Player as police

I think it would be interesting for the player that been escorted by the police can be a police after that and hunt Jason down or rescue other player that still not escaped yet.

That was in the early conceptions of the game, but it would just have fed Jason to spawn camp the police officers so it was scrapped.

We already have the "OP hero to the rescue" in the form of Tommy Jarvis. Adding another one would tilt the game too much to the counselors' favor I think.

Edit: I'd be okay with it if some maps had another "rescuer" *instead* of Tommy Jarvis. e.g. if you were playing on a Grendel map, you could get KM-14 to come help you. The objectives that called an alternative character in could be different (e.g. you might have to activate KM-14 by booting her up, or your police example if you manage to find the cop in a Manhattan map -- although the cop in Part 8 didn't fare very well!)

Basically what I'm saying is that as it is, the role you describe is pretty much exactly that of Tommy Jarvis, who is already in the game.

Guy on death row on his way to the lethal injection table.

I dunno, some people have weird fetishes.

I disagree with this idea.

The police might need one more tweak, but this isn't what I would do.

Still, I like his *idea*, but as I said it would have to be on a map that did not have Tommy Jarvis. Maybe on a Manhattan map or a map that took place in town (JGTH-type) or something.

i dont see why someone couldn't play as a cop like a tommy jarvis but with worse stats but and have a 6 shot pistol that does about the same damage as shot gun if all 2or 3 shots land.

In this case, not for long.

To be fair, when their fetishes are truly satisfied, most guys don't last for very long.

Yes, but this would favor the counselors too much if this was in ADDITION to having Tommy Jarvis also on the map.

So one last hurrah. Gotcha.

sure why not, a cop would just be a counselor in  a certain outfit and start with a gun or shotgun to make it easier on resources already in the game. cept the cop would have to start off with  his radio obviously not working, and start in random location

Not to sound overly sensitive, but I'm glad Gun Media chose to have the police off-screen and therefore be immune to assault.

While the developers' rationale might have been to keep the game mechanics concise, my reason for keeping the police off-field is to prevent players from trying to kill cops as Jason.

(There -are- states considering making crimes against police into "hate crimes," due to polarized opinions on the role of law enforcement in a modern, diverse society.)

Being unable to attack police in-game will help stave-off the sociopathic fantasies of those who've a grudge against law enforcement. Any who -really- need to scratch their cop-killing itch, can play Grand theft Auto.

True, but onscreen Jason has definitely killed cops before. Having a cop in the game is not too huge a stretch. My only argument against it is for gameplay reasons (Tommy Jarvis already fills that role). He's also killed black people (another potential hate crime).

Of course, we know Jason does not hate cops, or black people. He hates horny teenagers at his lake doing drugs and having sex and anyone who enables, manages, or associates with them. Oddly, none of these would be considered a hate crime.

Well maybe they should add the police, but the police cant really kill Jason with gun of course, at least it will slow him down for a bit so others can escape.

I made a post suggesting something for this a while back, though it's too late in the game at this point to make any major changes to core features. Here was my initial pitch.

Quote

I posted these over on Reddit a while back but figured I would offer them as suggestions here as well. They're just ideas, so feel free to discuss.

To add another layer to the "Call Police" part of the game, I thought it might be a good idea to add another hero character to be part of this.

Make it so you can only call the police but no one can come until at least one person is dead. That person can then become a single cop sent to investigate, kind of like the Tommy Jarvis mechanic. You can make this a new character so you don't have to go get a license for the Sheriff Mike Garris actor or anything like that.

Once a player becomes the cop, they arrive on the scene but can't call for backup until they investigate the area, so he might have to do one of several things like find a dead body, see Jason, or meet a panicked councilor. Once that objective is met, he can go through some process to call for backup. Since this is the 80s, cops didn't regularly carry walkie talkies like they do today, so the process to call for backup can be a little more involving as he will need to find the phone or maybe make it to his patrol car that he left parked on the other side of the camp, which broke down or got a flat or something contrived like that to take it out of play. I haven't thought of everything here.

However, if the cop dies before calling it in, the other cops never show and it's treated like a crank call by those silly kids playing pranks again. If he succeeds the cops show as usual.

This adds a second option for a dead survivor to get a little more play time in and potentially extends the game slightly with some additional objectives play.

For Jason

It's not uncommon for Jason to get knocked down and stunned, and when that happens, some people get ballsy and go over to tea bag him. I think it would be pretty cool if Jason could reach up and grab anyone that gets too close like that and maybe even pull off a ground execution. Something like this one.

Hoping for RoboCop DLC. Dead or Undead you're coming with me.

Wouldn't it be more accurate for Murphy to say "Undead or alive, you're coming with me." ?
