Jason is supposed to be hard, he is supposed to be OP. Jason should absolutely win the majority of the matches, killing him should be very rare and difficult. Fighting Jason should Be a last resort, running from him is the point. How is this hard to understand. I’m sorry some people don’t like losing, but somebody always has to lose and the point of the genre and the spirit of the game is Jason wins most of the time. Escaping should be a challenge
  2. 9 points
Sure, a jab. Cause that's the first time in the history of film where Jason has been hit with a weapon but unaffected. You should make sure to stretch before you reach that hard. Don't wanna pull a hammy.

I told myself I wasn't going to respond but GODDAMNIT I fucking have to, because this post is just...UGH! You call him a hypocrite while doing the exact same thing you accused him of. Good job. Anyway, let's get to what I want to address. First of all. "Who were these terrible people who asked for god like powers ????" "Oh wait ....it wasn’t the player base? .It was the developers who wanted Jason to feel/seem more powerful in the game!......that’s an actual fact...no assumption.." "In all the time I have been on the forum I have never seen or read about anyone asking for God like/ insta- kill powers so.... I think you did that thing again with the assuming....😉" Are you blind? The devs did it because people were bitching and crying for months that Jason was too weak and that he got bullied by the counselors boo hoo hoo ;( I REALLY hope you're just playing ignorant but somehow I know you aren't. Next. "So then since you are such an epic Jason “main” player.... you didn’t need this “god like buff” and were already getting 7/7 or 8/8 kills huh?" "So what did the patch change for you then?" "I will tell you Nothing since you are a Jason “main” apparently And can Bulldozer these pathetic Counselor ”mains” and go 7/7 or 8/8 still hmmmm? Sounds like there is more to your issues with the patch than this..." The ISSUE with this patch, is that it makes it unfun for both parties, Jason AND Counselor. Nobody believes this apparently, but even before this buff it was EZ as piss to get 7/7 or 8/8 even with a Jason squad on your ass. But nobody wanted to actually learn how to play Jason, so the devs introduced this buff that REWARDS YOU for being bad. Gone are the days where Jason has to worry about being proficient at combat or even caring about dodging Counselor's blows. He WANTS you to hit him, so he can get rage faster and steamroll the lobby. If he hasn't steamrolled it already. This buff REWARDS JASON for being bad a combat and PUNISHES COUNSELORS for exploiting his lack of skill. I can see why so many of the whiners love this patch. It literally rewards you for being bad and punishes counselors for punishing you. It holds your hand and coddles you. And because of it, the counselors are less inclined to punish you, because it punishes them too. Which I feel is incredibly unfair and honestly stupid. It completely devalues being able to fight with Jason. There's no point in learning how to fight properly anymore when the game rewards you for losing. And because of this end game is VERY boring and just uneventful to watch. I'll get to that later though when I address another point you made. Anyways, next. "You have missed the entire purpose of this game and how it’s a love letter to The franchise and the character of Jason Voorhees....him getting beat up by teenager stereotypes is not...they aren’t the Stars of the Game." What Friday movies have you been watching? The ones I've seen either end with Jason getting his ass beat by a teenage girl or Tommy Jarvis. Everyone seems to have this deluded view of Jason, it's really weird it's like some fucking mandela effect. Everyone thinks Jason is some unstoppable god of death or something. I hate to burst your bubble but, Jason loses at the end of every movie. So, trying to bring the movies into this is a pretty terrible argument. If you want to go that route the counselors should win by default every game because that's how the movies go. Sure, some of them die, but one always wins in the end. Moreso, this patch also makes the game even LESS like the movies and I'll explain why. Remember those games before the patch where people would just ring Jason around as Vanessa without even trying to stun him? Remember how boring that was to watch? Well, now that's what you're inclined to do for the whole game, because you're punished for fighting Jason. And once he gets rage he can just M1 everyone with little resistance. (Seriously, I know alot of the community follows this dumb "No slashing" rule, but this buff makes slashing even more of a viable tactic. I never minded slashers myself but, I can't deny this update makes slashing even easier. Atleast before you could counter it by stunning Jason. Now though once he's got you stunlocked you're pretty much screwed since he can interrupt your heals and, well, if he's in rage you can't stun him. So you literally cannot stop him.) Now, this rage buff removes what I call the "Final Showdowns." You know how in the movies the movie usually ends with Jason having one final showdown with the last survivor? Ah yes, that was my favorite scene from Part 6. When Tommy ringed Jason around the table for 5 whole minutes. Best part of the movie. Or when Chris Higgins looped Jason through the main cabin multiple times. Jokes aside, those final showdowns were thrilling for me as both counselor and Jason. And this buff completely removes them. Gone are the adrenaline rushing final showdowns with Jason as the clock ticks down trying to hold out until the sun rises. Now its been replaced with just briskly jogging away from him for minutes on end. During those final showdowns I actually felt like I was the protagonist of a Friday movie having that epic final showdown with Jason. I FELT like I was actually in the movies. But now that feeling is completely gone, and it makes me sad. As for the Jason side, there's no satisfactions in it either. It's boring if my prey can't fight back AT ALL. Where's the sport in that? "Jason can still be stunned and Killed even in Rage so......" No, no he can't EXCEPT with a shotgun. I don't even need to go into how stupid that is. The only time you can stun him with any other weapon once he's in rage, is if you knock his mask off. Otherwise, yeah, hitting him does jack for shit. Overall, my main complaint is that this update needlessly removes options for counselors and devalues skill as Jason. Counselors no longer have the option of fight or flight, which makes for very boring games when the only option is to briskly jog away. As for Jason, what's the point of learning how to fight when they get punished for exploiting your lack of skill anyway? The game does it for you! I don't really have much else to say on the matter, I'll fully admit I am terrible at structuring posts but I just HAD to say something. Because this post bothered the shit out of me. Yes, it's sad and pathetic. And I probably shouldn't have even bothered typing it out but. Well, I already put the effort into it so. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Too late now.

