I've been really into horror anthologies lately and I just wanted to know which ones everyone else thought were the best.

Vote for your top 3 or comment with something I missed.

That's an anthology? I always assumed by the cover that it was just about some killer tape like The Ring, haha.

Well, the only one that isn't about Michael Myers is Halloween III, so I don't know if it really counts, though it WAS originally intended to be an anthology film series.

It's a movie or series that consists solely of a bunch of mostly disconnected stories, many times with some kind of wrapper featuring a recurring host, like Rod Serling, The Cryptkeeper, etc.

It's more sci-fi but I like The Ray Bradbury Theater.

VHS 1&2 (not Viral) are good.

I would even include Are You Afraid of the Dark? on this list.

Big fan of Tales from the Crypt ever since I was a little kid!  You forgot to add Elvira's Movie Macabre!!

Viral's only good for the Bonestorm segment. It's like Jackass meets Evil Dead, and I liked it for being the only story that didn't take itself seriously.

Tales from the Crypt would be probably my favorite on that list. The Crypt Keeper was always a fun little joy. I'll never forget one of the old quotes before an episode, "I once knew a man who loved dying so much, he did it for a living."

I do miss ol Crypty. :)

Another old sci fi favorite, The Burning Zone.

Creepshow 3 was an absolute mess. They really disgraced the series with that one.

Can we please only refer to it as "Crapshow 3" from now on?

Monsters TV show wasn't too bad and the cartoon Tales from the Cryptkeeper was decent too.  HBO's Hitchhiker was decent as well.
But my favourite horror anthology movie has to be Trick R Treat!  :D

The Twilight Zone is the best series, although it is not really always about horror.

The best horror movie series are the Freddy movies to me. The whole dream universe made it more interesting than most horror movies, and the story is pretty good. There were a lot of great Freddy movies. I hope GUN makes a Freddy game after they make a ton of dough and are finished with F13. That would be dope.

It's a mix of sci-fi and horror, but I think more often than not it falls into the horror genre.
