... July? Something. Probably this means that Killer Puzzle's original contract ended in Jan, and they knew they wouldn't be able to renew because of the impending lawsuit deadline.

And I thought everyone knew that Gun knew, but what they didn't know -- and what no one thought would happen -- was that the lawsuit wouldn't be settled by then. Zerner explained all of this in a couple different interviews he did. I think the most comprehensive was the one on Slash n' Cast.

Larry also said he had no idea of the dates or facts. He was only going off of the speculation and giving different scenarios.

  6. And it all turns out to be bullshit. Killer Puzzle confirmed the cutoff date was actually January. Not June. Coincidentally, Gun announced in January that they wouldn’t be working on any new content because of this engine upgrade. That would take 3+ months to complete. Then, right after the engine upgrade, they claim they just found out about the content deadline. But now we get confirmation that they knew MONTHS ago. Why would their deadline be different than the other game? It wouldn’t be.

Thanks and oh boy!  I've been consistently on their site feeling bad for them and not thinking they were very shady( or not wanting to believe it)  but is seems like they are kind of a shady company...  I don't want to think negatively about them at all and still have some hope left but man, they do seem to bullshit us a bunch.  Stupid engine upgrade.  It really didn't make anything any better.

That doesn't mean they're allowed to continue developing it though, and what if the current Jason X build has massive game breaking issues that haven't been ironed out like overpowered running or the ability to speak at a 4th grade level? Sometimes less is more if the more is a half complete product.

Clearly he doesn’t, we’ve seen him used already. Plays just fine. And even if he did, they can just patch it later. They just don’t want to. Killer Puzzle confirms everything we’ve been saying. If it’s in the code already, it doesn’t count as new content.

Either the makers of Killer Puzzle are really gutsy, or it could be that since it's such a small game there's no as much to worry about in terms of additional content, or that content could have already been certified, who knows.

No. The makers of Killer Puzzle just confirmed what we already knew. That if it’s already in the code, like Uber Jason, it doesn’t count as new content. Gun just doesn’t want to do it.
