    Welcome to the Salt Mines

I'm a lurker and have lurked since Beta, but I had to comment on this thread. This update is going to be huge in terms of bringing back older players (myself included). But I had to quote this right here. Seems to me as Sogreth will be one of the first players to enter the Salt Mines. Enjoy playing with other Salty players!!
  2. I don't really know how to read benchmark in regards to my PC setup. So I'll ask How does the Requirements differ from the Beta Requirements? During the Beta I was able to play and stream fine. I added my DxDiag file if anyone wants to benchmark explain how my system will do. Thanks! DxDiag.txt
  3. He can still Morph as all Jason's can, however there is no positive or negative effect to his Morph ability. There's no reason to put it on the list if there is no +/- to the ability.

    Photomanipulation based on FT13th.

    Rematch maybe?
  5. I think it would just make sense to make the spawning of characters random. I don't mind set locations (South Cabin, North Cabin, Main Lodge, Archery Range, Boat Dock, Campsite) as that allows the developers ease on where spawns can take place. But as to who spawns there each game, I think Random would be the best because as I have stated it would add to the game and make the play question where they are going to spawn in the game they are starting once they pick their character. You could even go one step further with Jason's spawn. You can have him spawn in different areas of the lake. So that he isn't always spawning in the same spot every game. Put 4 or 5 different spawn locations in the lake for him and it would help randomize where he spawns to add some distortion to the player being Jason and make them question where in the lake they are spawning.
  6. I don't know if I worded it right. But what it sounds like is this: These are examples and not how it will be!! Game 1: The Nerd spawns alone at the Campsite The Jock spawns with the Girl next door at the South Cabin Counselor 4 and 5 spawn together at the North Cabin Counselor 6 and 7 spawn together at the Main Lodge. Game 2: The Nerd spawns alone at the Archery The Jock and the Girl Next Door spawn together at the Main Lodge Counselor 4 and 5 spawn together at the Campsite Counselor 6 and 7 spawn together at the North Cabin Game 3: The Nerd spawns alone at the Main Lodge The Jock and the Girl Next Door spawn together at the Campsite Counselor 4 and 5 spawn together at the South Cabin Counselor 6 and 7 spawn together at the Archery See how rather I don't want to say boring that sounds. But how predictable it sounds? It comes to picking characters, people will always know who and where the counselors will spawn. I think it would be better for it to work like this: Game 1 The Nerd spawns at Location South Cabin The Jock spawns at Location South Cabin The Girld Next Door spawns at Location Campsite Counselor 4 spawns at Location Campsite Counselor 5 spawns at Location North Cabin Counselor 6 spawns at Location North Cabin Counselor 7 spawns at Location Archery Game 2 The Nerd spawns at Location Archery now The Jock spawns at Location North Cabin now The Girl Next Door spawns at Location South Cabin now Counselor 4 spawns at Location North Cabin now Counselor 5 spawns at Location Campsite now Counselor 6 spawns at Location South Cabin now Counselor 7 spawns at Location Campsite now Game 3 The Nerd spawns at Location North Cabin now The Jock spawns at Location Campsite now The Girl Next Door spawns at Location North Cabin now Counselor 4 spawns at Location South Cabin now Counselor 5 spawns at Location South Cabin now Counselor 6 spawns at Location Archery now Counselor 7 spawns at Location Campsite now
  7. Yeah that is what I am talking about with knowing what Counselor spawns where. It's just another wording. If say the Nerd spawns by himself, then you know he will always spawn by himself. By your explanation he would spawn by himself just in different areas (could be Game 1 at the Archery, Game 2 at the Campsite, Game 3 at the South Cabin, Game 4 at the North Cabin), but he will always spawn by himself. So people won't want to play that person because of this (Not saying they wouldn't but they would be like "man, I'm the nerd. Guess I'm by myself") If they did it so that a RNG or something of sorts randomizes the Counselor at the location would be better. So if the Nerd spawns by himself in game 1 at the Archery, Game 2 he might spawn with The Jock at the Campsite. Game 3 the Girl next door at the Main Lodge or wherever. It would make for a more fun experience to not know exactly where each counselor spawns because it would