It has been found that switch versions somehow have a couple unreleased emotes, including shadow box and the Egyptian that we have asked about many times on Gun Media’s Twitch streams. 1.What the fuck 2. If it’s been in switch, why can’t we have them on other platforms? 3.Considering you’ve already put them in, Please release them to the FULL public, not just one version. Because we have asked many times about these emotes on Twitch streams, and I feel like it’s always glanced over or they try to answer really quickly without giving us a full final answer.

So let me get this straight. You are playing Friday The 13th The Game starring Jason Voorhees the legendary antagonist of the classic slasher films of the 1980's. And yet you expect Jason not to slash? It's unfair to slash in a game based on slasher films............. Get Gud scrub.

I think this is okay, since it shows how to combat glitchers. Jason gains no advantage by glitching onto a roof; this is actually helpful info for those who hate glitchers in my opinion.

Strigoi, I got your question via PM! We'll chat on it in stream for sure! I love this idea. I will create a master thread later today for next week's BEYOND. We can have people fill it in and I'll lock it after the episode and make a new one for the following week. For this week, I'm up against the wall as I go live shortly, so we'll shoot for a good thread of questions for next week. I appreciate that feedback. I agree, while we try to answer everything brought up, not everyone can attend.

This isn't how the real world works. If any other business couldn't give you proper service after a set amount of screw ups you would not give them more support. There's a difference between legitimate complaints about the product and someone conducting personal attacks on people. The new dev team didn't come on last week, they've been here for months. At what point are they supposed to be responsible and accountable for what they do?
  12. 5 points
@Slasher_Clone I have you on my list but almost never see you online (but you apparently live here). If you're online on weekends or later in the week (usually between 5-7 pm EST) you'd be able to hop in with @lasse_hei, @Vaderspupil, @Redrum138, and others we frequently play with. Weekends are a better bet to have a full or close to full group. Same goes for you two as well, @HaHaTrumpWon & @mike-hannigan, so long as you follow simple conduct (no glitching/exploiting in ANY way, and if a grab or environmental bugs out, don't run off and take your death like a champ... That is basically it.). If you want to add me, PSN ID is the same as here, just add a 13 to the end of my name & MAKE SURE you put your forum name in your friend request so I know who it is. I DO NOT add blank requests, someone I only met or played with once without knowing how they play (want team players, not lone wolves), or people I know who just glitch and abuse this or any games... And while I'm at it, @mattshotcha, I know I may be hounding you, sending a similar text to your PSN ID, but, of you're ever on your PS4, join us!

