Would you pay for "backpacks"?

69 posts in this topic

So basically along the vein of counter strike drop boxes.

You pay real life dollars for a backpack that cointains rare perks and unique skins for characters and weapons.

I would.

Ill happily pay for new outfits for my jenny myers, Her outfits are the highest to unlock in the game and the majority patterns and shoes are ugly. With the brown shoes and a few switches of pants and shirts i finally got one outfit i love lol with this being such a social game we most deff need new clothing to stand out from others.

Yeah because it's fun that one dumb skin that one guy can do in 10 minutes cost 500$

No I like the current DLC system the devs are doing, I'm honestly suprised at how cheap they are selling the Spring-break 1984 pack for I paid more for the Counselor Clothing Pack Preorder.

I don't like the new random supply drop system that Call Of Duty has or anything like it.

I like to know what DLC I am buying and know exactly what I will get when I spend the money on it.

Not waste $5 to $50 or more on random loot boxes, supply drops, or whatever and get random garbage that sucks.

I don't see that working for Friday The 13th. Not enough content for a system like that. We would forever be stuck in a tornado of soon for new supply drop content.

The community would quickly abandon the game. It was a kickstarter by the fans. Not funded by Activision.

I got him for free :) he was on the xbox store by mistake for a while. As much xbox put up with we deserved that and i didnt feel bad for downloading it. We basically played beta for almost 2 weeks at launch because they didnt get use the first day patch. Then here came another update every other platform got we had to wait and wait for. He is really good but the only con is he is super slow in water.

You missed that free ship ride on Xbox One. PS4 users had to pay a toll of $6.

With DLC you have to walk a fine line between cosmetic and useful.

I really don't care if people pay money for a sparkle pony or a swimsuit. That is their call. I do care when you start throwing rare perks and things that actually benefit the player in game. This means someone with money can purchase a better character than someone without. This is a system I cannot abide in any way.

I also agree with @GhostWolfViking that if I am paying for something I would like to know exactly what I am getting. Paying money to spin the wheel of perk destiny is a terrible idea, as some people will spend money farming a thing until they aren't even spending money they have, but rather money they are borrowing.

The saddest thing I have ever seen in regards to money lending was walking through a casino and seeing a loan office and mortgage place. Right in the fucking casino. That right there is preying on people, and random in game bonuses for money is not that bad, but it is still in the same book of how to squeeze money from people.

Hmm, I might be tempted to pay for unique variants of existing perks, such as spawn with a baseball bat with a unique skin, or even spawn with a unique weapon, as long as that weapon had the same stats as the vanilla weapons like the bat and axe. It would have to be very cheap though.

Yes agreed, should be purely cosmetic or at the MOST a limited time xp boost.

Also I want my sparkle pony.

Wish I had known about the game during the backing and wish I had been around when it was on PS4. Would love to experience playing as that Jason :(

I wish perks were never added to the game to begin with to be honest. I've been ok with the special abilities feature that they scrapped though, which was more tailored to each specific counselor apparently.

Perks in a nutshell.

1. Half of them don't work.

2. If I remember, haven't tested, but one slot or another didn't work when it came to actually giving you item specific perks. Don't know if this has been fixed yet post patch/hot fix

3. I feel the ones that do work are spammed too often and tilt the balance of power towards counselor, like tanking for instance. Why have different counselors given different strengths and weaknesses if they can all tank and heal 6 times if they have 3 first aid sprays combined with a good thick skin?

The perks made the specific types of counselors irrelevant in some ways.