bring a slight distortion to them when they spawn. They would say "I picked The Nerd, where am I gonna spawn?" They spawn in and look around "Ok, this game I'm at The Boat Dock with The Girl Next Door". Next game they spawn in "Crap, I'm at the Main Lodge by myself. Gotta find the others ASAP!" Knowing the Locations of each spawn is better then knowing where each Counselor will always spawn. I would rather see random Counselors spawning in set locations then set counselors (this being, oh he is alone...he will always be alone, or she spawns with him they will always spawn together) in random locations or even Set locations with set counselors. That's just my 2 cents though. I think it would make for a more dynamic gameplay and add more replay ability to the game as well.
  8. From the video it didn't sound like that. At the 30 second mark in the video it says "Where you spawn, will be dependent on what character you are playing". That means that The Jock will always spawn at say the "south cabin" so if you choose The Jock, you know he will spawn there. The randomness I'm suggesting will say yes the South Cabin is a spawn location, but what character spawns there is random.
  9. I just finished watching the Spawing/Match Start video that was in the update for today. While I like the idea of the spawning, I think they should make the counselor spawn randomly for the location. What I mean by this is: From what it sounds now is that if I choose the Jock counselor, I would always spawn say at the south cabins, if I picked the nerd I would always spawn at the campfire. What I think they need to do is: 2 people will spawn at the south cabin (the counselors that spawn here are random). 2 spawn at the campsite (the counselors that spawn here are random). This would make it harder for people to say always want the Jock because they know after 1 or 2 games he will always spawn in location X. They can pick anyone because the set location is random and not based on the counselor it'self. You have 7 spawn points and the Jock counselor can spawn at any one of those 7 spawn points. Example would be: Game 1 Counselor 1 spawns at Location South Cabin Counselor 2 spawns at Location South Cabin Counselor 3 spawns at Location Campsite Counselor 4 spawns at Location Campsite Counselor 5 spawns at Location North Cabin Counselor 6 spawns at Location North Cabin Counselor 7 spawns at Location Archery Game 2 Counselor 1 spawns at Location Archery now Counselor 2 spawns at Location North Cabin now Counselor 3 spawns at Location South Cabin now Counselor 4 spawns at Location North Cabin now Counselor 5 spawns at Location Campsite now Counselor 6 spawns at Location South Cabin now Counselor 7 spawns at Location Campsite now Game 3 Counselor 1 spawns at Location North Cabin now Counselor 2 spawns at Location Campsite now Counselor 3 spawns at Location North Cabin now Counselor 4 spawns at Location South Cabin now Counselor 5 spawns at Location South Cabin now Counselor 6 spawns at Location Archery now Counselor 7 spawns at Location Campsite now Doing something like this would also allow for more randomly made games so people don't know exactly where they are until they spawn into the game. Now there will be times that people spawn in the same location as a previous game, but that is expected. At least it would add some randomness to it.

    Hello everyone!

While most beta testers think that the game is there just for you to enjoy, you are there to find bugs and if you can manage to find game breaking bugs the better (though most are found in Alpha). Most devs want the players to enjoy the game they are beta testing as well, but any tester who is experienced will tell you. Find the bugs over beating the game.

    Hello everyone!

Greetings everyone! My name is Carl Blackford. I live in Indiana and I'm 35 years old. I've been a fan of Friday the 13th since I saw the 1st one when I was a child. I went to college for Game and Simulation programming and now I stream games and enjoy playing games from all different genres. I have had the honor of beta/alpha testing several games throughout my adulthood ranging from EverQuest in 1998 to World of Warcraft in early 2004 to the recent closed beta of Overwatch. I have beta tested games on PS1, PS2, PS3, Xbox, Xbox 360, and of course PC. I'm excited to see this game come to life and I can't wait to get to playing it. After watching the Pre-Alpha footage of this game, I felt like a child again excited to wake up christmas morning and seeing presents around the tree. I look forward to updates from the devs and I can't wait for the release late next year. - Blackjac