This stopped being silly a long time ago, now it’s just “look who’s being a dumbass this week.” If you think the game is dead move on. Your hurt feelings aren’t worth the time to humour any longer. No matter how bad Gun is at their job, those of you who spend the time and energy to be petty for months on end rather than just getting over it, you’re infinitely worse than the pubs you despise. If you don’t have anything constructive to add.... fuck off. I look forward to all the sad faces I’m bound to get, 😘.

Update from the Beyond stream: For anyone who missed the stream Mattshotcha said the hot fix that will hopefully end the Roof glitching is being retooled by the team and they hope to get it out to certification and us ASAP.... This hot fix will only focus on the actual interaction mechanics that allow players to gain access to all roof areas around the maps..... they believe that they will have this issue completely buttoned up with this upcoming Hot fix...after play testing the teams most recent build.... The following patch after the Hot fix will then address the environmental kills that have not been registering and allowing players to accumulate hundreds of kills per match... Matt also mentioned the knife throw car glitch and Victoria’s pants also being next on the teams cross hairs.... He also was asked about Jason’s mask hit points and him being easier to kill since the rage buff... and that the team was looking into these as well but they didn’t want to make any changes that were too drastic with Jason’s gameplay... I wanted to post something in this thread for anyone who hasn’t seen the Beyond Episode and wanted to know where we are with the most recent developments.
  16. 5 points
Dancing my way out of the police exit every time was fun. They should have left it alone. Don't worry though because they broke environmental kills to make up for it. 😄
  17. 5 points
The Rage buff was not necessary. It was a "we don't really care" band-aid. Want to know why there are dance parties? Well for one, they added dance emotes to the game, just to try and soak up more $$$. And because there is no other way to play then to beat/kill Jason. As it's the easiest way to win. They buffed Jason's speed so much so now you can't outrun him unless you're Vanessa. And Sense is so OP there is no point in trying to be sneaky. Your best bet is to kill him. Plus, the playerbase is so low now (hovering less than 400, half of those playing single player), that the only people left are hackers and trolls. So of course, you're going to get people who dance on Jason's head. An actual solution would be to give Jason diminishing returns on stuns if counselors try to to stun him too quickly. And lower stun duration and chance during rage. Not making him completely immune. Now we have to escape within 5 minutes or you're dead. That won't help the game, it'll make people bored of it as games will be over so quickly. Thy should give counselors a reason to play something other than "Kill Jason". Now it's just a "Watch your counselors die" simulator.

If The Lawsuit gets settled in 4 to 5 years Id Like To See Friday the 13th the game get remade by a company that has more money to expand full campaign story mode single player offline. also to include day time exploration mode with counseling training center where you can practice driving vehichles around the map. Include the maps that we didnt get part 6 camp forest green, part 7 shepherds house map, part 8 manhattan, grendel custom maps, nes map abandoned camp map. a full campaign could be where a player as Jason or counselor takes over each map from the movies part 1 to part 7.

Now we just need to make them dance and they'll be just like real players that do nothing all round.

It was being used as a consumer/product comparison. Totally different products. But totally valid comparison. Here’s a different one then. You go to McDonald’s. You order a cheeseburger. You notice it’s missing the cheese. You take it back. They remake it. Then you notice it’s missing the patty. You take it back. They remake it. Then you notice it’s missing the bottom bun. You take it back. They remake it. Then you notice it’s missing the top bun. And what point do you stop thinking, “Oh boy. I’m so grateful. At least they tried.” And say, “What the fuck is wrong with you? Do your goddamn job and give me what I paid for”????

After recent arguments have caused uproar in my brain, I’ve decided to lay out my reasoning as to why she is and will forever be the best girl. 1.Shes not just there to Survive by Running around. - I love Tiffany but like Vanessa, both are only good at surviving for their Running abilities. Deborah has somewhat decent Stamina, and her amazing stealth and repair allow her to survive by Cars, boats you name it. Either way, she can do many many things they can’t. 2. She’s actually Useful in Gameplay - I’m sorry but the only 2 uses I can think of for Vanessa are bullying Jason and running around to drop stuff off. Tiffany is even worse, try and bully Jason as her and you won’t last longer than 2 minutes most likely. Once again with her repair Deborah is the main Woman for fixing everything, and it’s safe to say many of the escapes you’ve had are thanks to Deborahs’ hard work. This gives her a huge ability to fix literally anything. 3.Deborah Can easily turn the game around - Last one alive? No problem. Tommy needs power? You got it. Police need calling? She’s comin. Deborah can single handedly break everything in a Jason’s plan. 4. Deborah is Adorable - Cmon, I’m not saying the others aren’t, but just look at her cute photo in TAB. She’s fricken adorable, and her glasses are dope. 5.Along with her trope, she seems badass constantly. As the bookish shyer girl, whenever she beats Jason down or drives away ,does whatever, It only makes her seem hella bad ass when she screams at Jason. 6. This ones opinion, but I believe Deborah looks best in Pamela’s sweater, especially with the Bunny Costume or Swimsuit on. Read it and weep Deborah haters

I feel like I’ve never brought this into a public scale with the forums, but here’s a short way to simplify what I’m trying to say. For the past year, as a female player i really cannot tell you I’ve Gone a day without getting called vulgar and inappropriate shit (even after I tell them I’m 15 and to stop clearly). This is what the main driving away factor is currently, isn’t the game but honestly the fan base... Im 15, but even after i point that out, I still get called sexual and vulgar shit on here. Also here’s a main point, Every single time I’ve played this game, which could be around thousands of times now, I can’t get by without being targeted after clearly they’ve made me uncomfortable, and though my friends I play with who are a bit older than me know better and always defend me, this toxic part of the fan base (College guys who think everyone wants them), atleast I’m presuming, is probably one of the biggest forces driving players away that we never talked about. We need a real report system, and we need REAL BANS. Especially when shit like this happens. I hope I didn’t trigger anyone, and I’m sorry if I did something wrong with this post or it goes against your opinion, but I’m honestly done with this shit, and I feel like bringing it here publicly will help me start conversation about this and help me almost cope in a sense. Thank you!

Then quit playing, a game can’t die a peaceful death but you can choose, not to be involved if you want. Even after the servers go down I’ll still be playing it.

I would have like individual skins rather than reskins for existing Counselors but that could have worked too. Edit - Going to keep adding more but I’m playing at the same time, lol. Got interrupted by being Jason. A few other touches I would have liked are the Pitchfork as a new weapon and a Zippo as a new flashlight but handheld. I even think the Rock could be worked in as a noise distraction.

You guys are all pretty toxic lol. Just want to point out, as it was mentioned, this new update is NOT well liked. I saw that someone said something along the lines of: "only trolls dislike the update because they can't beat up Jason". That's untrue, and kind of ignorant. Also, I did want to add, this is for @Ahab about your comment on the playerbase, and when you bought the game there were only like 300 players. I don't know what kind of point you were trying to make, but no reason to lie about it. I've seen how you post on the Steam forums too, and all of your posts end in arguments, or threatening to have people banned, acting like you get special treatment from the devs/mods. But anyways... You can clearly see here: https://steamdb.info/app/438740/graphs/ On the day of release (May 26th 2017) there were 13740 people playing the game. And it never once dipped anywhere close to 300. It only first got to the 500s on June 19th 2018. And you can see after Oct 31st of last year, the playerbase hovered around 700-800 up until the end of January 2019, the time of the newest patch. Where it's been at a decline, and rarely hitting 600 at peak hours.

This conversation more or less proves the devs probably never thought in their wildest dreams that killing Jason would be a top 2 meta of the game. They thought the game would be played as a cat and mouse, hide and seek game but they severely undercut that part of the game with Sense toggle and composure/fear/stealth being weak stats. They thought their precious stat of 1 and 75 tries would hold up and you notice now they have nothing to say about that anymore. I can see why many Jason players don't bother with block. Not only because of the quick block being garbage now, but because he's SLOWED DOWN in block. Cool, the counselors weapons will break but what good is that if they can out run him up close and also with his melee speed being garbage in block? Block makes him weaker up close if he can't actually do anything with it offensively. Just last night, I was in spectate watching a pretty skilled Part 8 Jason up against two AJs (one with a sweater) and a Tommy. He was going through the motions, playing it safe with knives and he was even using his block effectively to break their weapons. Eventually the sweater girl's weapon broke, but rather than chasing her to the cabin she went to for another weapon, he kept chasing Tommy and the regular AJ. His mistake was not chasing the sweater girl from what I saw being she was split up, but eventually he just stopped using block probably due to frustration, they demasked him and killed him. Grab itself is absolutely pointless in a crowd without some kind of body blocking or godframe window that allows Jason to kill someone. As it is, only the choke/decap kills are effective in a crowd that's semi apart. Point being, unless you're dealing with an objective based lobby or do nothings. Your only viable option up close is throwing knives (Roy/Part 6) or weapon strength (3/4/7/Savini) to slash away at their 4-6 meds and usual pocket knife and hope for the best. Grab is a pointless idea and blocking is a great idea on paper, but unless you are in a small area, you will be out ran.

I just faced a 4 man hunting team, over level 100. I did all I could. I trapped the radio tower (which by the way it does spawn randomly, but after 2 years you should have a pretty good Idea about where it spawns depending on the general configuration of the map. I'd say I guess correctly 60-70% of times), the shack, but they were really an organized team, and managed to unmask me. Yes, once you are unmasked the hunting team have all the good cards. But I didn't die. I managed to exhaust their stamina by continuosly teleporting around and managed to kill sweater girl via knives, traps and melee. I have huge respect for what all of you are saying, especially @Slasher_Clone and @Ahab because you all know a lot about the game, and love it as I do, but simply my everyday experience is different. You can fight back, if you put your mind to it. And I'm an absolutely average Jason. Granted, that does not work every time. Granted, I could have met better teams of ultra-pros who would have plowed me because they are simply better than me. But that's life, isn't it?
  33. 4 points
This thread has raised some very interesting and valid points tbh. I don't think that killing Jason is "easier" than ever as some people have stated, so much as it's now the most viable option for survival since surviving the night is a thing of the past and you only have a few minute to push objectives. Stun parties got taken out, but now lazy Jason players get killed more frequently and all because y'all don't wanna use block smh.
  34. 4 points
Running is the only option you have when Jason hits rage. Fighting back to survive which i liked to do and not trolling or interested in killing Jason was taken away because of toxic players. Running and being skilled enough to survive shouldn't be discouraged and now this is more challenging than killing Jason. The sentiment seems to be counselors should be running from Jason instead of fighting and now that counselors are upping their game by escaping Jason's grasp, now this is considered trolling??? I'm not trying to be rude but gimmie a break!!! I don't know about the rest of you but i'm looking forward to when this game will have a happy medium.

A knife glitched decided to throw my car up into a tree, and act like he did it on purpose and aimed me into the tree ( the knife glitch can’t be “aimed” it’s pretty random as to how the physics work) but jokes on him. I didn’t leave the car, and he couldn’t reach me to get me out. Aswell as the car was off, and the glitch only works on turned on cars lol. Satisfying watching him shut up, and try and knife glitch me for the next 11 minutes till the round ended...

Go back and re-read what they said, neither of the people you’re arguing with are really against you. They’ve tried to explain, not only why rage was introduced but also that some of us feel that the firecrackers or flare gun should still stun. Not that they do stun but that they should. Relax man, We’re all fans.

I think the difference here is obvious: people rolling in Kill Squads vs people in QP. Also, when it was UNKNOWN it was hard to kill Jason. When locations of the shack were unknown, when balancing perks, calling Tommy, and numerous other mechanics were new and mysterious, of course it was. People are using Kickstarted interviews and prior as evidence. Fact is goons and kids do it with ease because its formulaic. Rage mode helps newer Jasons, however the problem has always been in combat and facing multiple counselors. The objectives are based on cat and mouse, not man vs gang. We were always supposed to run and try to escape. Any group of counselors that work together will always defeat any Jason. Jason can use combat improvements is my point. Or learn how to beat groups. People have put several strategies how to avoid it. I havent been killed legitly yet. Came close 2-3 times, but no official kills. Only ones where I taught people how to do it. Side note, Tommy generator used to be able to be smashed onced called for those that remember.
